Seal ICC Speed Adjustment

Hi, I hope somebody can clear something up for me. Before owning the Seal I had VW ID3 with adaptive cruise control. When I engaged it the car would remain at the speed when it was set. However should the speed limit change the car would then adjust the speed to the new limit. For example if doing 30mph when engaged that speed would hold until entering a 40mph zone when it would increase to 40. I do not see this behavior in the Seal. The ICC holds the set speed until I adjust it manually (unless it encounters another vehicle going slower) regardless of the speed limit on the road. Is this correct behavior or have I set something wrong? In short it acts more like a dumb cruise control with an anti collision function.

In some of the BYDs I've driven, if I enter an area with a different speed limit, the car would prompt me to adjust to the new speed limit. I can choose to ignore it and remain at my current speed. It does not automatically set the cruise control to the new speed limit. Perhaps your Seal does the same? Did you notice it asks you to adjust to new speed limit?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't noticed that happening but I'm still quite new to it so it may be doing it. I'll look out for it.

Seal doesn't have that feature sadly. It detects the speed limit and nags you if you go over it but it doesn't affect the ICC, you have to set it manually.

If a new speed limit comes up via a sign, just flick the rocker switch down shortly. Then the speed limit from the new sign will be set. There is a point in the settings to activate/deactivate this behaviour

The ID3 did that occasionally. Does come as a bit of a shock. Still not seen it offering a new speed but I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks all for the advice.

I remember seeing this on my Seal but have it disabled. It's in the ADAS > Safety Assist called Intelligent Speed Limit Control. Found here: https://preview.redd.it/aw94g85uehjg1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07828191a5da2052c92df22aa1b26ba8edabc036

It actually does, it's called Intelligent Speed LImit Control. How well this works I cannot say, but I'd rather have it disabled considering the inaccuracy of traffic sign recognition. https://preview.redd.it/pgdr3mw7fhjg1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b736b6046113ae291735f661e3282a32d5827a86
