Placed an order for a Seal

sch0003 | 2024-09-23 07:21 | 17 views

Just placed an order for a Seal Dynamic in Vic. Been told 10-12 wait from the fleet team, but customer experience is saying new shipment early this week and likely 3 week wait. Anyone else recently placed an order? These times are quite a bit different.

It’s possible the shipment of cars there have already been allocated to customers already. You might be able to get one early if someone cancels the order though, but who knows. I ordered my Seal Dynamic in around March or April and got it in May, which happened to be earlier than the expected delivery date of June. Congrats on your Seal though!

Your sales rep will be your best bet. When I got mine 2 months ago, was told there is delay in shipping by customer service and then called the sales rep he assigned me a car from someone’s order that was canceled. So I’d suggest you keep in contact with the sales person whom you might have to. I’m in NSW btw.

I got a message on my account on the BYD page asking me to set my preferred pickup location, date and time from a list of options, but when I took a day off work and arranged a lift to go pick up my new baby I was told that not only was there no car available for me, the location was also never used for picking up new cars (Indooroopilly). I might have cancelled the order were it not for the sales team finding me a Dolphin I could borrow and promising that they would deliver the Seal to me in about a week. Hopefully their system has improved in the last few months, but I would still recommend confirming pickup dates and locations with an actual person.

It depends on what is available at any moment and how they assign it to the different dealers. I was looking at a white premium and I was told to wait until the next ship arrived (November). After a couple of days I've got a call saying that they had been allocated a couple of cars in those specs. Go figure...

It depends where you are in the country. Eastern states get preferential treatment, so wait times tend to be a lot less. South Australia and Western Australia typically wait months because the stock gets dropped at eastern states first. BYDs ordering system is a mess. They don’t allocate cars based on order number or rank. It’s based on location and whether there’s any stock matching your description by the time the ship gets to your city

Bugger! I’m going through Indro for mine! Leasing company sorted it.

Ordered my Seal Performance early September and was originally told November delivery which after a week was updated to mid October. Was advised that the car was arriving into Port Sunday . So now hopefully not far off getting my new car. Figure there is customs entry, registration, and the usual preparation for delivery. On top of that the lease company needs to arrange payment and salary deductions with my employer. Hasn't been too long, but the anticipation makes it feel like forever.

Viking Paglia car carrier arrived Brisbane 29 SEP, now enroute to Port Kembla. So expect a bunch of orders will be filled soon

I ordered mine end of July and I still haven’t heard anything. Based in WA. Frustrating!
