schade, aber das ist nicht Zeitgemäß.

Even_Efficiency98 2026-03-10 16:39

Yeah, that's pretty bad for such a big battery. For comparision: an ID.3 GTX has a 10-80% average of 138kW (10min faster than the Seal with a similar battery size), the CLA 250+ has a 10-80% average of 195kW, more than double of the Seal. Both are comparibly priced to the Seal (the ID.3 cheaper, the CLA more expensive). This is 2022 tech.

TheRuneMeister 2026-03-10 19:09

Now let’s see how the new model does. The Seal thats sold in Europe is ancient at this point.

spwolf 2026-03-10 21:08

New model wont come this year for sure. In that time, Geely brotherhood as well as Xpeng have massive advantage.

TheRuneMeister 2026-03-10 21:23

It will…maybe not in Europe though. :) XPENG is still the most popular Chinese brand here in Denmark, and for good reason. They are basically just selling the excellent G6 and nothing else. (though if you combine Geely brands, then they are obviously on top)

spwolf 2026-03-10 21:25

Yeah, this is European sub. I assume they will charge well on 350kw and 400kw chargers too.

TheRuneMeister 2026-03-10 21:56

…uhm yes. My point was that this is an old model…ans the announced a new model, with a better battery and charging. They are already scheduled to start deliveries within a month, so regardless of whether we will see the Seal 07 or 08 this year, we might see the Blade 2.0 battery sneak into a refresh of the old model. Nobody knows.

spwolf 2026-03-10 22:08

It is current model. Is new Seal U actually announced at all?

TheRuneMeister 2026-03-10 22:13

The Seal 07 and 08 have been announced. Don’t know about the U.

ID.3 GTX is 20% more expensive. In Italy the base model price of ID.3 GTX is 49.600. BYD starts from 41.700. They are almost in different market segments.

DD4cLG 2026-03-11 08:26

>This is 2022 tech. Technically, this BYD Seal **is** a 2022 model. It's delayed for sale in Europe, but it was introduced and sold in 2022. Just wait for the update

Even_Efficiency98 2026-03-11 09:37

In Germany THIS BYD ("Design" line with the big battery) is 49.990€, the ID.3 GTX starts at 47.225€. In both cases you won't pay the listed price anyways, but you have to compare the right cars (ID.3 start at 33k€ otherwise). They are were much in the exact same segments.

Elukka420 2026-03-11 10:35

2022 model id.3 charges that fast?

Nachtpirscher 2026-03-11 14:48

Well ur comparing LFP with NMC here. For NMC batteries the charging speeds of the VAG are beyond pathetic.

boogiexx 2026-03-11 20:00

From my experience with the same car after 9,000 km, this only really matters on longer trips, like 400–500 km. How many of those do most people actually do every year? I charge at work, so I really don’t care how long it takes. If I don’t get to my target, I’ll finish charging the next day. And if you need to use fast DC chargers all the time, you’re kind of screwed anyway, because they’re way more expensive. If you can charge overnight at home or at work, owning an EV is a no-brainer. It’ll take time before EVs and charging infrastructure fully match ICE cars for range and convenience, but it’s pretty obvious where things are going. Range is gonna be bigger battery's will charge faster and sooner or later we won't be making videos like this.

This is the sub for EU market
