Experience with Tires and Wear when leasing?

Hey guys, so I'm 13 months into my 36mo lease of my M3 and I love it so far. I'm right under 6k miles and by reading the user's manual, I think it's time for tire rotation. Which made me wonder, is it worth schedulling tire rotation through the Tesla service app? Is it expensive? Or cost/benefit is it just better to do it at any Tire Center (Costco, Walmart, etc.) Second concern is: I've read a few threads of people experiencing issues when returning their leases. I'm in GA and I'd really appreciate any input on the return process here. Do they actually inspect your tires in depth? I know I'm still 23 months out, but I'd rather set aside the budget and get new tires elsewhere than paying stupid big fees when returning. BTW, the excess wear guide says 4/32". I'm prob shooting for 18k miles when returning, anyone with wear experience here? Do you guys think my tires will meet the min criteria? Or is it too hard to tell? Anything else I should be aware of in these remaining 23 months?

For tire maintenance: Go to a tire shop, not Tesla. For example Costco will charge you about $35 while Tesla will charge you $350-400.

I have 10k miles at about 23 month in. I always drive in Chill. I did my first rotation at Tesla since a SC is down the street from me and I’d rather just do it there in case of issues, esp since it’s leased. Rotation was $80; a bit much but for the only maintenance it’s like whatever. I am hoping to not have issues when I return it next year.

Discount tires doesn't charge for rotations even if you don't buy the tires from them. May as well go there instead of Costco :)

Thanks. I’d love any update when you return it if possible!

Wow great tip. I’m sure they got the special jack pads?

You don't need pads when using a lift. Those are for floor jacks and even Tesla techs don't use them
