Oddly enough my widget was working but not the app. My app *just* came back up.

your car will work fine without internet. The app will still unlock the car once it's in bluetooth range

I've got the same issue on both of my cars. There may be some server maintenance that will possible clear shortly. I still have access to the phone key, but just to be safe, you may want to have your card key available just in case.

Car works fine. The app still have control over Bluetooth but outside Bluetooth you would not have access. No different then most cars on the road that have poor or no app support. Sure when the serves done you may loose some creature comforts like preconditioning if you’re far away but you won’t just be locked from your car. I was still able to connect to my car and start climate before getting ready because I was in Bluetooth range.

No, that is not the case. The app has two paths - Bluetooth direct to the car if in range, and Cloud API if out of range. The car polls the cloud periodically to report-in, pick-up commands etc. if offline or the cloud is down, the car still works and so does most aspects of the app when in range. The car caches offline things like maps, models, and security configurations. Ex. parking in a deep underground parking lot with no cell access, you get similar behavior - may not be able to start climate remotely with the app, but you are able to unlock/drive using your phone when in close to your car. Feels pretty similar to not signing up for premium cell connectivity.

Car works fine, phone as a key via Bluetooth works fine, FSD will work fine, but the app via wi-fi is currently having issues.

Yeah, I got that same error message this morning, too. Basically, it's just Tesla's servers being overloaded. It didn't mess with the car itself; it just messed with the app trying to talk to their service. After about an hour, it sorted itself out, and I was back online.

A 500 Internal Server Error is a HTTP status code indicating the server encountered an unexpected condition preventing it from fulfilling a request. It is a server-side issue not related to your device.

Had my vehicle in for Service this morning when the outage happened. Service Manager asked people for their keycards to speed things along. I was in and out in 1.5 hours - even with the problem, but noticed my vehicle was showing “service mode” on the app, until the server issue got resolved.

Afaik Tesla uses AWS.

Guys I recently had this issue! Don't pay Tesla to fix it! I'm actually going to sue Tesla. Look at the screenshots as these issues were created by their 2026.2.3 update which broke my ECU and I can't charge at home! The quotes me 1100 to fix it! While they admitted the software was buggy see the photos attached! Please reach out if you're experiencing these bugs!! We can sue tesla and right now they have another lawsuit for similar issues! In 2021 they paid 1.9 million dollars for what they tried to do to me. Please if you're going through this and they're charging you, reach out. I'm actually putting them on notice to take legal action and my car is so broken now, it has weird bugs and it's the performance model and doesn't perform as well. I am demanding a new car or exposing them with the error codes I have and how I pieced together their dishonesty trying to frame software issues they created as hardware and charge us money!!!

They brick my ECU (the computer that doesn't the handshake with chargers) with 2026.2.3 and I have error codes and pieced everything together. Their service manager admitted the software is buggy and they still tried to charge me $1,100. I put them on notice and filing a complaint with the state AG and I have a whole record of error messages to prove it. It also turn off the access to the high voltage battery! I called Tesla service support to see if they could get into my car and start it and the guy said they weren’t able to start cars but he could unlock it. But then he couldn’t even do that. I have a 2018 X so I don’t have a phone key. The app appears to be working this morning so I’m gonna go back and get my car. Hopefully!
