Ok. I took delivery of my new Seal last month only to find no dash cam or option to have one in the UK After a bit of research I ordered one from TopBYD it arrived within 10 days, took me 5 mins to install, reset the car and it now works, see new icon Driving Recorder Autos & Vehicles

David: Just got my Seal and would like a dash cam. Where does the unit fit and where is the connection? Thanks Pete

Easy to install, cable in the housing already, pull off the plastic housing above rear view mirro, plug in camera and plug in cable, reset car, should boot up, just need a memory card Autos & Vehicles

A degree of trepidation but I would recommend anyone to have a crack. Just need a trim removal tool and the rest was easy. System recognises it and away we go. Funny why BYD don't fit it as standard?

Does it still work in the UK heard the latest update got rid of it?

The name has now changed to dashcam rather than driving recorder. Otherwise, its still the same

Just ordered a seal which will replace my current lease come November. Been reading different thing about UK versions, I know they don’t come with the camera which is fine, I can order one. But are the wires reinstalled? Some say yes others no? Also some have said the software was disabled in the uk in an update?

Not absolutely sure about 2025 model, but in previous ones, the wiring is already there, so you just need to order the camera (without wiring looms. The reason for no dashcam as standard in Europe is for GDPR data privacy...
