Deinfluence me: BYD Seal 5 Dynamic

ComprehensiveFox4701 | 2026-03-11 00:06 | 24 views

So here's the thing. Matagal ko na iniisip kumuha ng BYD Seal 5 Dynamic. Currently we have a Nissan Terra na we use during weekends, and a 2017 Toyota Vios A/T currently running at 85k odo, na daily namin for work. Owning the Vios, walang naging major problem, mga minor lang, pero due to its age gusto ko na palitan.   Now, kakakuha lang namin ng Nissan Terra January of last year, pero si wife ang nagbabayad since loan sa office nila. So I'm thinking of selling the Vios, then using the proceeds plus a loan from my own office to get the BYD Seal 5 Dynamic.   I've been asking around with agents and the best discount I've gotten so far is 75K off, bringing the Seal 5 down to around 873K. Pag nabenta si Vios at around 300-ish, mga 570K na lang ang iloloan ko sa office then own pocket na lang ang insurance.   Gusto ko rin kasi talaga i-maximize yung solar panels namin sa bahay, so makes sense for us to go electric/PHEV.   So please… give me reasons NOT to pull the trigger. Hahaha

Honestly sounds like a good plan especially with the current gas pricing. You also have a backup car if ever something goes wrong with your BYD. Lagi ko sinasabi na dont buy BYD if first and only car, pero sa situation mo I think its a good plan. Now to deinfluence you, dont buy if wala parking where you can charge anytime. Also, BYD wont have the same reliability, aftersales, and resale value as their Japanese counterparts. Baka manibago ka din sa instant torque nya tapos maaksidente ka (this is far fetched pero you never know).

Buying the BYD Seal 5 Dynamic wont save you money. Mas lalo ka pang gagastos due to the UPFRONT cost of 570k. Lalabas din yung new model niyan around 2027 which is mas maganda ang porma.

Questionable pa ang reliability dahil bago parin siya sa market at may issue nadin siya sa after sales service dahil may mga Casa na di pa malinaw ang proseso kung pano sila kukuha ng pyesa na kailangan. You can check this YT Vid about this issue: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2Rz1LqInc4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2Rz1LqInc4)

Genuinely curious. Why is there an upfront cost? Is it the charging station?

Once na binili mo, magsisisi ka na sana premium nalang kinuha mo. But if the budget is the problem well sana nag ipon kapa.

BYD is a car company heavily subsidized by the CCP. The same government that threatens PH sovereignty **wants** BYD to dominate the global stage, and establish their power and influence over other nations. Of all the things you can buy from China, an EV purchase is a big way to support CCP's goal.

Kasi you need to shell out 570k just to buy the car when you can just be contented with the Vios.

but then you have a vios

Yes you have a VIOS or have a BYD Seal 5 and 570k in debt?
