How many road trips do you do a year? If it’s less than 3, then no issue with all EV household. You can rent an ICE with the savings from driving EVs. We have 2 MY and a 2015 Honda Odyssey and we only use the Odyssey once in a while to get the oil flowing and prevent seals from drying out.

Why would you not take the Tesla on the road trips? We have driven 650 miles to Disney World and back multiple times. There are plenty of superchargers along I-95 at times when we would stop anyway. Big screen to entertain while we wait. Charge times are down to about 20 minutes per stop, 3 stops.

Comfort. Family packs like they going to climb Mt Everest every time we go on a roadtrip.

People can and should of course, it's just that of people can't or won't for some reason, they can always rent. That was the point I think.

I have taken my model y on many long trips and it is fine, but it will slow you down vs a gas car. I decided to keep my 16 Honda pilot with 155k miles on it and I use that for long trips, hauling and bad weather driving.

We went fully electric and it was very easy. Luckily for us our commutes were short so both cars we were able to charge between one mobile charger on slow charge. Our only regrets was not planning better on road trips. You have to add in the extra time and some times a detour. Haha but other than that, it’s been great and overall cheaper per mile with two teslas.

I hear that. Me with my one bag and then my wife and two girls 😳. I’m always loading saying “you know we are only staying 5 days?!”

Great car, but I will be trading mine in for a MY Premium. Insurance where I live is too expensive to have two cars on my policy and after test driving the MY, I'm sold on FSD. I'll find a way to deal with longer drives. Hopefully I can find superchargers wherever I go.
