I wonder if there's anyone on this forum that's knowledgeable about the upcoming massive annual tax rise when it regards private owners? This new Euro legisation which is going to be adopted by our government. Here's a video that explains about the future tax rise:

Knowledgeable! Well I can’t claim to be that but what we all have, as drivers, is experience! We have experience of being conned into purchasing diesel vehicles because they were perceived to be cleaner! Drivers were then conned into buying specific manufacturers brands because their figures showed that their products were cleaner than their competitors! Naughty company’s. We have been led to believe that electric vehicles are the answer but when prohibitively expensive vehicles have failed to produce the sales figures required drivers have been diverted onto another path, hybrid vehicles and when that failed to make the desired figures the government introduced the ‘Luxury Car Tax’ £40k does not purchase a luxury vehicle minister. That option has been embraced by the many because the impracticalities of running charging cables all over our streets or from windows of apartments along with ridiculously high prices to charge vehicles away from the home local and the total lack of any real effort to create an infrastructure of any meaningful kind by successive governments has led to what is always the answer. Tax ! We will, no doubt be punished for being daft enough to buy a Hybrid and the EV buyers will be punished for buying what will, no doubt, become the nightmare of how to dispose of all the batteries in a green and PC way. But not to worry because I’m pretty certain that tax will rear its ugly head in the form of a ‘pence per mile’ charge ! Resulting in ever more people being forced to work from home or lose their jobs due to impossible tax rate hikes every time there is a budget leaving them stranded at home with all the other workers who have to travel to and from work. Rant over, I’m off out to enjoy a drive in my hybrid whilst I can still afford to.

Don’t want to say “told you so” but…. Not only a pence per mile charge for EV’s but us Hybrid buyers have to pay fuel duty and the pence per mile charge! Now that shows just how little the chancellor actually understands vehicles, but of course they are driven around in government limousines which are of course exempt, tell me I’m wrong. Whatever next? A window tax on cars, trucks and motorcycles, yes very probably, it will become law to have front and side windows on motorcycles. You couldn’t make it up, or could you!
