New Seal U DM-I Comfort Owner Questions

OliMBfc | 2025-07-22 11:25 | 30 views

Hi all, Had my new Seal U DM-I Comfort for a few days and had few questions if anybody can help please? Does the lane follow assist only work when the cruise control is activated? in my previous car (Kia) it could be activated without the cruise control. Does anybody else use a "granny" charger and if so, what charge rate are you getting? I have one that apparently will charge at 2.4Kw but when charging the max I have seen is 1.8kw. Are there any tips/hints that anybody has found with their car that would be good to know? I have watched myriad youtube videos so know a few basics like the 3 finger swipe for temp/fan speed. So far am loving the car and looking forward to taking it on a 250 mile run at the weekend to see how it performs on a full mixture of road types and conditions. Cheers in advance

I have a Seal (BEV), but I can answer some of your questions. The lane following (ICC or intelligent cruise control) does need a cruise speed to be set. You can do that by activating cruise control, and then pressing the ICC button, or just press the ICC button at the desired speed (which you can then further adjust using the rocker switch). Clicking up or down increases or decreases the cruise speed by 5 km increment (or presumably 5 miles in the UK). Holding the rocker switch increases/decreases by 1, until you let it go. ICC will only activate (lane lines turn blue) when it’s on a straight stretch (after that, it will follow the lane, including curves etc) The granny charger pulls about 2.3 to 2.4 kw from the wall, but the car needs about 0.5kw to convert the AC to DC (the battery can’t store AC, so it has to be converted to DC before it goes into the battery). Therefore 1.7 or 1.8 kw going into the battery (which is what your car screen is showing) is absolutely correct, and as it should be. On the main screen, the following on screen gestures work really well: - swipe down from the top of the screen to see shortcuts (which you can customise). - swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see (and select from) all open windows. - swipe in from the side of the screen (left or right side) to perform a back/previous Happy motoring

Hi Jaymac460, Really appreciate your reply! Figured as much with the ICC but thought I would ask the question. Didn't consider that A/C current would have to be converted to DC so that now makes sense to me, cheers! Didn't know about swiping up from the bottom or the sides so really appreciate those tips. Cheers
