Byd Seal CPD fault

I have a Seal Excellence and really love it. Unfortunately, in the last couple of weeks the alarm has been going off every time I get out the car due to an issue with the sensor, and searching the internet, it seems to be a common fault. I've booked it in with the nearest dealer for fixing, but they can't say how long it will take to fix and want to charge me £30 a day for a hire car. I'm feeling very aggrieved by this charge, as the issue is a huge inconvenience anyway due to kids, family issues, work commitments etc. Is the dealer justified in charging this fee or should I argue it?

Just one check, do you have something plugged into the OBD? The alarm goes off if you do I think.

Hi, thanks for the idea, nothing plugged in. It started doing it about once a week and gradually got worse until it's every single time now. I'm waiting for a call back from the dealership manager about this courtesy car fee.

Surely it’s a warranty issue - don’t see why you should have to pay a penny if they’re putting in the claim

not a charge to fix the car. its a charge for a rental car.

By way of an update - I woke up at two am this morning and thought It's the air freshener. I have an air freshener dangling from the rear view mirror which I've removed and the alarm hasn't gone off again. Yes, I'm dopey but updating in case this can help anyone in the future.
