Thank you Universe

The first time I ever sat in a Tesla was in December 2025. My cousin was showing off FSD and the whole thing was fascinating to me. I’m a late thirties male in the tech industry and I feel I was living under a rock to not know the technology was this flawless. Fast forward to today, my wife is into third week of owning the 26 MYP with outright FSD purchase. She says it is the first purchase of her life that has given her peace of mind. And I agree with her. Every other big purchase, like a house or other cars we have owned, came with some level of mental anxiety. And with two kids under the age of 7, peace of mind is a rarity. This car is her daily commuter and we have put 1000 miles in 3 weeks. This morning, I was feeling feisty and decided to switch cars with my wife and to drive it myself instead of engaging the FSD. And I must say, it is a fun car to drive as well. I was almost wishing to be the first car at a red light so that I could smoke everyone. I know I am eating up my tires in that process but that is a small price to pay for the fun and exhilaration. I came to realization today that it is an honor to have been able to afford and enjoy this car in my lifetime. From the bottom of my heart, I thank the universe for giving me the opportunity to buy and experience this mind blowing car and technology. And oh, I forgot to mention, our second car is a Honda Odyssey. Neither me nor my wife want to drive that anymore

The tires don't spin like on those other cars. They'll be okay.

XzX_z3 2026-02-25 02:00

Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve my 23 M3P, Everything just makes sense. I can't see myself going back to an ICE powered car, like, ever.

Driving the upgraded FSD makes me think about all those people out on the road who have no idea how good it is. I feel like if everyone tried to drive a Tesla and test FSD they would never go back to any other car. I fondly remember my older cars that were more luxury and I loved them and thought I’d miss but I don’t miss them and wouldn’t switch back.

Desperate-Review-727 2026-02-25 02:07

I'd imagine it wont be long before you ditch the Honda and have 2 Tesla's ;)

bj418451 2026-02-25 02:11

That day is not far my friend. I am test driving a MX this weekend. Might as well scoop it up before it’s not produced anymore in March..

Be sure to name your third child Tesla E. Musk in order to pay homage for the immense, life changing blessing you have received. ~~He~~ H3 can be an angry and whimsy deity though. Just as he giveth, he can easily taketh away. *…. Or just let him sleep with your wife. Same thing.*

bj418451 2026-02-25 02:20

I hear you. It was an MY or a Lexus NX/RX plug in hybrid. And in hindsight, it was a great decision.

Unusual-Fun8163 2026-02-25 02:20

We have a MY and M3. Won’t ever go back. Enjoy!

PhotOp123 2026-02-25 02:24

We have had our Model Y for a month with FSD and everyday i am still amazed at how good it is. Clearly a better driver then me or my wife. Yes it needs supervision for that one in a hundred situation but so do we as human drivers. When I see non FSD cars I think of them as a whole different, antiquated class of cars, they just dont realize that yet.

Captain_Klrk 2026-02-25 02:54

The real miracle is the immaculate door rattle that vanishes when it's within a mile of a service center. Praise him 🙏

Apprehensive-Jury361 2026-02-25 03:47

I traded in a 2024 TX350 with low miles and got a new MYP AWD and $8k back. Best deal i have ever made. No FSD, love driving it. My F350 is very jealous that it doesn't get driven much anymore.

[deleted] 2026-02-25 03:56

An EV is just such a smooth and quiet experience. I love it. It’s hard for me to drive ICE cars. They feel so clunky. As for being faster than anyone, line up with my M3P and I will disabuse you of that notion. And there are cars that absurdly make our cars look slow.

Relative_Building_81 2026-02-25 03:58

Ha ha, my daughter who lives with me, purchased a 2024 MY and ever since she first drove that EV home I had to have one too. 1 1/2 years later and I got my own 2026 MY and six months later put the $8,000 down on FSD for the life of my car. My former car is a Lexus RX350. I used to love that car but now it feels like such a ‘so yesterday’s car’. So, yeah, I drank the CoolAid.

FLawless______ 2026-02-25 04:01

See MS, then see MSP, then see Plaid. OPs MYP will be a unicorn on the resell market if it’s being FSD’ed 99% of time. It’ll be in such great shape at high miles.

Super_consultant 2026-02-25 05:11

You might as well put in the order now - you’re going to buy one.

vortec350 2026-02-25 07:34

Yep, once you go EV, you don't go back. And Tesla's purchase, service, mobile app, software, and FSD experience are totally fantastic. I also like GM EVs. They give you a lot of range and practicality and reliability for your money. But the purchase experience, service experience, mobile app (not free! so you pay for something that barely works) is super annoying.

bj418451 2026-02-25 09:51

You’re right. It’s the overall buying and ownership experience that just makes sense.

jameswest992000 2026-02-25 10:03

I agree. Zero buyers remorse, which is rare for me.

[deleted] 2026-02-25 12:47

It’s… just a car?

1nolefan 2026-02-25 13:44

I couldn't say this better than, but I loved my odyssey when raising kids

adtrix101 2026-02-25 14:07

That’s my issue with Tesla…the cars are fun as hell to drive. It’s nice and all with FSD but man…sometimes I just go for a full on manual drive and it’s great…

MostlyDeferential 2026-02-25 15:43

I've learned that really solid tech conveniences beat wood, soft-touch fabric, and fancy paint jobs although I wouldn't have admitted it before my MYLR with FSD(s). Have fun!

Manta6753 2026-02-25 15:54

My wife and I love our 2023 Model X, but she’s not a fan of the falcon wing doors. (You can’t just throw something in the back seat without having to wait for the door to open.) We would get another one as our next car too if Tesla didn’t discontinue them.

bj418451 2026-02-25 16:00

I agree..The cornering and acceleration, omg.. I would have to spend a lot more for a similar ICE car and compromise in a lot of areas.

sadmadtired 2026-02-25 16:03

Similar situation. God is good.

bj418451 2026-02-25 16:11

It’s a great time to be alive and certainly appreciate these experiences that delight us on this tiny speck of atomic-sized speck, we call earth, in the vast expanse of cosmic space-time..

bj418451 2026-02-25 16:16

I love my odyssey and will probably cry parting with it because of all the memories. But I think I will forget it the very next day if I buy a MX. Drag racing cars on red lights and having my kids step out in style with the falcon wing doors will bring joy in my mid-life crisis 😜

adtrix101 2026-02-25 16:41

Yup, a steal

bj418451 2026-02-25 16:58

Yes? But with higher driving-IQ than an average human. And I discovered this thing called Grok the other day. I just shared my feelings and it took me to an ice cream shop and I felt much better the rest of the day. So it’s also my therapist now.

[deleted] 2026-02-25 17:44

😱

Powerful_Low6089 2026-02-25 20:36

FSD is so good I often wonder why I see tons of Hardware Level 3 Teslas around town, but hardly any HW4s. Anyone else notice that?

dubie4x8 2026-02-26 03:31

Yes drive the AWD Cybertruck too. Much more comfortable vehicle.

bj418451 2026-02-26 11:01

I will do that. My concern is that I need a replacement for the Odyssey. Because sometimes I have to transport my family plus in-laws/parents or nieces/nephews. So additional seats come in handy.

OrderFlowsTrader 2026-02-26 15:02

Better keep one spare ICE car.

Terrible_Resource708 2026-02-26 18:18

I second you brother, I also got first tesla last week and absolutely in love with it. The only decision which has given me peace in a long time, bought very first thing for myself usually I buy things for my family.

bj418451 2026-02-26 18:35

Cheers to that brother..!

jbull-io 2026-02-28 01:57

I used to think that, too. But I realized it feels more like an extension of my phone... with wheels.

[deleted] 2026-02-28 01:58

Who the heck wants to be on their phone more lol

jbull-io 2026-02-28 01:59

Hmm, maybe you're not as excited. It's okay 🙂

[deleted] 2026-02-28 02:02

I stand by my question

jbull-io 2026-02-28 02:04

I don't know about you, but I like my phone. Maybe you use a laptop to browse Reddit. It's okay, I respect that.

[deleted] 2026-02-28 02:14

Yes I like my phone. Don’t use a laptop LOL. I just don’t need to live on or in my phone. It’s weird but certainly ok that you want to. To each their own!

BraveEyeball 2026-03-08 17:30

Boo! We’ve been Tesla only since 2020 and never ever miss ICE. We take 3000 mile round trips 5-6 times a year. My only thoughts of internal combustion are along the lines of “sooo glad I don’t have to deal with that anymore”. Your mileage may vary

OrderFlowsTrader 2026-03-08 18:33

Always kept one as a spare. EVs are great too.
