SealLion 7

dlutchy | 2025-01-18 08:28 | 16 views

Looking at purchasing my first EV. Upgrading from a Honda CRV(2008). I'm thinking of getting a SeaLion 7 later in the year. Anyone have any thoughts about this car?

nobody has thoughts about a car that isn't out yet.

I tried it in China, it's great. Basically the seal in suv shape.

Also if you are in the market for a sealion 7 you should check out the xpeng g6 as they are very similar sized, the xpeng long range version will likely have longer range than the byd as well as faster charging if you have access to fast chargers on road trips you might be doing.

The long range is a much slower car and uses an NMC battery. The Standard range has less range than both Sealion variants. And neither work on Tesla v3/v4 superchargers which make up a good chunk of fast charging points on long road trips.

Very good points. Also I am in Perth where non metro charging above 150kwh is basically non existent so fast charging is a minor concern for me. I am waiting for the pricing for the sealion 7 as the "one to beat" but I think the G6 is a consideration... the G6 doesn't have a frunk for some reason either. Not sure why that annoys me.

The G6 is better value than a Model Y that's for sure. But for the same price id still go an SL7. Only thing going for the G6 is the self driving tech it provides, but to me if the car drives like a slug then the tech it provides isn't enough of a reason to pick it over an SL7

Fast charge means shit tbh. There ain't many fast ones unless theyre tesla and it's already a minimum of an hour if you near empty
