Auto power off when locking from app (Seal)

akaTheBull | 2026-01-31 18:14 | 2 views

I’ve got auto power off and on enabled in my Seal. When leaving the car and either locking using the key or digital key (NFC on mirror) the car powers off. However today I walked away from the car without locking and when I realised I locked the car remotely using the app, however it didn’t power off the car. Is this a glitch or does automatic power off only work with digital or physical key?

Not sure if it’s the same, but on my Sealion 7, locking from the app also turns off the car - unless you left the key in the car

Its the same for me. I actually dont mind it as occasionally I want to leave the car on but locked.

Why not just press the door button? That locks and turns off my car. Dont need to worry about key or NFC, although you do need the key fob on you I guess.

That’s the thing I don’t really carry the key. I’ve come from a Tesla where I’d leave my house key in the car and it didn’t have a physical key.

Fair enough can understand coming from Tesla how might be habit to do that, would be nice if when it did close up the door handles after period of time if it turned off too. Haven't tried it to see on mine if it does that.

There's a setting for that. Mine auto close after 2 minutes even if the cars unlocked and running.

Does it turn off eventually though, and yeah mine does too

Unfortunately I don't believe so. I've had a survey popup in the BYD app and an on/off command from the app was my main request.

Mine turns off, when locked from the app.

How do you find it so far switching from Tesla to there BYD? Considering doing the same
