Trade MYP for Cybertruck?

Trading in a brand new car for another brand new car seems like a pretty bad financial decision. Otherwise, go for it, the Cybertruck is great.

I wish I could trade into a cyber truck . I had model X last week and love the space even though I love my Y I'm stuck in it for a few years. I really want an electric truck. one day lol . I would if it makes money sense

It would drop my monthly payment and I have trade-in credit… so no down payment…that’s the only reason I’m considering it. I guess I need to go test drive it.

It does make money sense…I’m just worried about the size and parking 😅 I would actually prefer a model x but the payment is more than I want to spend lol

I love the model X it's just me so I dont need 3 rows but I loved it. The ride was next level and I got so used to the auto closing doors. I don't know why they don't sell better and now they are cancelling it. Hopefully some of that tech comes to the Y.

If you test drive it you'll love it, and it will pain you to drive any other car without steer by wire.

We have a AWD Juniper and a CT. I’m 5’6, thin, and the seatbelt cuts into my neck on the Juniper so I have to use the little seatbelt adjuster things, but on my husband’s CT it does not. So weird. Not sure if you have the same issue, but it is one reason I prefer the CT. Steer by wire is amazing, and our 16 year old son prefers to drive the CT. (He’s 6’2’’ and likes the extra roominess + being “up” on the road) And quite frankly I feel much better about him driving in it because it’s such a freaking tank. We have two kids but with three, I would lean into the CT solely for space reasons. There is a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out where the front end is. Doesn’t take long. Sound system is mind blowing vs my Juniper. And if you have an AWD you know how amazing it already is. Def test drive one! There are a few women in our town that drive one.

Those considering the cyber truck should check with their insurance company. Many insurance companies will not ensure the cyber truck which means higher prices.

Stay with the Y unless you seriously need to do truck things. Cybertruck is comfy but so is the Juniper Y. I own one of each and if you told me I could only keep one I'd have to think very hard about which one to give up.

I’m in same boat and HEAVILY leaning towards ordering the CT on March 31, (last day for me to transfer my FSD). I did an overnight test drive a couple times and it’s amazing but def bigger. I didn’t feel comfortable doing tight maneuvering yet but that probably comes with getting used to it.

It’s certainly something to get used to. Going from a model 3 to the Cybertruck was intimidating and nerve wracking the first few drives. Now I’d prefer to drive the Cybertruck over the 3. It makes up for its size in maneuverability. But definitely take that test drive

No; that’s not obvious to anyone but an insurance broker with experience covering a cyber truck.

I have both. If I were you, I’ll keep the Juniper. Instead, You need to trade it in for the cyberbeast. The juniper you have now is superior. MYP for cyberbeast is worthed it. My 2 cents…

Two very different vehicles. trucks are a pain to park depending where you live but stopping at the convenience store and small strip malls, parking garages etc the spaces have gotten so small it's a hassle. I switched from a truck to a model 3 and love the ease of parking and just maneuvering around other cars, it's just so much more convenient. If you don't need a truck I would not buy one just my opinion after having driven trucks for probably the last 2o years or more.

Yes. I don’t want you to have a buyers remorse and being disappointed if you get that discounted Cybertruck because like I said. Your MYP is waaaaay better than that 60k Cybertruck. You will not regret it trust me. . Also, I don’t have MYP like you but I have the 2026 model Y premium AWD and trust me. My cyber beast is better but I know how you feel. 😂

Yeah I was looking at the premium CT not the new fleet one, but I really don’t need a truck, I was incentivized by the larger back seat because I have 3 kids but we rarely ever have all 3 in the back plus one will be driving in a year… I think I’ll keep my Juniper 🩷 Thank u so much for the feedback!

fun to drive for sure. this is my 3rd tesla. the first 2 were m3p's. i rsvp'ed a CT in 2019 but wanted until at least the second batch came out as i knew there would be issues. i got my 2026 AWD ct in December and its been so much fun. i do miss the thrill of 0-60 in the m3p, but the CT has its own glory and can get out of someone's way at the drop of a dime. top speed is 114 (beast is 134 i think?). i abso-smurfly love the CT. even here in LA there are not too many of them that you see them like you do other tesla models, so i like that. its a lot o' car though and its got girth, but i bet your children will love it!

Idk why youre getting down voted. For as well as the CT performance and technology, it objectively is one of the ugliest cars on the road

Ya, I love my M3LR and the design of all the other Tesla models, but my senses are assaulted by the lines on the cyber truck. It’s actually astonishing. I’ve heard they drive great.
