Buy now or wait until end of Q1 for additional deals? Does Tesla Finance honour post-purchase offers?

I'm thinking of getting a MY or MYP - I'm ready to place an order now but wanted to see if Tesla will do any more offers before March 31, 2026 (end of Q1). I'm planning to trade in my 2018 Model 3 LR RWD (with FSD). On other Reddit threads, it seems like Tesla allows customers to get the better rates/offers to their existing orders before delivery. Is that a norm? If so, I might as well place my order now so I don't have to wait an additional 1.5 months to see what happens? I'm in Canada - our rates are horrible at 4.74% compared to new 0.99% offers in the US. Thoughts? :) Thanks everyone!

The financing is with a third party bank, not Tesla. Don’t think Tesla will go the extra yard to refinance with a different bank on your behalf.

Transfer of FSD ends 3/31 if I am not mistaken. I would time it to take delivery well before then. My order from "inventory" was on 1/31 delivery window 2/6 - 2/19 I got a status update today the vehicle is back to in production with new delivery window 2/21- 3/6 ymmv....

I would always recommend waiting until end of quarter unless they are running a special now that appeals to you.

They changed the language from take delivery by 3/31 to order by 3/31 for FSD transfer.

Many people on Reddit have shared that Tesla has updated their financing to the new rates since it’s dropped (if they haven’t taken delivery yet). Of course it’s customer-initiated, but it seems like a trend. Not sure if that’s a norm or not.

I’m in the same position. Coming from a 2018 Model 3 LR RWD with FSD placed my order about 1 month ago, for a Model Y Premium AWD. I forgo the Perfomance, becuae i didnt want the staggered wheels and AWD is already and upgrade from the RWD. I was able to ask for the APR change while waiting for my order. So you can always order now and change the terms before delivery/pick-up.

Ah, so you did already place your order. I guess asking for an APR change is pretty common? Like Tesla seems to be very willing to update it if you haven't taken delivery? u/bambino646

I had a friend pick up recently and they did the APR change on the spot while inspecting the vehicle. Took about one hour for the change to go through (assuming good credit...)

Ah got it, nice to know they're flexible like that.
