I’ll guess it’ll be few on Reddit. I hope to never own or need a minivan

Stt022 2026-02-16 23:30

I’ve been saying a Suburban like 3 row suv on the cyber truck chassis would sell like crazy.

shaggy99 2026-02-16 23:30

I am not in the market for a new vehicle, (I can't afford one) but I'd like to see one. Not sure if I think a Sprinter replacement or something like the KIA PV5/7 would be more saleable. I really don't think the Robovan we saw is a good idea.

Hockeyshot39 2026-02-16 23:30

That or the model YL

Costco_Bob 2026-02-16 23:30

I would prefer a wagon just take a model yL and dont slope the back down but then again im not sure there is going to be much difference from a wagon to a minivan

Hidavi 2026-02-16 23:32

They made one. It's called a Model X. Unfortunately it's discontinued.

50Target 2026-02-16 23:33

Yes, but it has to have a real, realizable, range (not the Tesla marketed one) of 400+ miles to make it worth it. A minivan that sucks at road trips is not worth it. I have a MY now and only miss my minivan on trips.

Suvi2k 2026-02-16 23:34

Model X is somewhat like a minivan 🚐

P00shy_ 2026-02-16 23:37

They should have. Ended up getting a Sienna instead.

Metzhead 2026-02-16 23:38

Yes, but I would like it to be made by Ford

dreamerOfGains 2026-02-16 23:39

I suggest you look up what’s a minivan

Capital-Control308 2026-02-16 23:39

Zestyclose_Paint3922 2026-02-16 23:42

You would have taken Elon to the trillion if you were in the Team that sadly decided to go for the Cyberteuck. That’s genius.

AffectionateCry7459 2026-02-16 23:43

Me ASAP

akosikalantiaw 2026-02-16 23:43

We might get a PV5 when it arrives in the US but I’d rather get a Tesla if they release one! The falcon wings are cool but I think sliding doors are more practical.

ALargeHotCarl 2026-02-16 23:44

I’d buy 2. Minivans get a lot of shit but with a bunch of small kids, can’t beat it.

shenfever 2026-02-16 23:44

If your children don’t have legs

ForTheB0r3d 2026-02-16 23:46

Yes please.

shenfever 2026-02-16 23:47

You’d think someone who is creepily obsessed with procreation would make a vehicle to haul large families around

Fun-Sundae4060 2026-02-16 23:47

That’s an SUV and smaller than a minivan.

mushyspider 2026-02-16 23:47

A minivan can hold an 8x4’ piece of plywood laying flat behind the front seats.

Fun-Sundae4060 2026-02-16 23:48

Lucid made the Gravity SUV (Minivan actually) and it’s SICK. 1000hp+ Sucks that Tesla still hasn’t made one.

najibs172r 2026-02-16 23:49

Same. I have a Model Y and was looking to replace my 12 year old Sienna. Ended up getting another Sienna.

yankykiwi 2026-02-16 23:51

Nah, but I am hoping for a soccer mom car that’s not hideous.

Zachjsrf 2026-02-16 23:51

I meaaaaaan the X filled that niche, anx the Y L is coming out

mchinsky 2026-02-16 23:53

I would love one, but unfortunately they need a traditional SUV before they need a minivan because people hate the stigma of a minivan even though they are way more practical than an SUV

nekowokaburu 2026-02-16 23:54

A minivan that can carry a sheet of plywood like the Honda Odyssey.

Vinnie908 2026-02-16 23:54

No thanks.

1nolefan 2026-02-16 23:54

I want Tesla SUV to take on R2 from Rivian as well as Toyota Highlander

mchinsky 2026-02-16 23:55

No, it doesn't, if you own the minivan you would know how much more space they have and how much more usable the third row is for passengers, the Chrysler minivan is the best in that you can fold the second row and third row seats down into the floor. Having a huge open cavern, that would be very hard for Tesla to do, ignoring existing patents that Chrysler has, because of where the batteries have to be

shenfever 2026-02-16 23:55

The third rows in both are useless

dirtyslov21 2026-02-16 23:56

Sienna army unite. We also have a used sienna. Will run it till it dies lol.

Hyperafro 2026-02-16 23:57

Love the urban camo look too!

JRskatr 2026-02-16 23:58

Unfortunately it looks like Elon is losing his interest in cars.. I hope they replace him with someone who can continue the car brand and keep making new models 😊

TowElectric 2026-02-16 23:59

Take the Cybertruck chassis and just bolt on an Escalade/Suburban SUV body and three full rows of seats. It'll sell like crazy. They won't do it because they want to make cars with no steering wheels. Sigh. Almost all of the complaints about the CT were the steel shell, the plastic trim and/or using it as a "heavy duty truck", none of which apply to a Suburban/Yukon lookalike. It would be an incredible chassis for that.

OfficialAlbae 2026-02-17 00:00

I wanna get my mom away from the Honda odyssey so we need something to replace that

PrivateMarkets 2026-02-17 00:02

Lucid Gravity folks. Although it doesn’t have sliding doors or look like a minivan from most angles - there isn’t another car on the market that better uses every inch for passengers or cargo. Same room as a Tahoe (for passengers and cargo)

joergonix 2026-02-17 00:04

Honestly, it makes just too much sense for Tesla. Their design aesthetic fits the Minivan look so well. The cybertruck was their poor attempt at a more aggressive masculine design language and it's been largely panned if not completely hated. With the X and S gone and the 3 row model y just not cutting it for larger families a minivan makes so much more sense than to have to make another attempt at a more rugged / masculine looking larger SUV. I also think that between Cadillac, Rivian, and Kia the larger EV SUV market is well served (don't get me wrong I would love to see Tesla make a good try at a true large SUV). Honestly, the real huge swing and miss in my opinion was not making the taxi more of a minivan format. Bring a platform to market available in a 4 seater open concept shortened for taxi service model and a 7 seater longer wheel base minivan and it would be a hit. Give the 4 seater taxi just sliding doors (great for tight spaces), and then give the mini van the sliders in the rear like a normal minivan. The taxi could also ditch the rear hatch to save cost and weight. It's the perfect form factor and would allow a ton of cost savings by sharing a lot of components.

glaciers4 2026-02-17 00:05

I completely agree

najibs172r 2026-02-17 00:06

I wish I could have kept mine going. It was starting to have issues

Accomplished_Sky_899 2026-02-17 00:08

It would be game over. At the dealership two days ago, a service advisor said that there is currently “an internal rumor” that they are in fact working on something. This has been a rumor before, but it was interesting hearing it from an employee.

katger18 2026-02-17 00:08

OMG! I went to Chicago Auto show and went straight to Tesla to ask the reps when are they gonna produce a minivan!? And they don't know. I am still very hopeful though...

Bright_Mix_3449 2026-02-17 00:08

I think it maxes around 800 hp.

serega_12 2026-02-17 00:09

If they did, we wouldn't get the 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ Sport. Glad we did though!

Kilo_Juliett 2026-02-17 00:10

I do. I feel like they could make a modular van platform. One for consumers and one for commercial. And I guess there can also be one for the #VanLife people.

Bright_Mix_3449 2026-02-17 00:10

Its nice but very minivan like

Fun-Sundae4060 2026-02-17 00:12

I saw a video with over 1000hp but maybe it’s not available for sale right now. Probably Dream or Sapphire trim

CousinEddysMotorHome 2026-02-17 00:12

If they had a Tahoe id be all over it. I need the space, 3 kids and I want a Tesla true SUV.

PrivateMarkets 2026-02-17 00:14

It’s really well built and closure in stature to an RS6

CousinEddysMotorHome 2026-02-17 00:15

The S and X had terrible sales numbers to keep the lines running. The Y and 3 are some of the top selling cars on the planet. Its an obvious move. I just want a true tesla suv like a tahoe. Please keep betting against Elon, its fun to watch.

jobfedron132 2026-02-17 00:19

Having a body shaped like anything is just 1 part of the puzzle. Anybody can do that. The challenge is making it aerodynamic and accommodating the "technology salad" that Elon wants to put in his car. Elon does not want to do things traditionally like how normal companies do, then they end up with a unique design with some unique challenges that no one has solved. That's how you got the cyberjunk, instead of a normal truck built for utility. MY and M3 was a purpose built car without any added garbage and it sold well.

RomaCorp 2026-02-17 00:31

![gif](giphy|hyyV7pnbE0FqLNBAzs|downsized)

ipokesnails 2026-02-17 00:31

If they sold it, I would have bought a Tesla minivan instead of two Model 3's.

diaperpoop_ 2026-02-17 00:33

We totally want a Sienna too, or an Odyssey. My wife and I have had multiple discussions but we can’t let go of the convenience features with our Y. Oh and also the crazy price and wait times for getting a Sienna too. Haha

daewootech 2026-02-17 00:37

Would it? Sounds like your taking a $100k vehicle and adding two rows of seats, more roof, more glass, more seat restraints etc, etc. plus more weight which means less range, more expensive, I know people will buy but not model y numbers, maybe s/x type of niche numbers in the tens of thousands. I would love a cyberburban or even a legit third row extended model y, but I feel like Cybertruck is already a hard sell as someone who has a day 1 reservation the combo of price hike, and low range has had me on the ropes waiting for a price drop for months, adding more to it isn’t gonna help.

jgilbs 2026-02-17 00:40

I can fit my kids, and the grandparents in the back

Rxyro 2026-02-17 00:44

Mars repopulation strategy right here

SnooHesitations1020 2026-02-17 00:47

I would've - if it had been 10 years ago, when our children were younger. But now, I want a sporty small urban Tesla hatchback. One for my wife, and one for me.

LQTPharmD 2026-02-17 00:48

Lucid Gravity is as close as it gets right now I got one after my m3p and its been amazing

LQTPharmD 2026-02-17 00:49

My gravity is a road trip beast. I havent touched my model 3 in a while.

LQTPharmD 2026-02-17 00:50

I have a gravity. Its waaaaay bigger inside than the rs6.

PrivateMarkets 2026-02-17 00:52

I agree. I have a Gravity Dream and it’s a masterpiece in space management. I was referring to aesthetics - looks more tall wagon than minivan. No one (outside of Reddit) has ever said that at car shows and other venues where crowds have gathered.

Yeah when you drop it low it reminds me a bit of the old dodge magnum but way better looking.

FIREGenZ 2026-02-17 00:58

When I was looking around, they wanted some crazy markup as well. I ended up just buying a used one.

_-o- 2026-02-17 00:59

minivan, full size cargo & SUV, RV, dump trucks, farm equipment, speedboats, yacts, cargo ships, cell phone, whatever

ALargeHotCarl 2026-02-17 01:00

Unless it’s got sliding doors, I’m out! 😂

JT-Av8or 2026-02-17 01:01

It’s called Model X. 🤷‍♂️

PrivateMarkets 2026-02-17 01:03

It’s also a great car for surprising everyone at stop lights. No one knows what it is

weaselgx 2026-02-17 01:08

Yes will buy Tesla minivan. The Model X 3rd row is too small to fit regular sized people

Suvi2k 2026-02-17 01:10

Haha well it’s the closest thing and sorta looks like a mix of suv and van imo

rupeshjoy852 2026-02-17 01:11

Depends on the price. If it's around 50-60k, yes. If it's going to be 80k, then nope!

Queasy-Bed545 2026-02-17 01:13

Yes, but that’s because they’re expensive and stale. It’s true, Tesla looks seriously bored by making good cars. They’re realizing it’s hard to stay at the leading edge in the market.

jawfur 2026-02-17 01:13

Without autosteer? no thanks

rupeshjoy852 2026-02-17 01:13

Why do you think they had terrible sales? Luxury SUV's and Sedans are still selling well. When you keep the lineup unchanged for a long time, people lose interest. Hell I see more BMW iX and i4's than the S or X. They needed to update it, even if it's just in looks, they started to feel dated.

diaperpoop_ 2026-02-17 01:19

In our area, there’s one dealer willing to sell the Sienna at MSRP, but they have a year’s worth of wait list. The other dealers wanted around $15k markup. Not to mention they’re already expensive to begin with. Our switch-the-car meter is already filling up mainly due to needing more space with baby#2. We’ll definitely go the used route as well if we do.

FIREGenZ 2026-02-17 01:20

I definitely recommend used. We got ours couple years old with 42k miles which is nothing on a Toyota. Couple cosmetic things but pretty solid regardless. I think we paid around $34k out the door.

ImAtWurk 2026-02-17 01:30

The next EV I buy won’t be a Tesla. The model y has been great. I just want more for my money

Best_Market4204 2026-02-17 01:30

every company should have a mini van... They are the best We need more ev mini vans because the ID buzz doesn't cut it...

xtrotah 2026-02-17 01:34

Full size. 12 seater or bust

LQTPharmD 2026-02-17 01:51

The rear doors do open a full 90s degrees but yeah no sliders..but you also don't get made fun of for a minivan.

KashEsq 2026-02-17 01:53

Honestly, at this point I'll take an electric minivan from any company as long as it has similar features to gas minivans and decent range. I'd love to see some of those amazing Chinese minivans make their way over here.

Ok-Improvement-3670 2026-02-17 01:53

I want a Model Y that is the height of a Model 3 with a hatch and all. I don’t want seats that feel like dining room chairs.

GucciTokes 2026-02-17 02:01

if i had a family, i would love one! but alas…

mrandr01d 2026-02-17 02:02

That's what the x was for, but they killed that. Rivian r1s is probably the next best thing.

silverud 2026-02-17 02:06

Was planning on getting another S when the time came, but this would absolutely win out.

The_Epics_of_India 2026-02-17 02:17

Be happy if 3 and Y are still around in a few years.

Fearless_Signature4u 2026-02-17 02:19

Nope

ghostprotocol003 2026-02-17 02:20

Lucid Gravity is pretty sweet in this regard

olizor 2026-02-17 02:22

I would have loved an affordable, practical minivan… 8 years ago when my kids were young. Now I will run my 2017 Sedona to the ground and enjoy my Model 3.

fiddlesticks96 2026-02-17 02:36

I don’t want a Tesla anything anymore I just want other car companies to adopt some of my favorite Tesla features, no key no button just a cell phone and walk up and walk away. FSD and lane assist. Better range and faster charging the Tesla currently has.

outerdead 2026-02-17 02:42

Its a step towards my ultimate dream of self driving interlocking RV's.

Known-Background 2026-02-17 02:42

I just Elon to go away so I can enjoy owning my cars again.

outerdead 2026-02-17 02:43

Would be cool to have your living room and dining room following you to grandmas house.

Proteatron 2026-02-17 02:48

I'd take a Minivan or large SUV (A bit larger than the X was or with a less sloped rear roofline to fit more in the trunk).

MikeARadio 2026-02-17 03:21

If Tesla would make a normal type minivan, that’s electric and had all the Tesla stuff in there and did the same thing for our truck that wasn’t a cyber truck that would be selling them like crazy. It’s amazing. Some of these segments just are not served yet Yoon served right. They’re not served with good vehicles by legacy auto makers, they’re not serve cheap enough for normal people to buy. It’s sort of amazing what a mess we have made EV sales in the United States, while other countries sort of understand people can’t pay 50 grand for a car all the time some people can only pay 25. And then you have legacy auto makers making crappy cars and then wondering why they don’t sell software that’s just unusable or ridiculous. It’s amazing. Tesla comes along, and inside of a decade, totally redefines everything, including an app that works and does amazing things, Security, charging networks I mean, think of all the things that have changed and happened only because of Tesla. So as far as these other cars, it would be great if they would make them but right now it seems they’re focuses elsewhere

speechlessspinach 2026-02-17 03:29

I wanted this to exist so badly. I’ve had the 3 row model y with FSD since 2021 and eventually accepted I needed something bigger but the model x was too expensive so I got a Sienna. I hate driving it on the highway especially but the practicality you can’t beat…

speechlessspinach 2026-02-17 03:30

Same here. Still have my Y but wish we had the option for a Tesla minivan

sadmadtired 2026-02-17 03:31

With how big Elon is about family I wish he would do this. I would hands down get a Tesla with decent 3 row seating and FSD for my wife. Rn the only real sort of option is what remains of the MX, which is way overpriced for a 3 row. Honestly it seems like a slam dunk if they’d add another foot or two to the MY, and raise the back of the roof by a foot. Instant Competitor for the Sienna, the EV9, and the Rivian R1S. Like, why even bother with a 3rd row that can only sit the little kids??? What happens when those kids grow up? I just don’t understand the design philosophy there.

LQTPharmD 2026-02-17 03:53

Oh totally. Nobody expects to be embarrassed by the behemoth.

throwaway939wru9ew 2026-02-17 03:53

Exactly. Its crazy that people have never converted to the one true god - minivans. Nothing short of a full size SUV ever comes close to the actual 3rd row space that all minivans have. I would also argue that the minivan is even easier to load items into than a full size SUV. We have a model Y and the pacifica PHEV. Ideal family car setup.

mchinsky 2026-02-17 03:54

Large SUVs are stupidly high off the ground making it brutal putting cargo or kids in the seats

throwaway939wru9ew 2026-02-17 04:02

Man it does look incredible, but man...$80k - $100k family car...ouch. I would never let my kids even LOOK at it.

macolaguy 2026-02-17 04:05

I'd gladly trade my Cybertruck for a sprinter style Van.

throwaway939wru9ew 2026-02-17 04:05

Which I will never understand the criticism. Even so, I'll smile to myself as I fold down all my seats and LOAD UP at home depot, all without ever having to hop up into the bed of the parking lot princesses I see everywhere.

Lostbot218 2026-02-17 04:07

Can’t say I’d “want” it but for sure would check it out and could be persuaded if done right

LeVoyantU 2026-02-17 04:16

Currently have a Carnival. Next family car likely to be VW Buzz if they fix the range. I have very little hope Tesla will enter the big 3 row segment at this point unfortunately.

Burrito2525 2026-02-17 04:25

I would buy a Tesla that was like the lucid gravity with minivan doors.

YoungFlexibleShawty 2026-02-17 04:56

I don't want Tesla anything after what has been done over the last few years.

Weekly_Ad7944 2026-02-17 05:13

Oh jeez, assuming Tesla dropped all the stuff they are focused on now that isn't cars you wouldn't see it this decade. If the Cybertruck is any indication (announced 2019, production late 2023) you'd see it in 2030 at the earliest. Unless it's like the Semi which *might* actually go into full production 9 years after being announced or the Roadster which is vaporware despite being announced the same time as the semi. Throw in the fact Tesla keeps imagining itself as not being a car company and i think you're SOL.

South_Dakota_Boy 2026-02-17 05:25

Most of those vehicles are nearing $100k anyway. I myself almost bought a used Wagoneer for $70k until I realized wtf I was doing. I also drove a BMW X7 that was $90k and almost pulled the trigger but ffs that’s a lot for a disposable item.

Lovevas 2026-02-17 05:26

Depends on the price. But if Model Y is already ~50K, then Minivan will likely be 70K-ish. I probably won't buy a 70K minivan, but maybe Model Y L, if it comes out

Ordinary-Cake8510 2026-02-17 05:30

Well, I was thinking about that Volkswagen Bus EV. I like the room and the features but, the range isn’t great. I really hope we get the Model Y L here in the States because that would be as close as I’d get I’m sure.

Jmaster_888 2026-02-17 05:41

How would they have any way of knowing that though? I’m sure that if they are working on it, it’s only kept to a select amount of people at corporate.

ghostprotocol003 2026-02-17 05:46

Yeah... They're bringing out a cheaper variant of the gravity soon, and also releasing a midsize SUV later this year. Wonder what the dimensions would look like on that. Rumours are saying there are multiple variants.

Get-ADUser 2026-02-17 05:49

They need to make a station wagon

P00shy_ 2026-02-17 05:50

True. It's such a perfect thing. A Tesla Model V. All the autopilot, camera, camping etc modes with sliding doors and cargo room. The ID buzz is cool, but doesn't have the Tech I want that's in a Tesla.

bigfoot_done_hiding 2026-02-17 06:48

It's going to be a wait. Bought ours new in late 2005 and it still runs so smoothly you can't tell the engine is on when it idles. We have the limited model and every little gadget still works like new (I did have to replace a small door "kicker" motor on the right side slider about 7 years ago -- cost me an hour of research on youtube, 2 hours of DIY, and $12 in parts). We kind of want to sell it because we don't need it and thus we shouldn't be paying to insure it, but every time we drive it we feel like "we can't sell this -- it still feels new!". And of course we are grateful to have that huge capacity every time we need to move something.

Born-Emu-3499 2026-02-17 07:01

For transporting kiddies?

Ok_Individual4716 2026-02-17 08:21

Cyberban

Ok-Wrap-9779 2026-02-17 09:15

Yes but crazy expensive. We need something to compete against the lucid minivan

bvlgaript 2026-02-17 10:20

Minus 5k

JeyFK 2026-02-17 10:50

I don’t want one from Tesla, I just want minivans in Europe, we have 0

funtimefrenzy 2026-02-17 10:58

Is that not what the model x is?

rocker_01 2026-02-17 12:11

Van? Yes. But 3 row SUV, like some others here want? No.

Accomplished_Sky_899 2026-02-17 14:00

Umm…that’s why it’s a rumor?

sebtheballer 2026-02-17 14:19

I own two Tesla's (old S and Y) and a minivan.  3 young kids. Need the van for any trip to the airport (suitcases, travel car seats, stroller, etc) and carpooling with friends.   Would love to swap the Y for a Tesla minivan.   Ten years ago, in Master plan "Part Deux", I thought they flagged a minivan "high density urban transport", but it appears that this was abandoned. https://www.tesla.com/master-plan-part-deux

ABoredDeveloper 2026-02-17 14:22

This is exactly what I say. Nah, instead we get rid of the Model X and every other company is obsessed with being a model y competitor. rivian r2, ioniq 1 etc.

dr_reverend 2026-02-17 14:49

You really think the world needs another Nazimobile?

Cheeko914 2026-02-17 14:51

It’s not about how many people “want” it. It’s about how many people will buy it. They wouldn’t sell nearly enough for it to be worth making.

throwaway939wru9ew 2026-02-17 15:03

That could be awesome then. If I needed to replace my Pacifica PHEV tomorrow (for something full EV), I'd currently be considering the Kia EV9...and thats about it. A Gravity in the 60k range would be awesome, but I think I'm probably dreaming there on that aggressive of a reduction.

Fxsx24 2026-02-17 15:20

The Honda Odyssey Fucks Hard!

Living_Fig_6386 2026-02-17 15:52

I think Tesla's winding down it's car business, but for the US market the best bet would have been a mid-size SUV. For the rest of the world, a compact hot hatch.

TheBromarr 2026-02-17 15:56

Would be dope for Elon to make the successful version of the VW hippie van

reelhappi 2026-02-17 16:07

🙋‍♀️

reelhappi 2026-02-17 16:09

Actually, what I really want is a Y with a luxe package, now that they’re doing away with the S/X. I would happily fork out a little extra $$ for the quality and luxury of the S in a Y.

GRLT 2026-02-17 16:49

I've got the old one and would love a new one. 2018 Model X P100D with Ludicrous

SemiSemaTirzTurd 2026-02-17 17:14

Interesting. Would have thought you’d be in the market for a Model X if you are interested in a minivan. Model S to family car is a big jump.

SemiSemaTirzTurd 2026-02-17 17:14

Never thought I’d see all that in the same sentence, lol.

silverud 2026-02-17 17:15

I like having more cargo capacity, I don't really need more seating.

Fxsx24 2026-02-17 17:15

go watch deadpool vs wolverine............

Davenportmanteau 2026-02-17 17:40

I want that robotaxi, 2-door Model Y, but with a steering wheel!

erwos 2026-02-17 17:56

Mazda5 form factor Tesla would be amazing.

JACWag0n 2026-02-17 18:13

No kids to haul, but we camp and have two dogs. I would kidney punch a nun in order to make that a reality.

BodaciousGuy 2026-02-17 18:24

Typical pro-lifer. He just wants more offspring, not to raise and care for them.

Breathkeeper 2026-02-17 19:00

Cybertruck chassis is the best from Tesla so far. It will be a dream to pair Tesla powertrain with that chassis in 3-row setup.

Howry 2026-02-17 20:05

Isnt that kind of the S?

Ok-Improvement-3670 2026-02-17 20:12

It was…🥺

CAMMARMANN 2026-02-17 20:26

I’ve seen it accidentally. I don’t want to burn my source but I promise this Tesla minivan you’re imagining at least has a driving prototype.

jakubs12345 2026-02-17 20:38

Want nothing unless autosteer is back.

michalf 2026-02-17 20:51

Minivan or something similar to Rivian R1S. It would be strange if Tesla developed the Cybertruck with its "innovative 48V platform" just to produce a single model.

StevBator 2026-02-17 21:11

I do.

gocard 2026-02-17 21:35

I used to but i currently don't believe Tesla is interested in selling consumer cars long term. I don't want to purchase a vehicle whose support would diminish over time.

gocard 2026-02-17 21:37

It's not betting against Elon when he's the one moving his bets onto things other than selling consumer cars.

WLHDP 2026-02-17 23:16

paininthejbruh 2026-02-18 00:30

Heavily considering the Kia ev9 for these reasons!

a1ien51 2026-02-18 01:56

Biggest issue is the minivan market is like 3% so EV portion would be even smaller. I loved my minivan, I gave it up for a model 3. I am passed my minivan years now, but I really do miss being able to haul me and 7 other people to places, now we have to take 2 cars.

Torczyner 2026-02-18 04:10

A minivan? I'd rather drive into a lake. A full size SUV? Hell yes.

storyinpictures 2026-02-18 06:09

I will be happy enough if they release the Model Y L in the US. Not quite a van but enough bigger to make a significant difference.

loneskum_ 2026-02-18 06:23

They aren’t if you have captain seats in the second row.

loneskum_ 2026-02-18 06:25

All I want is a Tesla Dustbuster van

shenfever 2026-02-18 16:06

It’s easier to get in the third row in that case, but it doesn’t matter in terms of leg room or comfort if you have to sit back there

Special-Ad-6555 2026-02-18 19:38

It really feels like a no‑brainer for Tesla and would round out their lineup in a way nothing else does. But Tesla also has a long history of skipping the obvious, practical segments in favor of flashier ideas. No offense to anyone who loves the Model X, but it was basically a Model Y with dramatic doors, and it never sold more than a tiny fraction of the volume of the rest of the lineup. From a business standpoint, they probably would’ve come out ahead by building something more like a modern minivan or people‑mover instead of chasing the falcon‑door gimmick.

Crazy_Day5359 2026-02-18 20:25

I know someone who works in a design capacity for Tesla and I believe he signed an NDA to seal his lips. I asked him if a minivan or other new model is in the works and he smiled and said he couldn’t comment on it

Alert-Discount-2558 2026-02-18 22:57

They want to make self driving taxis then a van is the best platform. Potentially wheelchair accessible, larger parties can ride, room for luggage, etc a

Hidavi 2026-02-19 12:07

Is that part of the official definition? My family and I treat my MX like a minivan lol hauling dogs, car tires, mulch, you name it

A_Dragon 2026-03-01 00:35

Desperately. It’s the only reason I haven’t purchased a Tesla yet.

ItemInternal1686 2026-03-14 00:04

the buzz lacks alot of things, has mirror cameras but no side camera monitoring. the cameras already there!

ItemInternal1686 2026-03-14 00:06

i have a 7 seater model y. we never use the back seats its pointless only mt 5 year old can fit there.

ItemInternal1686 2026-03-14 00:08

thats what breaks my hopes. I LOVEEEE my husbands model y so much we looked into a x for me. but it was no where near the space i have with my mini van and i hated it! If anyone needs FSD its us tired moms! I would put a downpayment reverse deposit on a tesla mini van day 1 without even seeing it!

ItemInternal1686 2026-03-14 00:10

most of us want a mini van for two things, space and sliding doors
