PDC Failure after a bump in the rear

Hi, I have a BYD seal U DMI which I love. I came back to my car, and it had been bumped into, not much but a dent in the boot. Everything seems to work OK, but a PDC failure is being reported, and I should contact service at BYD. When I try to find it on the net, I did find a parking distance failure, yet everything seems to work when I am parking. I did clean the rear sensers and camera, and they do not appear to have been touched, and seem to work. Can this error be cleared? I did try a soft reset but it is the same. As I do not know who bumped into my car, I was hoping to have it fixed at a local garage that specialises in body repairs, as I suspect BYD might opt to replace the boot lid which I imagine would cost a lot of money. I’ve a feeling, I’ve not actually taken one apart so it is only a feeling, that there is a sensor in the back of the bumper that activates in the event of a bump/crash ! I don’t know at what speed or force it engages but, and don’t quote me on this, it operates a bit like a fuel cut off switch! So in its most basic form, and this is purely for convenience of explanation, a ball bearing is activated which completes a circuit and activates the warning light on the dash. Again I’m not saying that is what happens on this vehicle , I’m sure it is far more sophisticated, I’m just suggesting the principle. It may be a reset via a good OBD tool or a replacement sensor! The problem I have found is getting an independent garage to do any work because they find it difficult to obtain parts. Have you tried a reset via an OBD tool? It would be worth a try. Hope you get it sorted.
