Amazon, $100...

N0LimitInvesting 2026-02-19 21:30

I dont get what you mean? The humidity inside of your rear light? Or what exactly

[deleted] 2026-02-19 21:31

tayl428 2026-02-19 21:32

Totalled.

Mountain_Price9245 2026-02-19 21:32

Happened in model s . In the front the “brow” went out on one side . I’m Good with that too . I might have to look at Amazon to see if they are cheaper there .

WilliamG007 2026-02-19 21:32

What is going on with your spoiler?

chmod-77 2026-02-19 21:34

Drive really fast to push it back into place.

sharonthelove 2026-02-19 21:35

what am i looking for? honest question.

Mavis389 2026-02-19 21:36

Same

Wise_Radio6213 2026-02-19 21:37

Very common on teslas your rear taillights go out

guruguys 2026-02-19 21:40

Mine did the same, delaminating on my MYP.

blk_Gh0st 2026-02-19 21:41

Yea 472$ for a light replacement is crazy….. I’d probably still pay it :(

AnnOnnamis 2026-02-19 21:41

$472 for what?? If we can’t immediately see it, must be problem with the HV battery. So just throw it away.

guruguys 2026-02-19 21:42

Condensation on tail lights I think, or the delamination on the spoiler. Both are common, both on my Model Y. Fortunately there are cheap third party tail light replacement options now - and they have gone longer without condensation than the ones Tesla replace under warranty (which also started condensation after warranty).

Malacasts 2026-02-19 21:42

New spoiler, that's a warranty. I got a new one recently

Lirfen 2026-02-19 21:44

One of the light doesn’t turn on anymore

Videoplushair 2026-02-19 21:45

They replaced mine because the clear coat was cracking and peeling. 🙏

guruguys 2026-02-19 21:46

Mine was out of main warranty so they didn't replace anything. Its a 2020 and I just removed the spoiler after awhile.

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 21:46

Half of the rear light went out in first pic. I think because it went out exactly in half that it looks normal to some

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 21:47

22’ 56k

ericloz 2026-02-19 21:48

This is why context clues are so important when showing pix.

Howry 2026-02-19 21:51

Mobile fixed mine under warranty but it was literally a 5 minute job. It is super easy to do. Buy one online and take care of it yourself.

[deleted] 2026-02-19 21:53

[deleted]

bradinphx 2026-02-19 21:57

My 2019 model 3 spoiler delaminated and they replaced it under warranty 100 miles before it expired. My 2024 model Y spoiler is starting to delaminate at 35k miles/18 months old

offwing10 2026-02-19 21:57

From experience, the condensation has killed your tail light. How long has the condensation been around for?

sevargmas 2026-02-19 21:58

I’ve seen a lot of people on here say that it will happen every year or so. They just keep filing warranty claims and keep getting a new one. I wonder if you could go to a PPF shop and have them wrap it?

bradinphx 2026-02-19 21:58

Buy a used light off ebay from someone parting out a front end wrecked model 3

tameimponda 2026-02-19 22:00

Nothing to look at because the car is totalled

WilliamG007 2026-02-19 22:00

I meant bottom edge. Is that the attachment tape?

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 22:01

time to sell for scraps 😔

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 22:02

You know ball

sharonthelove 2026-02-19 22:03

I see thank you! I get it too but mine goes away.

Slow-Beginning-5885 2026-02-19 22:05

That sucks

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 22:05

Yeah, just out of reach for warranty unfortunately for me 😞

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 22:08

Not sure maybe 1 week. Its been raining heavy in west coast so maybe that was the tipping point

YoungSquidd 2026-02-19 22:10

What’s up with that spoiler tho?

SonicDethmonkey 2026-02-19 22:10

This is why I hate unpainted carbon on body parts. For a normal daily driver, parked outside and exposed to the elements, they will always end up looking like crap.

South_Dakota_Boy 2026-02-19 22:12

Mines not delaminating but is, like, abraded away from wind. ‘22M3P. I thought about making a warranty claim but i didn’t get to it and now im just over my 5 years.

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 22:13

Half of rear left light went out. 2nd pic is normal for reference

aspec818 2026-02-19 22:14

That spoiler looks a lot worse than the wet taillights

AP_in_Indy 2026-02-19 22:19

I thought I was looking at a sun reflection or something. A night photo would have been better.

Videoplushair 2026-02-19 22:19

That’s a good idea I gotta look into that. It’s super ugly when it starts peeling.

clef75 2026-02-19 22:21

Almost anything other than what was posted would have been better

AdditionalLead7265 2026-02-19 22:40

A light burned out, how tragic and oddly specific to just Tesla

AdditionalLead7265 2026-02-19 22:40

You kinda have to by law anyway

commops106 2026-02-19 22:49

Mine delaminated a month after they replaced it these are garbage quality. They should be treated with a UV coating from the factory. The double sided tape showing on yours I would be more upset about.

NeitherBook2698 2026-02-19 22:51

Looks like the taillight seal failed. That’ll do it

mazsive 2026-02-19 23:04

I have a huge leak on my rear left light. Getting it replaced for free on Monday.

bradbomb 2026-02-19 23:04

What year Model 3 is this? I had some of my rear lights go out on my 2018 M3 and it was actually because of the faulty trunk cable harness that has a recall. I hadn't had it done and put in the request to get it done before I ordered replacement lights as I was out of warranty. I was telling the mobile technician that came out to do the service that the lights were the reason why I'm getting it done and he tried telling me the recalls is only because the rear camera connection, not the lights. However, upon replacement, my lights worked again. [https://www.tesla.com/support/model-3-trunk-lid-harness-retrofit](https://www.tesla.com/support/model-3-trunk-lid-harness-retrofit)

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 23:04

Yeah you’re right

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 23:08

Will do 🫡

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 23:11

Idk i kinda was never bothered by it but you’re right. The sun is bound to mess with it anyways.

Heyyliz 2026-02-19 23:11

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-19 23:15

Oof hopefully you got warranty still 🫡

Heyyliz 2026-02-19 23:18

Nope. Gonna have to snag one online and change it out myself too :’)

BushLeaguePsychOStuf 2026-02-19 23:26

Next time write what we are looking at.

ngvuanh 2026-02-19 23:36

The spoiler will need replaced too 😀

CarbonKLR 2026-02-19 23:46

Good reason to swap out to aftermarket spoiler and taillights

EconomicsElegant1423 2026-02-19 23:48

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

moonkingdome 2026-02-19 23:53

Yur yesla turn rwed?

SamPinsky20 2026-02-19 23:55

Scuffed spoiler?

Own_Captain_3716 2026-02-19 23:59

Same thing happened to my headlight. Tesla wants $1500+ hard pass

Famous_Ad7312 2026-02-20 00:03

Complete DIY project

UnderdevelopedFurry 2026-02-20 00:05

I guess a lot of people on this sub don’t know the trunk lights don’t stay water resistant forever. These two are flooded, wow!

FleshlightBike 2026-02-20 00:08

Don’t skimp out on the cheap eBay replacements. I bought one and it was fogged up within a months time

youngeshmoney 2026-02-20 00:11

It's just fogged up, probably moisture in the connector, let it dry out and see if it works again.

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-20 00:13

Whats a fair price?

Michael-Brady-99 2026-02-20 00:15

Used off eBay perhaps? In this day and age, that’s actually cheap for a new tail light.

BigAssMonkey 2026-02-20 00:17

I see. Seriously, some of the posters need to be less vague.

Wise-Angle2013 2026-02-20 00:27

I am been coating mine with a good quality carbon or ceramic glaze and so far no issues. Two years in. I also live in Virginia so don’t have the crazy heat. Garage kept.

minotthebestbaseever 2026-02-20 00:35

You need to drive better

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-20 00:51

huh?

OpenAssumption5713 2026-02-20 00:51

Yeah 56k now, expired on 50k

WasASailorThen 2026-02-20 00:51

Maybe some trade-in value for a CyberTruck.

Bulky_Ad6384 2026-02-20 00:51

Bro. 1) light isn’t working 2) fog inside the rear light Yall must be blind

Millyan-512 2026-02-20 00:57

I have a tinted one from when I swapped to some sequentials.

It looks like the condensation build up in the light housing killed it

Aggressive_Ad_5454 2026-02-20 01:14

Is this a model 3 thing? My model S jalopy (10 years) hasn’t done this yet here in Maine where it lives outdoors in the winter storms. It’s shown up some other longevity defects, but not this one. Lights seem robust. Anybody know? My problems: seized brakes, S motorized door handle foolishness, battery coolant low alert, banged up front suspension. That sort of stuff happens to all cars around here though, except for the door handle bit.

Complex_Arrival7968 2026-02-20 01:18

Just a little tire dressing on a rag, wipe the spoiler down with it after every wash.

allenjshaw 2026-02-20 01:24

Buy a light online, pay any competent monkey to install it. It’s two screws and a connector. TBH I’m more concerned about your spoiler falling off!

JayneDough25 2026-02-20 01:30

Replace it. I did on my old one. 75 bucks on eBay and a you tube video is all u need. Simple 15 min fix.

W3HAPPYF3W 2026-02-20 01:47

Could be the detaching of the rear carbon lip spoiler

Sir-Logic-Ho 2026-02-20 01:47

Oh I thought he was talking about the condensation

guruguys 2026-02-20 01:58

The spoiler on the 2020 MYP is just stuck on with adhesive. It looks fine without it. I still have the 'red' calipers to give some hints of it being performance edition.

Sleepinkoalas 2026-02-20 01:59

Very easy to replace taillights yourself. I have a 3rd party full length light bar on mine, which I did myself over 3 years ago. Never had a problem with it. \*knock on wood\*

SilverFoxKes 2026-02-20 02:36

Bargain price compared to the headlights. In the UK, the pre-refresh Model S headlights - with a known weakness for DRL burnout - are the equivalent to more than $1600 each (part only, fitting is extra) as Tesla only sell the whole sealed units. Faulty DRLs must be replaced to avoid failing our annual MoT check required to drive on our roads. Despite Tesla knowing of this issue many years, they have not got the components changed. As a result, these expensive new replacement units are just as likely to burn out in another few years. For us, this is one of those situations where refurbs by an independent expert are better than brand new manufacturer’s parts. For me this was a half day 120 mile round trip while-u-wait appointment which was well worth the effort. II got both mine done for the equivalent to $800 total, including fitting, and the replaced components are better than the original so they should never burn out again. As our cars mature (and especially in the case of discontinued models), independents are becoming increasingly common, much better value, and higher quality than the manufacturer for many scenarios.

RealTreyTesla 2026-02-20 02:47

Tesla replaced mine for free a month ago same issue. Hasn’t came back with new assembly

FleshlightBike 2026-02-20 03:03

I paid $89. That didn’t last. At least more than that

jarias21646 2026-02-20 03:06

Uncommon but sometimes if you disconnect your HV battery wait around 10 mins and plug it back in. The light will restart and it will go back to normal. This happened to me before.

MisterBumpingston 2026-02-20 04:47

I thought that’s the issue OP had, and what’s with the tape b below on both ends?

stainedhat 2026-02-20 05:35

Delamination. Mine has been replaced twice now. I've also had my tail lights replaced twice and the left one is full of condensation again. Gotta love Tesla parts quality

N0LimitInvesting 2026-02-20 06:37

Got it, replace it with one from Amazon. Its because of the humidity inside.

SavedByTech 2026-02-20 06:51

This is one of these things is not like the other puzzles, right?

Tekk92 2026-02-20 06:54

Buy an used one? Never seen that before honestly..

Krioyo_custom 2026-02-20 08:38

I thought your spoiler was loose or flaking…

IDNWID_1900 2026-02-20 09:30

Carbon fibre: I can withstand more stress that almost any material on Earth. Also carbon: Boss, please, no more direct sunlight or cold, I am desintegrating :(

Different_Push1727 2026-02-20 09:55

There has been a recall for the wire harness because of this. Mine was replaced free of charge (EU) preventatively 3 years ago.

DaHunni 2026-02-20 10:00

There's a guy on youtube who fixes those in the oven. You basically find the leak, seal it with glue, dry it out in the oven and thats it. The problem is not tesla specific btw. cars with similar lights have the same problem.

wsila 2026-02-20 10:39

Same, I thought the spoiler was kinda funky.

YouKidsGetOffMyYard 2026-02-20 13:47

like $90 used on ebay or Amazon has some new non oem replicas (that actually look just fine) for about the same price.

EternalHistory 2026-02-20 13:55

Just get one off eBay. It’s a 5 minute install.

SonicDethmonkey 2026-02-20 15:22

I have the same problem with suede/alcantara on steering wheels. Looks good new, and feels nice, but have another look in 20k after the average fast food-while-driving consumer had their grubby mitts rubbing on it on a daily basis. lol We keep paying extra for “race car stuff” that companies convinced us that we should want but actually is a PITA to live with long term.

Illyrian2000BC 2026-02-20 16:19

what is this that didn’t see nothing lol

Illyrian2000BC 2026-02-20 16:20

😂

SufficientSwim141 2026-02-20 17:00

Mine did the same immediately after warranty, so I'm in the process of getting aftermarket tailights

CherryFairy66 2026-02-20 21:51

Tesla trash.

AreaPlayful142 2026-02-20 22:59

Ok_Contact_5940 2026-02-21 14:45

They should take the photo to show both lights in one shot.
