Optional Extras for the Seal

Professional-Snow380 | 2025-02-09 03:01 | 14 views

Hi all, I just placed an order for a new 2025 seal and got contacted about dash cameras, ceramic coating, ceramic treatment, ceramic window film and clipped assist. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the offered Iroad dashcameras and the ceramic window film. Is the quality of both products good or am I better off finding a thirdparty supplier. Thanks!

You'll overpay for every extra and you'll pay stamp duty on every extra. If you have the cash and you're time poor it's an option, and any warranty issues will all be handled in the one place.

I assume cabling is still there for Dash Cam in latest deliveries? If it is, it's easy to order and install the BYD one yourself. I did it, and I'm normally hopeless at that kinda stuff. If the cabling wasn't there, then maybe good idea, or if you aren't keen on pulling the cover off. No idea on Ceramics.

yeah its not even the byd one they are offering. its just standard car dealer sales piling on overpriced crap.

skip it. get that stuff done elsewhere.

Not worth it. Go to a highly rated tinting place (independent store so that reviews directly reflect their workmanship rather than a chain that can be hit or miss). Ours was less than $200 for the best available tint. Usually $400 for an entire car but the Seal has privacy glass on the rear windows so it’s only the drivers and passengers window that need tinting. The rest are too dark to be legally tinted so don’t get caught out paying whole car prices for 2 windows. Dashcam wise, I watched this [video](https://youtu.be/4AnyhHl3_tE?feature=shared) by Linus Tech Tips, and shared that knowledge with my friends and family. We all have Viofo A119 V3. Even those [testing it](https://imgur.com/a/tEEGjjs) find that model outperforms “pro” versions from the same brand.

go tell it to the OP

That's a bit crap, offering 3rd party one but not the integrated one?

Professional-Snow380 2025-02-10 02:51

Got told getting the integrated one may affect the 6 year car warranty not sure if that was a load of crap to scare me into forking out 1k for their dash cams or if that is an issue people have actually run into

Cheers will look into independent stores

I ceramic tinted everything except windscreen, ppf and viofo pro a229 3 channel and have inbuilt dashcam and parking protection using sideloaded program with the seals cameras. https://preview.redd.it/vmqaninwr8ie1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e01624bb49c8b9048bb4c27b7cb46e69f46b533f

Yeah that sounds like horseshit

Professional-Snow380 2025-02-11 08:44

From the image are those just the pre installed byd cameras that are being used for parking protection or are the front and rear recording from your dash cam (viofo pro a229). Also did you install a back up battery for parking protection? If not how is your cars battery health with parking protection on.

They are the seals cameras. Viofo is higher res.. I basically have 7 cameras.. As for backup battery no real need. There's a few ways to wire the dashcam, however I used the easiest which was obd2 power. Don't even really need parking for dashcam now I've got the sideloaded byd one. From what I've read online, once the 12v battery dips, the car battery juices it back up, however in saying so, if u hardwire the the dashcam or use odb power, there also an inbuilt cut off too.
