Seal Door Handles Fail to Extend

Autos & Vehicles Many people do experience 1 or more door handles sticking, nd it happened to me as well. Usually a few squirts of a silicone based lubricant is enough to fix it. One of the rear handles was sticking with me a year ago. I sprayed all 4, and haven’t had an issue since. I presume that the dealer has at least tried that?

I noted in an article just the other day, can’t remember which paper it was in I’m afraid, that as of 2027 these handles are not going to be available on any future cars, across the board, not model or brand specific just across the board. The reason given in the paper was that on a number of occasions when involved in an accident the door handles have failed to open leaving rescuers unable to get passengers out easily. I haven’t seen any documentary evidence of this currently but it was mentioned in a recent TV news report relating to Tesla ! Not sure if they had a problem or were concerned about having a problem! It would be a great shame as hidden handles improve the look of a car immensely in my opinion.
