Sounds like a software bug. Contact the dealership and ask them for clarification. Early when the first BYD started selling in Japan they discovered a bug that made BYDs not charge in many ABB chargers in Japan. Lots of owners complained and soon they pushed a fix for it despite the issue being arguably with ABB rather than with BYD software. The dealership told me that they fixed it fast because many dealerships complained to the HQ that the customers were unhappy with that.

Thanks, going to do it this month or during 5k km maintenance/service.

Can't help as the only fast charging I've done is with Flash, which also worked great for me. Have you tried any of the expressway 150kW chargers? They generally have 90 Kw charges wherever they have 150 kW ones but if I ever have to charge on an expressway I'd really like to wring as much power out of each minute as possible as they charge so much per minute.
Let us know what you hear from the dealer.

Expressway ones I’ll try later during the trip to Tokyo. Already planned all the stops(mostly 90kwh).
I’ll try PCA(premium charging alliance) today or this week.
Just for the test. Because their prices are crazy. But their 150 kWh spots are open to visitors.
FLASH charges are nice, but both of them(in my area) are 20 minutes ride from me. And they charge only to 90%.
Now I’m mostly using ENEOS charge plus, but they are painfully slow

Thanks, let us know how it goes.
Weirdly I seem to have got 98% out of the Flash charger at Second Street in Matsumoto, not sure if it was a bug.
We should all pester Flash to let BYDs charge to 100%, I wish I could use them for calibration.

Just a heads up: eMP artificially throttles their 90 and 150kw chargers after a few minutes. I tested it while monitoring car battery temps and available charging power directly from the car computer. The throttling was very consistent, happened every single time.
Using the eMP card in non eMP branded chargers (Lexus, Renault, and Nissan) would not incur any throttling. Of course PowerX and FLASH also had no throttling. eMP is a scam. I cancelled my subscription with them because of that.
I do not recommend fully trusting eMP for those tests or wasting money in their chargers. I confess I did not notice throttling in their highway chargers at least (inside toll areas only), but that only makes a stronger point for not being just a bug in the chargers, since their 150kw machines are the same inside and outside the highways, although the 90kw ones appear different.

Shit, a lot of planned characters for the winter trip are emps.
How big is the throttle on 90kwh ones?
So far the best working is ENEOS charge plus. Slow, put stable.
Went to PowerX today and had 35kwh on 80%, it’s stupid.

It's not as bad as I made it seem, sorry. I mean, eMP is still scammy and we shouldn't give them any support, but if you are charging in the highways, as a "guest member", or very infrequently, you are unlikely to run into issues.
By the way, does the current software for the Seal in Japan have charging preconditioning? The Dolphin doesn't, so winter charging is painfully slow! At -5C, with cold batteries, the car won't take more than 10kw of power. It's my main gripe with BYD so far.

No, it’s 1.4 and in the world it’s already 2.1 or something.
If I’m not mistaken, this feature is from 2.0

Elsewhere I heard the throttling was after 15 minutes. I was quite tempted to try the 150kW for 15 minutes, if it'll give me 100kW for that long that's a decent amount of charge and even the guest price per kW isn't insane.
