Subwoofer recommendations/install tips

DrumBoyIan | 2026-02-16 19:16 | 25 views

Thinking about adding a subwoofer to my 2025 model 3 RWD to improve the low end frequencies on the standard audio system. Any good recommendations on sub+amp and how to install it? Or any guides?

I'd like to know too! But I leased so I don't know if I should mess with it or if that voids any warranty.

I mean I bet it’s pretty non-invasive so I bet before your lease ends just take it out and it should be okay.

I’m pretty happy with my JL Stealthbox for model 3 and a rd 500/1. Didn’t install it myself though. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/s/YO5I7Q3yev

Ah, to be young.

This ain't no honda civic! /s

On the contrary. LOL. Tesla 3/Y is the new Honda Civic/Accord. They’re everywhere.

The NVX boost boxes are good in the Y. I’d assume they would be just as good in the 3.

Very different price points and socioeconomic classes are buying Honda vs Tesla.

I would look for a used premium sub and retro fit that in your trunk. Or the nvx sub.

The Alpine DSP system for the 3/Y is also quite great. But it’s more than just the subwoofer. It’s a pretty penny too! It’s very easy to install. Non invasive and easily removed after your lease ends. Downfall is the plug and play harness is different between models/years.

I thought I was so cool blasting music down the street when I was young. I think this attitude stayed w me til about 29. I still turn up as a party trick just to demo friends what the premium awd is packing. Our oem audio is legit

I like how you put a photo of the car like people on the Tesla page don’t know what a Model 3 looks like

Iv'e got the breakers audio [https://breakersstereoandperformance.com/product/2024-tesla-model-3-bass-package-single-12-w-custom-box-and-panel-copy/](https://breakersstereoandperformance.com/product/2024-tesla-model-3-bass-package-single-12-w-custom-box-and-panel-copy/) I had it in my Model S Plaid , now I've got it in my Model 3

It was freshly washed and I thought it looked nice lol

Alpine has audio components specially made for 3/Y. I’m pretty sure you can just pick up the sub/amp unit and wire it in the rear where the OEM would be. Might have to get service to flash through or it might pick up naturally. Do some old fashioned Googling and there are some forums that come up about it (not sure how much discussion on Highland yet). 🤙

Yeah, another suggestion or recommendation for the NVX box I have their sub in my Model S for five years now, performs nicely, also doesn’t take up much room with the custom fit enclosure

Before doing that, have you tried playing spotify directly on browser? for some reason (i guess higher kbps) it makes a huge difference vs the others options (bluetooth and native spotify app)
