Seal Performance DiSus C ?

Nicoloks | 2025-12-18 07:39 | 25 views

This seems like it should be a pretty significant update in the MY25 model that addresses many of the ride quality issues directed at the earlier performance models. Outside of some Malaysian YT channels that give their impressions for street driving, I've not seen any serious deep dives into how DiSus C handles in relation to FSD. Does anyone know of any reviews (or personal experience) doing a well rounded dive into DiSus C on the Seal Performance and how it performs in relation to FSD for track / urban / country road driving?

Isn't the disus-c the BYD name for frequency selective damping? In Europe we don't have the "performance" trim, instead it's called Excellence, but disus-c is never mentioned anywhere, only in markets where the performance trim is sold. The Excellence is the top AWD version with 530hp. Both RWD versions only show as multi-link suspension in the brochure.

I did drive the 2 models. I wanted a daily driver able to transform into a sporty sedan. The old model suspensions were way too firm for me. The new suspensions are better. In sport, they seem to handle as well as the original ones. Still quite firm. In comfort they are definitely softer. Still a bit firm.

They are different. FSD works using a passive mechanical system (reacts to suspension input), DiSus C is active dampening that can alter on the fly based on driving style, road or setting. Interesting the AWD model brochure makes no mention of it in Europe. Definably there in Australia (and Malaysia going on YT results). Perhaps explains the lack of coverage for it as on paper at least it reads like it should make a significant difference.

Thanks so much for the feedback. So you think they have softened the non sport ride rather than firm up the sport ride? That is interesting as my test drive of the MY25 Premium (which now has FSD which was previously exclusive to the Performance) seemed a touch in the firm side of a comfort ride, but quite a bit short of a sports feel. Wish my dealer had a Performance to test drive 🤔

Correct. They did not firm up the suspensions in sport. I'm kind of forgetting the fine details as I did drive it a couple of months ago. I thought in sport mode it was absorbing the road imperfections a tiny bit better. But it could be just an impression. The behaviour on winding roads was very similar to the previous model. In comfort the softer tuning was quite noticeable.

I ordered my Seal in July, should arrive next month. Not sure if it's a 2025 or 2026 model or equipped with this disus system. I did see the facelift Seal with new interior that released in 2025 which is also not available in Europe. The only model to mention anything disus is the Tang, that's the only model of which the brochure specifically mentions disus. Not sure why they won't give us the refresh model.

Got a 2025MY Seal Performance (equipped with Disus-C) as a loaner from dealership for a few days, while my 2024MY Seal Premium is being serviced. Based on what I feel, the suspension is noticeably firmer and harsher in whatever settings available, compared to the Premium. The 2025 Seal handled better though.
