Charging BYD seal. Odd behaviour.

Anyone else struggled to get smart charging working. I’m in the UK using an Ohme epod and on Octopus Intelligent Go. I set it to add 60% in the Ohme App overnight, but in the morning it was way short of its target and there are clear gaps in the night when it’s not charging. All the BYD smart scheduling is not setup so I don’t think it’s a conflict between the car’s app and octopus. It’s like the car keeps going to sleep and not charging.

there is issues with smart chargers. your are right that the car goes to sleep. try also scheduling the car to charge at that time.

I use an ohme home pro with the Seal, been working perfectly for a year, same as you just set a percentage, nothing on the car

How does your charging app get the battery % of the Seal? As far as I know, the API is not open. Therefore I don't understand how the app can estimate any percentages?

I always set 100% (i figure why not? Modern batteries are designed to be charged to 100%)so that when this happens I still have some more wiggle room if the charge screws up over night. I personally quite like this shirt bursts of charge. Gives extra cheap electricity for the house for the rest of the night.

It’s the amount added - not the amount in the car
