Seal 6 Dm-i Touring Test drive impressions

Hi, I have a positive sentiment regarding Chinese technology in general, so I had high hopes before doing a test drive of the Seal 6 Touring. I was the owner several years ago of a Passat, and I saw the Touring like going back to the good old Passat days. (+) positives of the Seal DM-i Touring Quite nice interior Cooling underneath your phone. Location of the USB ports. Large trunk Large fuel tank, 1000+km range Only 1 car configuration, easier to choose than on a VW for example. (-) negatives of the Seal DM-i Touring The interior is not made for tall people, I felt a little crammed in the car. The font on the front screen, showing speed, is way too small. No option to customize the display with bigger font. Blind spot warning did not work (even after turning the feature on/off) Very poor lane tracking system. On a slow curve on the highway, the car almost went straight into the guard rail. Cruise control only in steps of 5 km/h (on the Passat, you can control it 1 by 1 km/h) Blowing cool air inside the front seats makes a ridiculous high-speed fan noise. Audio is not great, sounds metallic. Android Auto connection not seemless. I had to try several times, enabling / disabling Bluetooth on my phone, connecting / disconnecting the usb Cable. (=) Overall impression I felt disappointed, quite far from the driving quality of a Passat. Everything feels a bit cheap (audio quality, driving assistance, fan noise, small font, ...) The main features felt like not being fully tested. Feels like BYD launched this car too early, more software development would have been better.

Crap on the inside, to only look good on the outside, buyer beware!

>Cruise control only in steps of 5 km/h (on the Passat, you can control it 1 by 1 km/h) speed can be adjusted in 1km/h increments by holding the rocker a little bit longer. small flick = 5km/h step holding a bit = 1km/h step

Seal 6 dm-i Comfort 2026 owner here, coming from a Mercedes C-Class 2020. It is surprising to write these things without ever seen and touched the interior. The interior is made of good quality materials, incredible build quality, and electronics that just work. Of course you may be comparing it to a Maybach...
