In China the MG4 is the same price as the Surf. No idea how the Surf is selling.

Sure, my landcruiser driving friends refer to my sealion 6 as the Tonka toy, in 16mths and 48,000 kms I have not had any problems with it and with recharging overnight only and a full tank can run 1100kms before needing to refuel 🙄

Seems to be only in China. In other countries, the MG4 is almost 2x the price of the surf/seagull. A lot of people see EVs as city driving cars, so a larger, more expensive option really isn't that much appealing.

I picked mine up from the dealer on Friday and I'm extremely impressed.

Not true, UK based and Picked up an MG4 long range with 1500K miles. Was the same price as any pre reg Surf. Could also get the Dolphin Design trim level for 5k miles for the same price if I had moved a bit quicker. As much as I love BYD and the look of the surf it is a very very very hard car to recommend at current pricing

To be fair, I kinda want a sealion 7 and a LandCruiser. We do some trips that the sealion would struggle with, having 3 kids and a dog. Not going to get used a lot though, early 200 series will probably be the go.

I own one, boost version with the larger battery and I'm very happy with it.
