Very poor DAB reception

Have had Seal for 4 days and much to like, although find road noise very sensitive to surface type and louder than expected. One or tow other issues such as bings and bongs that don't seem readily able to decide what they are for! However I'm sure will get used to that. The only problem for me is the DAB is awful The speakers are good on Spotify etc but I'm a bit old school and love live radio. The signal is continually dropping out on many if not most of my favourite stations. I know there is a strong signal as I have driven the same route in 4 different cars over the last 10 years with no problems. It also seems to be even worse when you put on the brakes?! I'm hoping there is a fault that can be fixed because I'm not sure I can accept a car with such awful reception. It's a shame as so much of it is so good. Does anyone know if BYD are aware of an issue and if there is anything can do to fix, or at least make a little better. Thank you Autos & Vehicles

yes DaB is very poor my tesla model 3 and our Jeep avenger all have superb DAB reception BYD is really poor in fact i have taken to listening to bbc sounds on car play instead for a car of this value it’s really bad perhaps the more people that complain it may force BYD to do something about it BYD are you listening?

Yes. My previous car had perfect DAB on my regular route to work but the Seal is always dropping out/crackling etc. Hope BYD can do something about it

I know this is going to sound utterly stupid but I’ll say it anyway. Have you tried retuning the DAB station list? I had exactly the same issue when I collected my Seal, great when I was parked up at the dealership, best reception ever but by the time I had arrived at my home destination, 20 miles away, it was awful. Now I admit I live in an area of the country where a very big dip/vale affects all signals of all kinds but this was truly awful. I sat in the car moaning for a couple of days every time the radio dropped out and then decided to spend a few minutes fiddling with the infotainment settings. Turns out the dealership had very kindly tuned the radio in the city and I had hundreds of stations but none worked where I lived. Retuned the DAB radio and voila, only twenty or so stations but all perfect and all National stations, set it to auto tune for when I’m out of the area and works great. Worth a try if you haven’t already done so.

Tuned mine at home (to last comment) and there are 2-3 definite areas of local town where DAB drops out. I lose radio completely & it comes back perhaps 30 seconds later. It does seem to be the only gremlin & hope, like others, that BYD have identified it.
