Warning lights I can’t identify.

Unfortunately I don’t have any photos or video of the warning lights, I wish I had. I had a host of dark yellow warning lights come up last night when winding my way back home after a late evening event. These lights all appeared in the right had section of the instrument cluster in front of the driver. A couple I could identify and appeared to be related to the lane assist and cruise control but as I wasn’t using either at the time I paid little attention and concentrated on driving. I have been unable to locate the corresponding signs within the manual. But what was more interesting was that whilst it had no effect on my forward progress it did restrict speed, not limp home mode, but the high beam assist ceased to work during the episode! Almost as if to make it more difficult to get into trouble by limiting the speed of forward motion. The weather conditions were cold and damp but not icy, though I think the ice warning light did appear very briefly, the windscreen was covered in a damp sheen though the wipers had cleared that so vision was not overly impaired. By the time I had done less than a mile the high beam assist returned to full working order and the yellow lights had disappeared! Could it be related to the radar / cameras! Anybody else had anything at all of a similar nature happen on their Seal U ? And yes, I’ll be ready with a phone/camera if I encounter the situation again.

I wonder if it’s the 12v battery… sometimes when voltage is low, modern cars throw false warnings because the low voltage ‘tricks’ the car into thinking there’s a problem with the various systems being monitored. The fact that the high beams didn’t work initially, but then did after a while (once the 12v battery changed) is a further suggestion to me that that might be the issue… I hope you get it resolved, whatever the issue is. Cheers JM460 I suppose it could have been the 12v but no issues with starting or running previously and only 6 months old, not that that means much. I only wish I had stopped and photographed the warning display. As I said it didn’t stop me from starting or driving and defo no tortoise within the display, and within 600/700 yards of starting everything was back to normal ! The road was damp with the beginnings of a possible frost and as I said the ice warning did come on, all be it very briefly. Oh well nothing untoward has happened since so I’ll not worry about it, select a raucous tune on Spotify, crank up the volume to an extremely unhealthy level and forget about warning signs. Warning signs are for whimps.

Probably the ADAS camera fogged up, it does show a message on screen which only last a few seconds. Put the Aircon on the windscreen on full for a minute or two to clear it. Unfortunately this happens a lot.

Cheers starmonkeylg I had thoughts along the same ADAS camera line, based only on the way the auto high beam behaved and the clearing of the screen, which was fast. I think it will be a case of perhaps using the app to pre warm the car during the upcoming winter season. After all the system is there so may as well use it and see if it works to cure or at least reduce any issues. I suppose it’s one of those things that living in a damp environment in the middle of nowhere throws up but one would have thought the manufacturers would have undertaken testing in such conditions and if unable to entirely eliminate it at least give a nod to the possibility of an issue in the owners manual! Happy motoring to one and all.

Hi I had exactly the same.....a whole cluster of amber warning lights came on. All on the right hand side of the dashboard/drivers display. I was told that it was because of the low outside temperature affecting the camera/radar. That would explain why all of the warnings were camera related. Ie. Lane keep assist, icc, etc. Hope this helps. Richard

This happens regularly since the cold weather started, even with pre warming the cabin, but is easily fixed. Hit windscreen defrost and the lights will go out in seconds as the camera area clears (max 2 minutes). Thanks steel188 As you say, at least it’s an easy fix. Silly little thing and must have been noted in China when testing. Other than that cars been very good. Shame we can’t say the same for Rachel in accounts but that situation will only ever get worse. Autos & Vehicles
