Perhaps 99 out of 100 Seals are experiencing the very same issue here. How can this be a generic mechanical fault for everyone? I want to understand. Gpt says it’s purely software based issue.

I haven't experienced it in the AWD, or perhaps I should say I haven't experienced it yet....

Nitrogliserin 2026-01-16 19:09

AWD is pretty much safe 👍

chocopanda1997 2026-01-16 19:52

I've the 2025 Seal premium. Haven't experienced this.

pootie107 2026-01-17 00:29

I have shudder in the AWD too at 30k

Lumenatti99 2026-01-17 02:19

2023 Seal Perf AWD and have the shudder vibration from about 55kmh to about 68kmh and 110kmh plus or so under heavy acceleration. Still has not been fixed. BYD service is horrible. Will never buy another one. Still fighting for a fix. Trying another service department in Feb here in Sydney. Def an issue. Someone has had their driveshafts replaced and fixed it for 2k kms and it’s come back. Also there’s a TSB floating out there about it. Message me if interested in discussing the issues. There’s ABSOLUTELY a problem with the cars. I’m thinking it’s the rear motors that have the issue. As it’s seems to affect more the a just the Perf AWD. Although it seems to affect the AWD more frequently for some reason.

Lumenatti99 2026-01-17 02:21

It’s definitely a mechanical issue, just don’t know the fix. Someone has had drive shafts replaced and fixed the issue for 2k kms and it’s come back for this other owner. Still awaiting BYD to fix ours. Software is not the issue

Upbeat-Recording-141 2026-01-17 05:08

Fine here.

buthidae 2026-01-17 12:03

My 2024 Premium has this exact issue

Lumenatti99 2026-01-17 12:12

AWD with the vibration. It’s the rear motor as it shares the same motor as the Premium, which people also have issue with. It’s not a matter of if but when. Major fault in the drivetrain. There’s a TSB about it.

Lumenatti99 2026-01-17 12:22

We’ve had the shudder since about 29k kms as well nearly at 40k kms

Cavo 2026-01-17 14:35

Mine was super subtle and generally when it was cold, needed a new drive shaft, simple under warranty, but also kind of worrying

Well this is interesting, for potential wanna-be new owners. Please keep this thread updated for those looking for a fix.

I did at 60-70km under load. Just got my drive shafts replaced on Friday and now it’s all smooth.

shadjor 2026-01-18 12:54

One thing is I put it in sports mode because its far more pronounced. And then the second part was I had to demonstrate it to them which is not as easy as you would think when the Service centre is in the middle of a residential area so I was trying to accelerate and not kill pedestrians and avoid speed bumps every 20 meters. Also chuck something plastic in the door pockets (I used empty bottles of water) because then you can also have an audible rattle.

shadjor 2026-01-18 13:00

From what I've read, the older driveshafts are thinner and more prone to being imbalanced. My wife drives the car mostly so I don't even know if it was always there or it happened over time. I think like a lot of drivers, she would have just lived with it because it wasn't annoying enough to raise. It took me about a month to realize what was going on because I thought initially it was vibration caused by the road surface.

Nitrogliserin 2026-01-19 07:01

You mentioned older but my Seal is MY25. Perhaps they didn't revise driveshafts.

Nitrogliserin 2026-01-19 07:02

That makes sense. RWD has half power of AWD. This vibration should be instant or is it not?

Nitrogliserin 2026-01-19 07:03

Where can I find this TSB?

Nitrogliserin 2026-01-19 07:05

Were you able to see the taken parts (driveshafts)? People mentioned that the issue comes back after 2-5k miles. Hope you don't witness that.

shadjor 2026-01-19 07:13

I didn’t get to see it. Hoping it doesn’t come back. I have enough car issues to deal with.

shadjor 2026-01-19 07:21

Still not sure if it’s true about a revised drive shafts because I’ve only seen it mentioned once. It would make sense if there is a large failure rate. Then again plenty of car manufacturers replacing shitty parts with equally shitty parts until the warranty expires.

As above

Hi! For me, it generates vibrations and resonance. It's at its peak at 110 km/h, but these vibrations make the road feel very poorly filtered, and you can feel every imperfection. The vibration/resonance is noticeable even at low speeds and makes the car uncomfortable, sometimes more than others. It also happens in neutral. I've noticed that when braking in neutral, the resonance and noise are amplified (it's clear something is rotating). I don't know if it could be: - the brake caliper pressing - warped brake discs - misaligned/worn wheel bearings - tires (they've already been replaced, but I've noticed the noise decreases when they warm up) - I've ruled out the drive shafts; it's the same both when accelerating and in neutral (N). (Do you agree?) I'm going crazy. The mechanics at the shop have no clue; they're just taking a measurement sent to them from China as part of the service. It seems like they're trying to wear me out. Cheers!

Nitrogliserin 2026-01-27 08:37

Did you take it to the wheel alignment and balancing test? Did they check the steering box, control arm bushings?

Ok-Cryptographer3384 2026-02-06 20:05

Did you change the axles? Did that solve the problem? Thanks!

Cavo 2026-02-09 10:11

They replaced the entire drive shaft, took a day, worked perfectly after, warranty worked! Although the part had to ship from china which took 6 weeks or so, might be more in country now

Lumenatti99 2026-02-18 04:58

Confirmed finally months after bringing it in to several service centres, there is a significant vibration when accelerating hard. Centre is waiting BYD to approve the fix. Will post what the fix is once completed.

Lumenatti99 2026-02-19 07:30

Faulty rear driveshafts according to BYD service and some bearing seals are shredded. Service has put in to BYD corp to repair under warranty. Hopefully this solves the issue.

Ok-Cryptographer3384 2026-02-21 13:02

Can you say me where is the problem of the drive shaft? Where is the tolerance fail? How is discovered the root cause? Sorry for any question. I think my problem is the same, but the workshop is uneficiently. I want do my tests for do a comunication to BYD central with the root cause. Best regards, and sorry for my poor english 🤦🏽‍♂️.

Cavo 2026-02-23 07:48

No problem, sorry I don't really know the specifics as I sold it to move overseas shortly after it was changed. I noticed it generally on colder mornings when accelerating on the freeway, there was a very subtle rear vibration, which would generally go away after it had driven a bit or at high speed. Being used to the car I was the only person who really noticed, people used to ICE vehicles did not notice. Just went from super smooth to that slight vibration. Sorry I don't have more specifics

**📘 2026 Owner’s Manual Update** In the updated 2026 user manual, BYD now states that: * When battery temperature is low, **drive system output power may be limited** * Power delivery may **gradually return** as battery temperature increases * During sustained high-speed or high-load acceleration, the system may apply **temporary torque limitation** for protection This suggests that under certain thermal conditions, the inverter/BMS may limit or ramp torque delivery — especially during the transition from: >**constant torque → constant power region** Which typically occurs around **100–120 km/h** in many EVs.
