Looking for Tesla technician for input

I am dealing with a major headache, that is Tesla and a windshield replacement company pointing fingers at each other. Had a third party (I know... I know.. But here we are) replace my cracked windshield. They took pictures before servicing, saying the wires had been damaged before. The odd thing is, the camera worked fine, and the car had no error codes. After the windshield was replaced, it was showing the code "autopilot / active safety features unavailable. Camera alignment required - Schedule service." The owner of the windshield company came back out to try to calibrate the camera, and it didn't work, with the error code coming right back. Took it to Tesla. They are saying I need a whole new wire harness. The individual I'm speaking with over messaging is not giving specifics, which is frustrating. They were able to confirm with me that the windshield was never replaced, which invalidates (IMO) the auto glass company's claim that the wires were damaged before they got there. I was asking Tesla specifically, what is damaged with the harness to warrant replacing, and they haven't given me an answer. They both agree that the mount is broken, but that was broken before the windshield company as their photos show that. This is looking like I will be needing to go to small claims court with the windshield company. The whole windshield will need to be replaced, which is $1700, plus the new harness parts and labor bringing things to $2700. I'm not going to eat that cost, in addition to having paid the windshield company. I am attaching the pictures here. If a technician is able to give me specifics, I will send you some money for your time and expertise. I need to have a clear picture of what specifically is the issue, and to present this to a judge. I’ll be honest I’d find another EV repair shop and take it there. I highly doubt that whole harness needs replaced. I’m sure Tesla service center just doesn’t solder connections and they would prefer to replace. $150-200 diag fee at another shop would be well worth your time IMO

Agreed. This is just a loose connection or sensor and no one wants to troubleshoot it. most likely from the installation and isn’t a big deal to fix . Prob doesn’t need solder

So, those pink butt connectors were installed very poorly.  There's supposed to be a crimp on both sides of the barrel in the center ( each crimp to hold the bare end of the wire going into it) with an actual crimp tool, not a single crimp with what looks like needle nosed pliers. Further, both ends of those connectors are supposed to be heated so they shrink around the wire and hold the connection together and make it moisture resistant.  Someone cut the harness and did an absolute shit job repairing it.  I wouldn't be surprised if they guessed which wire went with which and got them wrong.  Sorting that out requires testing that's quite frankly, an arse whipping. I don't blame Tesla for wanting to replace the harness.

You owned the car from new or bought used? That looks like someone did a half-a$$ job, probably taking power for a camera or something.

I bought it used. I bought it directly from Tesla when it was 3 years old. I believe it only had one other owner before me.

There was a Tesla branded windshield in there when they repaired it. The windshield guys are saying they doesn’t mean the work was done by Tesla. And then Tesla said they can’t tell me any work done on it before I owned it due to confidentiality

Tesla has 3d diagrams where you can see every wire in the car, it's not hard to know what goes where. Tesla is just not interested in a patch job. They will replace the damaged part. That's how it is with essentially every manufacturer.
