Seal - Door handles not retracting in Drive

StackH | 2025-06-23 06:38 | 25 views

I've only had the car about 6 weeks and in the middle of that I updated to 1.4.0, so not entirely sure if this was always like this or was caused by the update... If I unlock the car, get in, start it and put it into D and drive away, the door handles never retract. If I unlock the car, get in, start it and put it into R, the door handles retract immediately. It doesn't make any difference whether I unlock using the keyfob or the button on the door handle, they never retract in D. I've got the duration set to 2 mins, and if I unlock the car but don't open any doors the car automatically locks and the handles retract as expected. Manually locking the doors from inside also retracts all the handles. Does anyone else have the same? Trying to work out if this is normal or if I need to get the dealer to take a look (although I don't have much hope that they will know anything). Autos & Vehicles

Hi I assume you have Auto Lock While Driving activated?

No, because I don’t want the doors to lock, I just want the handles to retract in drive the same way they do in reverse. Thanks for the suggestion though. The auto lock feature does work when I switch it on., but that’s not the problem.

I believe they will only automatically retract when you engage auto lock. However, (I think it’s in the doors menu), you can select a a time period, in which the handles retract (Example 2 or 5 or 10mins). It’s really meant for when the car is parked and unlocked, and you just want the handles to retract without locking. That would work also for when driving, but only after the selected time has elapsed. To be honest, it’s just easier to allow the auto locking… Autos & Vehicles

I find the auto lock while driving feature quite logical and helpful but I understand it may be a driver's choice to drive their cars with all doors unlocked.

@StackH. Did you ever find a solution? My March 25 Seal is suffering from the exact same problem.
