Change the AC settings from eco to comfort, I think those are the names I can’t remember
Thanks!
Remove the plastic protector in the rear view mirror. Gets you a gorgeous frameless rear view mirror
Turn on autopower on / autopower off. What this will do is effectively synchronize "I am in the car" with "the car is powered on" so you don't have to press the start button after you get in. You always want the car powered on when you're inside it because if it detects a human there after it's been powered off for a while it gets worried that its meat cargo might be insufficiently refrigerated and starts honking its horn at your neighbours.
Thanks!
OK I have so many questions about the honking... Thanks for the tip!
Technically it's the Child Presence Detection system but it doesn't know the difference between a child and any other human.
I'll be sure not to lock any stray kids in there.
The what? EDIT: [WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THIS?!](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/hP25gH_aBps)
Set the seat memory. Organise the apps that you actually use. Link your phone to the car. Save the addresses that you frequently travel to on the navigation app.
Drove for almost a year until I saw the mirror looks so much fancier at dealership.. :(
Turn the sensitivity/effect level of the ADAS systems to their lowest/least sensitive setting. EU regulation means these system re-enable themselves whenever you start the car. At the low settings, they don't kick in that often and so are less annoying to live with. Also, note that the bottom bar menu on the screen can be configured - press and hold to start configuration, and you can drag them around, or replace them with other available buttons. You can do the same thing with the pull down menu (swipe down from the top of the screen). There should be a "Customise" button.
whoa, TIL
BYD, the only pollutant is the owner’s ‘donut smoke.’. 😅
If you're ok with a small anual subscription, get the app [Electro](https://electro.app.br/). It's 200% worth it.
Check out the latest software version, but I guess the dealer did this already. Setup Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to connect your phone. Adjust sound settings by your liking. Read the manual, learn the voice commands and enjoy driving!
What is this for?
Bot or genuine comment? Would like to also know what 'Electro' does.. Currently it looks like a sideloaded APK that runs through your browser which to me sounds and looks naff.
I hope your parking space for this over night isn't next to the curb?
Ah thanks for the concern. It's parked on my driveway overnight with a new bollard system on the way!
Thank god! Absolutely amazing colour by the way. I got mine in Polar White and seeing this makes me jealous
I nearly swapped it for the grey colour as that was in stock and mine was waiting to catch a boat from somewhere... But glad I waited!
> Turn the sensitivity/effect level of the ADAS systems to their lowest/least sensitive setting. Don't they reset every time you start the car?
It does some nice things like let you watch the cameras remotely, automatically start seat cooling/heating when you start the car, and a few more niceties. I liked it, but didn't love it, so I uninstalled it.
Yet another person here who didn’t realise that the frame on the rear view mirror was removable. Looks way better without it, but I had to put it straight back on because I was afraid I’d break it.
I've had it off since I bought my Seal, it's there, intact, even with all the headbutts I've given it accidentally. It's not as fragile as it looks, trust!
Not in my experience. They turn back on if you turn them off, but if set to a level, that seems to be kept.
I'm here to save this post, i get my Seal on friday 😌
Make sure the service interval dates are set far enough in the future. Mine was set to something like 90 days which worried me when I kept getting warning messages about having to take it to a dealer.
I had both mine and my wife’s iPhone connected while she drives the car only once a month without even using it. My best tip: remove her phone so CarPlay connects your phone by default. Another tip: disable TSR instead of SLW from the quick menu (swipe down) as it doesn’t ask a secondary question to disable it.
Nice, thank you, I'll do that.
The sentry mode and the dashcam feature is the highlight of the app for me. But besides that, I've found it is the one that is optimized the best compared to other options like Di+ and Sentry. The interface is also the best IMO. It's super easy to use.
No bot, real flesh here 😂 You can join the WhatsApp or Telegram communities if you want to discuss further about it. It was made by an independent developer from Brazil called Rory. The guy had the app free for almost a year during the beta period, but a couple months back the beta ended and it's now an anual subscription for $35 or so per car. I just personally think it's a great app that BYD owners should at least know about and then decide if they want/need it.
I tried having a nap in the backseat mid drive and soon got woken up by the car shouting at me for being a child in the back 😭😭
Thanks for the explanation. You didn't actually detail what it does though? What is different to the native app I can download for free and sync seamlessly with my car?
I tried to install it but unsuccessful on v2.0
Ok let me list the features: - Sentry mode - Dashcam (records 360° just like Teslacam) - Remote live camera feed (if you just want to see what's going on around your car when you're away from it) - Battery monitoring (temperature, SoC, SoH and voltage) - Trip history (records the distance you covered, trip duration, the map of where you started and ended the trip, total energy consumed, average consumption in kWh/100km, average speed, and then detailed graphs of speed, altitude, SoC, Power, Torque, motor RPM, outside temperature, battery cell temperature and voltage. Every time you interact with the graph, it shows where exactly in the trip the data was recorded, and you can narrow down the timestamps to better focus on any particular part of the trip you're interested in) - Charging history (kWh consumed, average charging power, duration, initial and final SoC, and some graphs for SoC, power, battery temperature and voltage) - And finally, if you have memory seats in your car, you can set the position you want before you get into the car. You can also set seat ventilation/heating for every time the car is turned on for both the driver and front passenger seats.
It only works on DiLink 3 international cars.
If you use a 'bring your own cable' charger which is common in Europe, enable the setting 'charge port immobiliser'. The car always locks the cable to itself when charging and locked. To remove the AC connector when its still charging, you have to press the unlock button twice. Normally, once the car reaches a 100%, it automatically unlocks the charger head, which is convenient if you want to pick it up in the morning. However, what the setting does is it lets the car 'hold on' to the cable even when it reaches 100%, so people cant unplug both ends and steal the cable.
So basically it does nothing? lol. All of that is just gimmick wants rather than needs. No way on earth am I paying a fee to be given them 'features' haha. Nice try though
My neighbor clubbed my Seal with their shitty car because they're bad at parking If nobody saw them and told me, I still wouldn't know who did it. So at the very least, YES I want Sentry mode. Can't believe this car is covered in 360 degree cameras that DONT FUCKING RECORD. I had to go and buy the OEM dashcam for some obscure reason. And even now, nothing records if you're not sitting in the car driving it!? This thing is covered in sensors that can detect proximity, motion, impact, etc. it has internal storage. It has cameras. It can 100% capture weird shit that happens to it while it's parked, it has all the technology to know if someone got too close, damaged or vandalized it. Yet it doesn't snitch. The rest of the features in this app seem kinda useless
I mean yeah, that does make sense to be honest. So can you utilise this without adding a dashcam? Like would the app unlock sentry and dashcam services without installing the OEM dashcam additionally?
No idea. I'm also worried that tampering with the system to allow sideloading unofficial apps onto your car will mess with the warranty, servicing and insurance. Plus, the cameras that come as standard in the vehicle are really low down, so the OEM dashcam would probably be better to give an accurate driver POV if you ever needed it for a claim or something
Yes, sentry mode records using the 360 camera.
