The weight of an average person in the US is about 185lbs. Figure that model 3 weighs 4000lbs than by that math he’s approximately -1/21th or 4.76% lighter without a person in it. I can’t imagine the seat is anywhere near as heavy as the average US adult, but 5% is a noticeable amount of torque.

I have thought about pulling the passenger seat out of my Cybertruck and experimenting with that layout for car camping. I'm too tall to lay side ways in the back seat with the rear seats flipped up, but front to back in the passenger side space might work. Cross car is about 5 ft, but from the rear bulkhead to the footwell is about 6.5 ft.

it will alert you anytime you start driving but that’s it. other than that, it doesn’t care.

If I remember correctly each front seat is 55lbs (cushion, motors etc). The entire back row bench is 65lb. I'm sure the space is less claustrophobic, and tire pressure may be off a bit. Is it faster removing that seat technically yes, but noticeably no unless you're launching every drive. Every 100–150 lbs saved shaves roughly 0.1–0.2 seconds off 0-60 mph times, and early acceleration is the only time it would be noticeable.

For more weight reduction I would remove driver seat, sunroof and steering wheel and you just fsd standing up naked in the middle of the car

My son in law messed up my car door. My husband found a used car door for $250. It was in my trunk for 3 weeks because my husband was waiting to see if the other guy’s insurance would pay. lol. I know this is a joke but I think a Model 3 in any trim would be a blast to strip, put on coilovers, sticky tires and auto cross it. To see how far down on weight you could get it and then just have that instant torque would be a blast, especially on twisties.

No way, if you've driven a M3 with and without people in it, it's day and night. It's a small enough car that the difference really is apparent.

Some of the oldest popular videos of P100DLs smoking other vehicles had them stripped down with no seats, no interior, trunk stripped, etc. Weight reduction makes it faster, but weight addition also makes it feel even more planted (less suspension bounce).

My dad has the drift air fresheners. They definitely last super long. You get used to it and think it’s not working. I got in his car and was like holy orange. He was ready to replace his and I was like no sir, you got a few weeks for sure 😅

Your car weights nearly 2T this seat maybe 20kg not much more i think in normal traffic you could maybe feel an weigt cut of 10% (200kg) but not of one percent

Remove rear seats too

Preheat the battery for 10 minutes (navigate to super) to increase the power. You will definitely feel a difference in torque. It discharges the battery faster for more power.

4 bolts holding the seat down, TP45 size (it was like 35nm to torque when installing, need to check manual again). Then you disconnect the connector (press a small tab in and pull it outward like pulling a lever) to the right body controller, and get the harness out of its place under the door trim. You'll then need a seatbelt tool to disconnect the seatbelt. The seat will be out in less than 10 minutes. If needed, official Service manual is available for anyone to see online.
