Is it worth it?

Geo_301 | 2026-02-26 05:27 | 28 views

I need some advice for my first Tesla? 320-350 for car payments as well? Having a test drive on Sunday. Anything I should look for?

miles?

James-robinsontj 2026-02-26 05:31

You buy the car you can afford with cash.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 05:32

30,000

Shygar 2026-02-26 05:34

I'm selling a long range for that almost exact price with FSD and lifetime premium connectivity

Geo_301 2026-02-26 05:35

Oh nice, I wish I could buy it but i definitely don’t have that cash out right.

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-26 05:38

Are you financing this? At what APR? Do you have the proper charging at home? Don’t buy if you one of those that plan to supercharge only. Check battery degradation since warranty running out in a year or so.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 05:41

Yes, 5 apr. I do have the proper charging. Okay will check degradation!

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-26 05:42

Good luck and have fun! 5% is solid for used.

Due_Weird_8966 2026-02-26 05:42

What year & how many miles?

Geo_301 2026-02-26 05:52

You think it’s worth it? And the battery warranty is 8 years correct? So I have until 2029?

csbsju_guyyy 2026-02-26 05:52

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the 21s known for bad batteries?

Geo_301 2026-02-26 05:53

It has lithium ion batteries, I heard there good batteries

rattler843 2026-02-26 05:56

There are no production years of the model 3 that are known for “bad batteries.” There are failures here and there but they’re rare not specific to any particular year

Tradetheday2093 2026-02-26 06:05

It’s not a bad deal. Ya true, check what month warranty started. Teslas are not expensive to maintain and drive, but when you have problems/or damage it can get costly. Only you know if you stretching to get a Tesla or it’a very comfortable for your budget.

MexicanSniperXI 2026-02-26 06:18

I’ll sell you my 2021 M3P with 26k miles for $28k 😏

Detective_Far 2026-02-26 06:23

I got my 22’ AWD from Tesla for $21k, so no. But I did get the tax credit, had 50k miles.

Firstname_Lastname__ 2026-02-26 06:28

I have a 2021 standard range + 3 with 45k miles. The estimated max range on mine is 221 miles. I doubt that listed car still has 267 miles range.

Upset_Competition996 2026-02-26 06:30

I have a 21 M3, and my wife has a 21 My. Zero problems! But... I paid for FSD and don't know what to do to protect my investment. Trade before March 31st, wait to see what Tesla is going to do with hardware 3 FSD owners or keep my car, which I love and just drive it. FSD on hardware 3 is quite good.

Metallifan33 2026-02-26 06:43

Just because you have cash doesn’t mean it’s worth it.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 06:49

I wish

Geo_301 2026-02-26 06:49

Will see on Sunday

iownedslam 2026-02-26 06:51

Is lifetime connectivity a promotion or something you were able to add on when buying the car?

iownedslam 2026-02-26 06:52

Considering I just picked up a 2023 for $21k, 20k miles, this isn't the worst deal but there are other solid options out there. Not a bad idea to keep looking considering the market.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 06:53

Got you!

MexicanSniperXI 2026-02-26 07:00

Hope you get your Tesla, you’re gonna love it!

Geo_301 2026-02-26 07:01

You think it’s worth it?

[deleted] 2026-02-26 07:04

[removed]

Geo_301 2026-02-26 07:06

Why’s that?

MexicanSniperXI 2026-02-26 07:07

For $20k it doesn’t sound bad at all. Only downside is that you don’t have the standard warranty anymore. If there’s any issues with it, it can be pricey. Motors and battery are still covered for a while so that’s nice since those are probably the most expensive parts. I’d pay attention to rattles, seat controls to make sure they work fine, open the glove box as well. I’d say just mess with everything you can. Doors, trunk, frunk and make sure all is working as expected.

FoxFar4793 2026-02-26 07:07

I’d get an AWD

Geo_301 2026-02-26 07:08

Ty so much for what I should look for. Definitely going help on Sunday

Competitive_Guava_33 2026-02-26 07:11

Is 1977 going well for you grandpa

MexicanSniperXI 2026-02-26 07:15

You’re very welcome! I hope that helps a bit. I almost forgot, check the type c ports in the center console, make sure they’re working and charging your phone. Good luck!

No-Sherbert-8104 2026-02-26 07:17

Do you have advice on the maximum mileage to consider when buying a used M3? Of course, as low as possible within my budget, but is there a threshold where it's not even worth considering?

AmbassadorEither7033 2026-02-26 11:19

Can you please PM me info ASAP. Thanks.

___metazeta___ 2026-02-26 12:55

What happens on March 31?

leredditxddd 2026-02-26 14:00

End of fsd transfer to a new Tesla

Shygar 2026-02-26 14:09

Yes it's one of the early 2018's, which came with lifetime premium connectivity. I also have an early Cybertruck which also has it.

NoaLink 2026-02-26 14:18

There's virtually no way it has that much range left.

PresentationSome2427 2026-02-26 14:23

Please make sure it charges fully at a supercharger first. Make sure it's not a salvaged title.

Simple_Ad_3876 2026-02-26 15:29

No get the long range🤣

Simple_Ad_3876 2026-02-26 15:30

Just trade it bro and do free FSD transfer if you still can..?

Professional_Day5412 2026-02-26 16:51

If you’re financing you should definitely check out carmax. I searched for weeks for my 2023 model Y LR with Hardware 4 with no results and I ended up checking carmax and I found one within a few days. It seems like you’re not trying to spend that much but I just found this within 5 seconds of going onto their website. My shipping was literally only $99. https://preview.redd.it/un1xe41acvlg1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29452323c1d5b0910de465a473da40e9c08d6f90

Geo_301 2026-02-26 17:52

How can I make sure it’s clean title? Other than looking at the car fax?

Geo_301 2026-02-26 17:54

How many miles would be bad if it had left?

NoaLink 2026-02-26 18:28

Different driving conditions yield different ranges. I'd expect this car to be in the 200-220 real world mile range on average.

gabrintx 2026-02-26 22:04

No.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:05

Why

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:07

How bout where it never snows, and I drive only 15 miles a day

gabrintx 2026-02-26 22:07

Too old, old computer, out of warranty, unknown history.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:08

I mean 2021 not that old and hardware 3 still good, still had active 8 year warranty and it’s clean title and other things from the car fax

gabrintx 2026-02-26 22:10

seems like you have decided.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:16

I do think this is the one and I just want a proper opinion on financing

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:16

But Sunday I’m test driving and will check it out fully

JurassicTerror 2026-02-26 22:21

Doesn’t seem like a great deal to me.

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:21

Why’s that?

gabrintx 2026-02-26 22:25

the LR is AWD.

JurassicTerror 2026-02-26 22:36

A little older and what’s the mileage?

Geo_301 2026-02-26 22:37

30,000

JurassicTerror 2026-02-26 22:57

Not bad. Don’t listen to me. Other people will have better advice. I’m new to Tesla.

Crawdaddy-MktgGenius 2026-02-26 23:42

recurrent.com will show battery condition/rating with vin#

NoaLink 2026-02-27 01:27

This will work! Also, so would a 2017 Nissan leaf. But that would not be nearly as fun.

hchn27 2026-02-27 06:52

Ah yes…I remember buying a used 2005 civic cash and then spending hundreds of dollars every couple of months for a few years fixing something …until I realized all the money spent in repairs I could have used to just finance a new car.

Bustmywallet 2026-02-27 11:42

Might as well look at long range cars

RedBandsblu 2026-02-27 12:59

Find a ‘23 for a comparable price an EV that’s been sitting that long is bound to have major problems and you find a ‘23 for about the same price and probably right under that 50k miles as well

WunzOF 2026-02-28 20:46

What does that mean?

leredditxddd 2026-02-28 23:29

It means that if you have Tesla 1 with FSD and you buy Tesla 2 and want to sell Tesla 1, you can transfer the FSD to Tesla 2 instead of buying the 8K FSD buyout (not after early February anymore). But after March 31, you cannot do the transfer and have to just subscribe monthly
