BYD seal update

Glum_Salamander2144 | 2024-09-25 00:12 | 22 views

Is there a way to find out when the next firmware update will be released for the BYD Seal? I’m really anticipating it because the auto collision prevention feature gives me serious anxiety going through roundabouts. It’s so sensitive and has slammed the breaks on my numerous times when cars aren’t coming across me or at an intersection where a car is turning but maybe travelling a bit fast so the BYD thinks it’s not turning. The feature turns itself back on every time the car is started, which is a nuisance, as well as the child detection feature, which means if I am driving and we stop and I get out of the car (to go into a shop or whatever) I have to leave the keys in the car with my partner or the alarm will sound after a few minutes. So how can I find info on an upcoming update or report these problems?

Which version are you on? V1.2.1 reduced the false positives for roundabouts and it’s less sensitive now but if you already have it, I heard V1.3 is coming soon

People appear to be getting 1.3 at servicing, based on Facebook groups (a little speed alert on symbol is appearing on their centre screen along the top)

Yeah 1.2 fixed this issue for me. It was bad before that. What version are you currently on? On the child presence detection you can add a button on the pull down menu at the top of the entertainment screen. This takes you direct to the setting to switch off. It turns back on after a restart but I only turn it off in limited situations anyway

I picked up the car only last month so I assume it’s running he latest software? When I hit the upgrade button under the “version” tab it doesn’t offer an update.

I will have the 5000km service in a month or so, hopefully they will give me an update!

I got that one in an OTA

Do you have a screenshot of the software version? Some cars may not come updated with the latest software

I dont think so, mine is at BYD service(DK) now and I asked for the update/upgrade 1.3 but was told that it was not possible for them to do this. I was told to wait for OTA...

How do I check?

How do I check?

red_dragin 2024-09-25 07:11

Ah maybe that's the 1.2.1 that I didn't get

Is v1.3 the one rolling out the n Europe with integrated navigation / charging trip planning?

Nos_4r2 2024-09-25 13:31

v1.2.1 reduces the sensitivity but I still get it at T intersections creeping forward. It will just slam breaks before I can peak around the corner!

My software was just updated at my 5000km service (no idea what V it is though or how to check). The child detection presence used to be able to be turned off and I no longer can, and the slamming on the break unnecessarily is just as bad. It’s incredibly frustrating.

clare1122 2024-09-26 09:13

I think this has been removed in the latest update! I can no longer find a way to turn it off which is incredibly annoying.

Hit the car icon in the lower right of the entertainment screen. Then press system in the top right. Then Software Version - upgrade. Mine says ‘your car has been upgraded to the latest version: V1.2.1’

radicalroo 2024-09-29 02:18

I’m still on 1.2.1 so maybe you are ahead of me? Without the shortcut for me it is under: vehicle -> cabin perception

Glum_Salamander2144 2024-10-01 03:09

I can see I have the 2304 version. When I click upgrade it says “checking software, please wait” but then that notification goes away and nothing happens. Doesn’t say I have the latest version or offer me to update

clare1122 2024-10-03 09:38

Amazing! It has moved to there. Thank you!

Almost broke my neck a few times, the brakes are really hard on this feature
