Question about 19" / 20" Wheels and Tires for 2026 MYP Owners

I'm planning on buying a 2026 MYP. I've noticed on the Tesla website that both the 19" and 20" wheel and tire packages say "*Note: Not compatible with Model Y Performance vehicles. I've already read existing owners running both 19" and 20" on their cars.. with those particular wheels, too! According to Tesla, only the 21" wheel/tire packages are "compatible" I'm planning to go to a 19" and sell the 21" (since we've got tons of potholes here in Toronto).

Because they want you to purchase the performance-model-targeted 21" winter wheel and tire package. Same for the M3P. They want you to buy the 20" sport wheels and winter tire package, the 19" package is "incompatible". I told them order it anyway, and I run them every winter. Edit: At least that's how it is for the 3. The fact that they specifically call out 2025+ Model Y Performance on the induction package makes me wonder if there's something else at play as well.

Oh interesting, I didn't know they did that for the M3P, too. I mean, the thing is, saying it's "incompatible" really misleads people. I know there's completely different suspension and stuff vs the regular MY, but people who don't know better would just assume that's true... I recently spoke to Tesla about different sized wheels and one of the reps told me if it's not OEM spec, Tesla can deny warranty. So it's possible Tesla could say the same if you went with a 19" or 20" wheel instead of the 21" on the MYP. \*Shrugs\*

Oh, also, Tesla KNOWS they’re compatible because in the car if you use the menu to change your wheel and tire configuration, you can choose the 19” sport v2 wheels. Whereas for example I can’t choose the 18” wheels cause they actually won’t fit. Check what options you’re given on your car.

M3P Highland has 19" winter wheels specifically for the performance, I have them on my car direct from Tesla. The performance cars use staggered wheels, that is likely why the others are listed as not compatible. People will say you can square your tire setup, I disagree and so does Tesla. You just need to order a smaller staggered setup if Tesla didn't offer one.

You have a 19” winter tire staggered setup from Tesla ? Or is it just regular? The wheels are the same size actually, it’s just the tires themselves that are different.

Staggered 19" winter tire setup from Tesla. The wheels aren't the same size, the are both 19" but one is 8.5" wide and the other is 10". Oh my bad, didn't realize that... that makes sense why the 19" and 20" wheels aren't "compatible" because those offerings are square, not staggered.. And Tesla is suggesting a staggered setup for the MYP.

I don't have a MYP - I'm planning to buy a set of wheels for my MYP in advance so I can swap out the 21" :) I've heard the 19" Crossflows will work though.
