Windscreen Not Flush

foxyxgrandpaa | 2026-02-23 07:51 | 9 views

hi folks - new here. I have a 2023 model 3 and got my windscreen replaced recently & it’s not sitting flush with the moonroof glass. Is this normal? Thanks :-)

Is that an Australian dollar?

Sure is

Ah, this makes it easier to form my opinion :) It means that windshield is almost a $2 coin raised compared to the moonroof, which imo is way outside acceptable. I just looked at mine and it's flush to within the width of a $10 note. Anything more than a 5c coin and i'd be complaining.

Thank you :-) I figured. Compared to the moon- & rear-glass, there is significant difference. Appreciate your help!

Dolla dolla bill

Yes indeed. I'm not sure what that converts to in freedom moneys.

Ah, this makes it easier to form my opinion :) The Australian dollar is a stronger currency. That's also why the paper doesn't bend as much. /s

haha we don't trade in pieces of paper. Plastics all the way.

Yes it is normal. I have a friend who is a glass tech for Tesla service center. The reason for that is to prevent a possible wind noise. By raising the windshield a little bit higher than the roof glass, air naturally travels above the roof glass, preventing possible road noise/wind noise from colliding with the roof glass. Another reason is because of urethane when replacing the windshield. Due to the thickness of urethane, it'll be slightly raised compared to before, even if the tech tries to push it down all the way. Machine laying the urethane in a factory can't be the same as people in servic center.
