I’ve gotten to a charger with -1%. 4 miles doesn’t even include the ~15 miles or so of reserve

Lordzato 2026-02-18 03:19

You haven’t seen true anxiety until -1%

SpringHealsJim 2026-02-18 03:26

Could’ve gone to get a coffee

Impressive_Jury_2211 2026-02-18 03:29

I got to 1% in big bear and I was soooooo happy I was going all down hill. Made it home with 3%

Empty_Buffalo_2820 2026-02-18 03:32

They have CRAZY buffer I got like 20 extra miles on mine.

Krunk83 2026-02-18 03:43

Going to a gas station is your real problem 😉.

Balancedone_1 2026-02-18 03:44

You need a lil something to take the edge off.

dantodd 2026-02-18 03:48

Can't buy a Red Bull at the charger

battlepanda_au 2026-02-18 04:05

This picture brings me so much anxiety 😬

DigitalJEM 2026-02-18 04:05

No range anxiety here. Since August 17th,2021 when I got my first Tesla, I have navigated to everywhere when on trips and the computer figures it out. I’ve never worried about it and I’ve never been stranded. Sometimes it’s calculated arrival at 2-3% and it’s been spot on every time.

Deep-Listen-8909 2026-02-18 04:12

Had Tesla six years and never got that low until I hit 1% on Sunday, never had so much anxiety trying to make it home. Wanted to speed to hurry but slow down to minimize drain, turned off the heat, put it on chill mode and just made it 😰. That was the worst feeling.

TacoBender920 2026-02-18 04:20

There's just something fun about driving for an hour and arriving at your destination with more "gas" than you had when you started driving.

Impressive_Jury_2211 2026-02-18 04:28

Don’t be fooled I’m not buying another POS tesla once my lease is up.

scohen158 2026-02-18 04:31

What issues have you had? I’m 6 months into owning mine and it’s been great.

Impressive_Jury_2211 2026-02-18 04:35

FSD is extremely glitchy, the day I got it the alignment was off so I had to take it to Tesla. Then FSD had me way to close to the left lane all the time so back to Tesla to get it fixed. Then I had that “clean camera” so FSD didn’t work so back to Tesla. Then the TPMS sensors didn’t work or calibrate after a tire rotation so I had to take it back to Tesla. Honestly at this point il a problematic Silverado it’s actually more reliable

JinSecFlex 2026-02-18 04:45

You unfortunately got a bad luck of the draw (it’s inexcusable at the price range, don’t get me wrong). You described my first experience with Tesla and I lemoned my first model 3 in 6 months. Got into a BMW after, realized Tesla is about 5 years ahead of OEMs in terms of UX and tech, and am having a lovely time with my juniper Y now. No issues at all (knock on wood).

Impressive_Jury_2211 2026-02-18 04:48

Currently in the process of getting out of the tesla. I don’t need to lemon law it. Since I’m in the military I can use my military orders to get out of the lease without any repercussions. I’m waiting for my BMW M4 to be built and delivered then ima get out of the Tesla

Less-Manufacturer579 2026-02-18 04:48

I had 0% and 2km (weird I know sorry for being from Aus) No AC for the last 45 minutes Good feeling seeing my driveway

CaptainRelevant 2026-02-18 05:31

If you leased the Tesla after your orders started, that may not work. It will work If you’re first enlisting/commissioning, getting deployed, or mobilized. PCS’ing or reenlisting might work if you get a new order cut.

JinSecFlex 2026-02-18 05:31

Enjoy the Bimmer! They’re great cars - I think you’ll end up missing some of the creature comforts if you’re like me - but the M4 is a bad ass car so maybe not! Enjoy it in good health :)

1SaBoy 2026-02-18 05:39

Rookie numbers get those numbers lower

menntu 2026-02-18 05:41

No bathrooms either. That seems like a flaw.

SF_E60M5 2026-02-18 05:41

Years ago when I had my i3 I was sweating bullets one time at 1 mile left. I thought for sure it was going to die on me. I was focused so much on getting to the charger I didn’t roll the windows down boy was I sweating 😅🥵

mikeyfender813 2026-02-18 05:51

I just bought my MY in December, and my wife (who has had a model S for about 8 years) makes fun of my range anxiety when I get below 50%. Last summer, we were in Arizona in a rented ICEV trying to get from the middle of nowhere by the border to Tombstone, and there were NO service stations anywhere. I was coasting as much as I could to save fuel. Talk about range anxiety. That was an ICE vehicle and I’ve never felt it worse.

Impressive_Jury_2211 2026-02-18 05:51

Don’t worry buddy I know how it works been in 17 years.

Impressive_Jury_2211 2026-02-18 05:51

Thanks for the blessing. ❤️

MustangV6Premium 2026-02-18 06:52

Does the display actually show -1%? Or is that just on the map

Bresson91 2026-02-18 07:25

Oh man if we only had a Seinfeld episode about it...

tycket 2026-02-18 07:28

yall get way lower than what im comfortable with, lowest ive gotten to was 11%

nerveneck 2026-02-18 08:23

my dads car died at 1 mile thinking he’d make it because of reserve or wtvr

Far_Release_4594 2026-02-18 08:28

Last month I got to 0% and was 5 miles from home. I panicked the entire way. I made it home and will never do that again.

yankykiwi 2026-02-18 10:02

I went all the way to another tiny city without a charge forgetting that I need to get home. Ended up heading up to the mountains to charge, with a newborn. There was no pull over stops, and there was no turning around. I was shocked I arrived in the snow with only a few miles left. Never again. Range anxiety is better than whatever I went through.

johnhuynh2 2026-02-18 10:11

z3ln 2026-02-18 10:30

I consistently drive past below 0%

FromAndToUnknown 2026-02-18 11:42

Recharging while driving downhill is basically standard for all electric cars by now, that's not "tesla-exclusive".

ghdana 2026-02-18 13:14

Exactly the behavior I'd expect from a Jayson.

19firedude 2026-02-18 13:24

Just on the map and on the Energy app. The charge level in the top corner will only count down to 0%.

Phantom3269 2026-02-18 13:51

That’s why I always use GPS. The computer will warn you if you cannot make your destination on the current charge.

Tasty_Action5073 2026-02-18 13:52

Red Bull doesn’t give Tesla wings. Focus, You need to charging station.

Phantom3269 2026-02-18 13:54

Precisely. I question people that run out of battery just like folks stranded on the side of the road because they ran out of gas. Despite all the warnings. I can’t even count the number of idiots Ive seen having to get towed to a supercharger. Really doesn’t make sense.

D1TAC 2026-02-18 13:57

Honestly the lower you go the more impressive the Tesla gets to charge. I typically like being around 5%.

kftnyc 2026-02-18 14:19

I once got to a charger at 1 mile of range and drove around the parking lot till it hit zero.

Arthvpatel 2026-02-18 15:02

Or 20km past 0

moyvetsky 2026-02-18 15:05

Dude… you should try 0 miles…. And pulling into the garage 5 miles after that 😜

Armaced 2026-02-18 15:05

The Silverado EV is an impressive vehicle, but I could never have one. I’d be stuck singing “Desperado” every time I saw my truck.

thegreatestd 2026-02-18 15:11

Get that 0 miles 😈

Big_Fortune_4574 2026-02-18 15:18

Gotta fill that baby up with 93

Romelo84 2026-02-18 15:19

How’s your knees big sarge

DinoTh3Dinosaur 2026-02-18 15:31

You might have a lemon cause I have literally never experienced a single of these issues in years of driving Tesla

akolozvary 2026-02-18 15:37

I managed to hold off charging until I hit 1% when I was traveling from Orlando to Jacksonville

MustangV6Premium 2026-02-18 15:39

I'm curious, what were the conditions? Was it in extreme cold? Were they traveling fast? A/C on Manual instead of auto or off?

DrewChrist87 2026-02-18 16:32

I wanted to do that so badly with like an Aston Martin or Lamborghini when I was in and knew I was going on orders soon.

Austinswill 2026-02-18 17:01

U gave always wondered how this is any different from being in an ICE car with the fuel light on.... At least you know more exactly.

Some_Map4879 2026-02-18 19:31

Charge it 🤣

Realistic-Sort-4564 2026-02-18 19:53

Display will show it, it’s happened to me

nerveneck 2026-02-18 21:18

everything off normal conditions super low speeds. He’d never let his car get so low so I assume it was bms not being calibrated. he mentioned that it shot from 5 to 1 mile left within a mile which would support bms theory

MustangV6Premium 2026-02-18 21:20

Interesting….Does he have an LFP battery or normal lithium ion? What year / model car and what mileage? Does he charge to 100 every so often? Sorry I’m asking so many questions I’m just trying to see what factors may have caused a BMS miscalibration

jxl180 2026-02-18 21:50

The estimated arrival showed -1% but actual energy was 0%. I was on 0% for 10 minutes doing as much regen as I could muster and driving super slow lol

nerveneck 2026-02-18 22:02

NCA 21700 and fremont iirc? and he’s charged to 100% maybe once. All batteries have voltage drop off but NCA has slightly more making it easier for bms to read as voltage values across each % aren’t as similar. 22’ probably 100k miles around the time more than double now

Kind_Membership_1892 2026-02-18 22:16

I love my Tesla as a car, but the fuckin range is the worst

juanken 2026-02-18 23:29

Someone tested MY2026 can go 20km more below 0% 😅

Neat_Welcome6203 2026-02-19 01:39

I gotta go up & down the 18/330 at high SoC because I have a "bad" habit of going Ryosuke Takahashi on that shit

SquisherX 2026-02-19 03:27

For people who really want to push the limit - you can open the charge app to see the state of charge to an extra decimal place. Brought it home with 0.2%.

Go_halos 2026-02-19 03:55

https://preview.redd.it/jmzoebdnjdkg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d62a99318415d664f3b69a760b62b0aaf547163c No such thing as range anxiety!!! You buy the car learn the car

Lifeofthedon 2026-02-19 04:51

Doing 25mph to a super charger and finding out it’s out of service

Zeronova3 2026-02-19 08:55

I was here once and thought the universe was caving in on me.

juicygoods 2026-02-19 10:51

The charge app?

SquisherX 2026-02-19 12:57

I'm not around my car right now, so I'm going my memory. In your car, there is an app that is a green icon, maybe it has a white lightning bolt in it. If you click that you can get details like what your exact state of charge is, what is impacting your usage rate (wind, driving habits, elevation, AC use, ect).

yomomma005 2026-02-19 13:46

It’s like 10% battery. You’re good bro

mrcryptoboy 2026-02-19 15:14

https://preview.redd.it/11b2liqswgkg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2120dacb7b7ea83c3ef87bcf299b3a90489f1de9 range anxiety? what’s that?

SunofaBaker 2026-02-19 15:17

-3 is where you die don’t ask how I know MYP22’

cerazo52 2026-02-19 16:49

There’s a -1%?? That’s hilarious

juicygoods 2026-02-19 17:36

Oh yes! I thought you meant a phone app. Thank you. You’re correct

Lordzato 2026-02-19 17:53

Until its you at -1% guessing if you will make it to the supercharger

CarbonKLR 2026-02-19 22:00

1 percent for me! I thought I would have to whip out the ecoflow with solar panel, and charge on side of road for a day

cerazo52 2026-02-19 22:50

For sure, I just mean the metric itself is funny

Jubby_1982 2026-02-20 06:32

I ran on zero miles / 0% for 8 miles once. Seems there is a good amount of hidden battery charge.

jaywoof94 2026-02-21 04:37

I’m at 93% FSD use. I’ve no issues whatsoever in my Juniper MYP. Surprised to hear about all these issues. I’ve owned 3 MY’s and they’ve all been great.

Few-Wolverine-7283 2026-02-24 20:54

First off, don't be a psycho - use % not miles. Second off - if you haven't hit 0%, you haven't tried hard enough.
