Tyre Preasure U.K - BYD Sealuk

Xaphans-shadow | 2025-11-21 14:50 | 24 views

Hi all, Im in the UK and have had this pop up in the last two days. I'm located in an area of England that has had snow recently. As you can see the preasure is the same on both back wheels, apart from the temp. Just wanted some opinions on if this is weather related, or may relate to a faulty sensor? This did happen on the day the snow hit. Cheers.

I would say your back left is 39.44 or below and your back right is 39.45 or above and this seems to be the tipping point for the low pressure warning. I had the same when I got my car new and once I had inflated all the tires to the recommended psi it went away.

Great! I will get these inflated and check the correct PSI. Cheers for your input and have a great day! 🙂

I think 36psi front and 42 rear is what I run at and no longer have any issues with the warnings

*pressure.

You’re supposed to be at 36psi front (250kpa or 2.5 bar) and 42psi rear (290kpa or 2.9 bar). Hence, the tyre pressure warning. The 36/42psi is cold tyre pressure.

I had this last week too for the two rear tyres. Pressure reduces in the cold weather so always worthwhile keeping a more regular eye on and topping up when tyres are cold!

Great! Thank you all for your input. I had a feeling it would be down to the sudden drop in temperature - good old british weather 😆. I have gone over the pressure requirements for the car and will get them all sorted tomorrow.

Boyle's law is a gas law, stating that the pressure and volume of a gas have an inverse relationship. If volume increases, then pressure decreases and vice versa, when the temperature is held constant. Your temperature across the tyres is not constant. I have finally got to use Boyle's law outside of my schooling!!!

Tire pressure is always weather / temperature related and we are very lucky that BYD has this amazing system (sensors for pressure + temperature). But tire pressure is also related to ... driving / rolling resistance. Below are my results after 21km of driving on a highway with a gps speed 141km/h, tire temperature raised by 12 Celsius degrees and pressure was up by +1,5bar (150kPa) front axle + 2bar (200kPa) rear axle ... up to the optimum 2.5bar / 2.9bar (i keep my pressure @ 2.45bar - 2.55bar front + 2.85bar - 2.95bar rear) - i've been testing pressure / temperature / how it's changing since few years (it's so easy now with BYD car). \- so NEVER do as producer says 36/42 (2,5/2,9) on cold! - because it's a too simple sentence ... pressure will always raise, the most in the summertime - if you f.e. put 2.9bar in a shadow / in the morning when there's f.e. 13 Celsius degrees ... you can end up with 3.5bar (during a 27 degrees Celsius day, when the car is parked in the direct sun) - and 3.5bar is usually the max. pressure for a tire! ... and you also don't want to drive a car with such a baloon. Every weather change (bigger temperature drop, raise) / season change (spring, summer, autumn, winter) ... demands a pressure update! It's really sad that there's not enough info about it for users. https://preview.redd.it/m4djqu0aju2g1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80c546275c9e764b49cd0abe1d29ce8e2e86b2ba

Mine are all set at 39psi as it came prepped from the dealer. Never occurred to me to check what the recommended pressures are.

How did you set yours to psi, mine still ready kpa which is annoying

Lol, was waiting for it, years 😂😂
