XEV 9E Pack 3. Best bang for buck

UnnecesarilyRational 2026-03-17 11:25

MG windsor. Pro for better range. Have been using non-pro version for more than a year now. Minimum 250km range. Goes upto 280 with single seater and eco mode on full charge.

Either_Flan1682 2026-03-17 11:26

XEV 9E or MG Windsor

TipTipMemes 2026-03-17 11:36

BYD is no nonsense and no trouble car.. a bit costlier than mahindras and tatas.. take a test drive of all the car you are shortlisting and then decide

Real-Recover-7397 2026-03-17 11:39

I dont like the windsor shape at all, so thats out for me . I have been using mg zs ev for 2 and half years and its been a great experience so far but i believe they are going to replace the model with something else. It should be worth a wait. Even though The heart loves harrier ev but i wouldnt buy it because of the never ending niggles. Mahindra’s ev may have teething problems especially in the earlier lots. Id still put my money on 9e or 9s ( depending on whether you need a 5 seater or 7 seater).

pranavjindal999 2026-03-17 11:44

XEV 9E Pack 3.

ZookeepergameOk2871 2026-03-17 12:02

Kia carens clavis EV.(NMC vs LFP is never ending, but batteries outlast shell of car). Own one, no niggles, proven platform.

ChargelessWiring 2026-03-17 12:09

What does this sub think about the VF6?

sustainablecaptalist 2026-03-17 12:19

Curvv EV. Best value for the buck.

Even_Possibility_591 2026-03-17 12:25

Be 6e ?

I understand the panic about Tata quality and service, but I have used Tata Nexon EV 2020 for 3.5–4 years and then got Tata Nexon Empowered+ 45 just a month back. I have not faced any issues in both cases. Also, if you check the facts — Tata Nexon is the top-selling compact SUV with around 20,000 units sold per month. Out of those, how many bad reviews have you actually read? 10–15? People usually don’t post praises, but complaints always get a lot of attention. Now before booking Tata Nexon again, I tried mostly all EVs in the same range: 1. Tata Curvv – ~450 km actual on-road range, was my initial choice but parking issues in Mumbai so didn’t go with it. 2. Tata Nexon – got top model at 17.5L, ~300–350 km actual city + highway range. I’ve covered ~4500 km in last 40 days. 3. Mahindra BE6 and the other one – absolutely gorgeous cars, packed with features but only if you get the top model Pack 3. Pack 2 doesn’t even have 360 camera or ADAS, which is actually necessary because of the blind spots. If you can stretch till ~33L, really great options. 4. MG Windsor – weird design, ~250–300 km range, didn’t like the interior. The infotainment feels like a 10-year-old built it with 240p resolution. Also why do I need to scroll through menus to change AC or turn ventilated seats on. Rear seats also didn’t feel comfortable. 5. BYD : Loved the cars, premium quality, wonderful range, but expensive. 6. Tata Punch – good range (~250–300 km), my sister has been using it for 7 months. I felt it’s really small at the back. 7. Creta – good car, good range, but priced ~2.5L more for every variant for similar features compared to Nexon. And ~70K extra just for charger feels unnecessary. If anyone who has tried Victoris, do give the review.

AntiGenAI 2026-03-17 12:58

Victoris wondering his presence surrounding by EV guys ! 😁

In the EV space, I will avoid Tata's, they have put early adopters through hell. Going through HV battery packs faster than 12V batteries. Even new gen products like Curvv are having sudden SoC drops. Windsor was promising but DC charging issues strike without warning. Know multiple people stranded on the highway with no recourse. MG India has no technical chops, is unable to fix this for good in all cars proactively years after launching the car. So sad from a company that launched ZS EV which has been super reliable. Mahindra's have got it right with EV fundamentals going with reputed players like BYD for cells and Valeo for motors. Few cases of coolant pump failures that they are now proactively fixing. Most importantly they have a solid EV tech team that is constantly iterating and improving. Class leading battery with ability to charge upto 180 kW is a game changer. EV infra is rapidly improving and this is the factor that will influence your ownership experience the most. BYD's Atto 3 is extremely overpriced for what it offers because of the 60 kWh battery pack. Sealion is outside your budget. The Korean twins have launched a reliable product but I am disappointed with their charging speeds. If you are not considering a Mahindra for whatever reason, consider this.

serve-and-smash 2026-03-17 13:07

I drive the BYD emax 7 - Great build and super performance.

Proper-Ad8181 2026-03-17 13:35

Only one option comes to mind , be6 pack 3 long range. Go with your family sit in the car , if they are comfortable, then lock in be6 or you should look towards xev9e pack 2, long range varient. All other cars are currently eclipsed by Mahindra ev twins. Tata nexon ev 45kw is a good option, but i expect an update shortly. Then you have the reliable punch ev 40kw model. ( I own punch ev 35kw myself). Tata harrier ev, like all tata cars are questionable, they haven't used prismatic cells for harrier ev. Mg zs ev is too outdated.

AlUcard_POD 2026-03-17 13:43

Xev 9s mid variant with larger battery is the obvious choice - if it for both work and family. Be6 is a no go for family.

hrkhardik 2026-03-17 14:09

Do you own one? Have a few questions

Conscious-Product655 2026-03-17 15:20

I am driving MG ZS Ev for 2 years now. My current preference 1.XEV 9s 2. Creta Electric 3. BYD eMax 7 Be6 and xev 9e- I'm not a fan of these designs.

trialbuterror 2026-03-17 15:34

Hw is suspension for long drive and ac ?

paraskhosla1600 2026-03-17 15:48

9e

Agreeable-Ad-2515 2026-03-17 15:58

Ac is quite good. Cools down the cabin fast . Suspension is on the stiffer side but highway rides are smooth snd comfortable.

dg_mach 2026-03-17 16:01

Yup have a pack 2 9e. More than happy. Tried out be6. Though I personally liked it, family perspective made me drop it. Mind vs heart

Royal-Lead8456 2026-03-17 16:04

I just took a test ride of windsor pro and BE6, 30 minutes ago. I was going to book BE6 formula edition, but the rear under thigh support of BE6 is worst in all the vehicles I have seen. Windsor pro is what my family felt best n airy roomy in rear. Btw how's your experience overall? I think I will book pro version tomorrow. Turquoise green.

Agreeable-Ad-2515 2026-03-17 16:07

My experience has been good. Quite comfortable car especially for city usage and given a range of almost 300kms in 38kw battery pack. Ac works good. You will need some time to get used to the controls. Apart from that its all good. I have mine in Pearl White.

Rare-Newspaper9988 2026-03-17 16:37

Kia, BYD, MG Buy an Indian EV and you will have to deal with endless emails and service center visits once the battery problem appears

CrispyCouchPotato1 2026-03-17 16:48

BYD will not fit under 30L. I personally have a Mahindra BE6. The software is a bit rough around the edges, but the core drivetrain and hardware is rock solid. All 79kWh owners comfortably getting 500+ km per charge. Even at 80,000km on the odo!

happytechieee 2026-03-17 17:40

Have seen multiple mahindra ev6 with half led tail light not working, is that a feature?

happytechieee 2026-03-17 17:41

AI slop

happytechieee 2026-03-17 17:42

why dont you go for hyryder or invicto or hycross vx

Ok-Hospital-341 2026-03-17 17:43

Some of us are educated enough to write but sure.

yash_iim 2026-03-17 18:03

Try test drive first Personally I liked curvv ev the best Smooth software and drive with elegant look

dbsingh1996 2026-03-17 20:00

Is this AI or you working in Tata for sure

InternationalLoad652 2026-03-17 20:27

Harrier EV

CrispyCouchPotato1 2026-03-18 02:02

You must've seen like the same one car with a faulty LED across a hundred reels on instagram. Meanwhile I see loads of BEVs. All lights working. I personally have one. I regularly attend meet-ups with fellow BEV owners. I am in groups with BEV owners. Nobody reporting such issues either. It's funny how the vast majority of actual owners aren't facing any such issues, but social media will amplify and exaggerate the one odd failure that occurs. Despite such failures occurring with every brand. Do you want pictures of VW, MSIL, Toyota group cars with faulty LEDs? Can easily share those as well.

SecondOutrageous828 2026-03-18 02:14

Yes it is a feature to indicate service center visit. I have seen this feature in Tata also. /s Jokes apart. Driver is generally unaware of it unless someone informs him. It is a pure quality issue. Mahindra had the same with XUV700 for the first two years of launch and they were able to iron it out. The problem is that the service centers are not equipped to diagnose the problem so they start replacing parts one by one.

happytechieee 2026-03-18 02:41

I am not here to argue sir, I dont own Mahindra. I was not talking about reels.

FuzzyAd4569 2026-03-18 02:55

Maintenance is too costly.

CrispyCouchPotato1 2026-03-18 03:30

Right. You are here to make generic claims and "funny" statements like "iS tHaT a fEaTUrE". In which case I am speaking from personal experience. And the combined experiences of nearly 600 other owners. Heck I have 3 BEV owners in my extended teams at work. This isn't some common/widespread issue. Besides, all manufacturers get LED issues. Nobody is an exception. These LED strips are manufactured by vendors, and every component is susceptible to failure.

gasavkar 2026-03-18 05:09

MG ZS EV…. A complete and thorough European car

Strike_Package 2026-03-18 05:29

What is cost per service and service intervals

FuzzyAd4569 2026-03-18 05:37

They Promised it to be less than 5k, At 20k ODO, they are charging 20k

TipTipMemes 2026-03-18 05:40

Damn!! For what??

Strike_Package 2026-03-18 05:47

That's a steep price for ev servicing

FuzzyAd4569 2026-03-18 05:49

Labour Costs Very High. Brakes Cleaning Labour 3500. GST Extra.

nyxthebitch 2026-03-18 06:07

Yeah it was a similar experience for me as well. Plus if you're around 6 Feet tall, your head will bump into the roof on breakers.

Royal-Lead8456 2026-03-18 06:11

Which car did you finalize?

happytechieee 2026-03-18 11:16

You mean the same head/tail lights issue? When these electric cars were launched they also showed that these can be converted to DJ lights and can mimic the music tune, and hence I seriously wanted to know (although unlikely) if the half tail light can be turned off somehow.

happytechieee 2026-03-18 11:18

are these brakes not disc brakes like other cars?

Old-Illustrator706 2026-03-19 12:02

I bought BYD atto3 this year under 30lacs. 49Kw. First and foremost reason is , it’s not bulky (personal preference). Tech and all you must be knowing. Mahindra 6e n 9e doesn’t look like a family car to me. Both feels claustrophobic at the back seat bec of coupe design. 9s is better. Byd feels luxurious from inside. Decent range of 350 in cities. Other than BYD, second best option for me was to go for harrier or 9s. (Both are bulky though).
