Question about Seal intentionally reducing power after speeding
I've noticed the BYD Seal (Performance) caps the performance to around 350hp (instead of 530hp) after I floor it on the highway. It stays capped at 350hp until I park and leave the car off for a while (say 30-60 minutes), then the performance goes back to normal and I can achieve the full 530hp again. Since this was not a particularly hot day and the battery had plenty of ventilation, I am wondering if the car automatically assumes that the battery might be hot after going fast (over 160km/h). Just like a printer assumes that the cartridge is empty based purely on the number of documents it has printed (instead of actually checking the ink level). My question is: does the car actually know that the battery is hot? Or does it work like a printer and makes assumptions based on a programmed usage scenario? Automotive Industry
