Divorced Tesla Fan Admits That His Cybertruck Is Repulsive to Women

A series of interviews with Cybertruck owners published by Wired provides compelling evidence that the brutalist Tesla trucks are driven by the most divorced men of all time. Take one such divorcee, San Diego entrepreneur Roger Davis, who flat out admits that his Cybertruck is repellant to women. “I was married, but I’m not married anymore,” Davis told the magazine. “Women don’t like the vehicle.” Single though he may be, Davis has an AI in his truck to make sure he doesn’t feel lonely: Grok, Elon Musk’s chatbot that infamously melted down earlier this year and started calling itself “MechaHitler.” Davis made clear that he calls the AI "Aura" — and that he uses "her" akin to a therapist.

VincibleAndy 2025-10-17 16:30

“I was in the vehicle by myself, and I was driving along a little stream, and all of a sudden through the trees I felt the light hit me,” Davis said. “And I’m going to call it a miracle, because it was.” “And then I just felt the presence of God and a deep peace and love. It really broke me down.” _________________________________ 👀👀👀

Its also repulsive to men.

can confirm

juiceology 2025-10-17 16:33

This is so sad in so many ways. He has a relationship with Transgender Elon Bot, with women voice DLC

gmwdim 2025-10-17 16:35

I was gonna say, it ain’t just women that are repulsed.

gmwdim 2025-10-17 16:36

Ah yes the Church of Elon.

A car that is a sign of financial mismanagement and moral depravity will do that to you.

jeanpaulsarde 2025-10-17 16:37

It's repulsive to any sentient being

punkrkr27 2025-10-17 16:38

Guy uses Grok in his Cybertruck as a companion and therapist? Yeah, that's gonna end well. /s

Emergency_Property_2 2025-10-17 16:38

Let’s be honest, it’s repulsive to everybody but the Elmo fanboys who bought them.

LVegasGuy 2025-10-17 16:39

Repulsive is the Cybertuck's target consumer.

supermr34 2025-10-17 16:41

The future is gonna be even more bullshit than today.

Ok_Muscle_3770 2025-10-17 16:41

Cybertruck owners might have watched Trevor Wallace's video and thought it was serious.

punasuga 2025-10-17 16:45

What does “woke” mean in this context?

karkonthemighty 2025-10-17 16:56

>Davis made clear that he calls the AI "Aura" — and that he uses "her" akin to a therapist. Don't... don't do that. Don't use an AI as a therapist. That's a real bad idea. "Men will rather do anything than get therapy" includes using a yes-man chat bot to validate their behaviour.

LifeRound2 2025-10-17 16:59

I'm unclear why this guy is not considered an incel. He's got Grok though.

teeming-with-life 2025-10-17 17:01

I can imagine myself sitting in one of those, driving it down the road. And then, for no reason, it breaks down. That's when I'd realize I have a ton of crap to wade through with a cocky company that thinks its customers are pesky cockroaches. What I can't imagine is why you would willingly put yourself through all of that.

ManifestDestinysChld 2025-10-17 17:02

From the WIRED article: >**What’s the craziest interaction you’ve had with someone while driving the car?** >A while back, I went into Whole Foods to drop off an Amazon package. And usually I wear work boots because I do construction. So I go in, and of course a lady in an electric Mustang comes and puts this note on my car. \[*It read: “This is an extension of your small dick*.”\] She doesn't know these cars record 24/7. So it recorded her putting the note on, and when I came out, I saw the note, and naturally I'm looking to see who put the note on my car. And sure as heck she’s right there. >So I got out and said to her, “Why’d you feel the need to put a note on my car?” She said, “That's because you're driving this and I'm offended.” She called me a Nazi! >So we start talking and she says, “Well, I saw you get out of your truck with your boots, and you're like a big white man. I guess I just assumed because Elon's a Nazi and you fit the profile …” I stopped her and I was like, “My last name is Goldman, what heritage do you think that is?” She's like, “That's Jewish. My wife is Jewish.” I said, ‘OK, so you just accused me of being a Nazi when I'm a Jew. And you said that your wife was Jewish, so I'm assuming you're gay. Is that a safe assumption?” She said yes, and I said, “OK, so did you ever get profiled anytime in your life for being gay?” And she says, “Yeah, all the time. I hated it.” And I was like, “Well, do you realize that you just profiled me based off of the vehicle that I drive and me wearing work boots and being a big white guy as being a Nazi when it's completely something totally different?” And she broke down in tears and apologized. I'm a huge supporter in the gay community out here. So to call me a Nazi homophobe, it just blew my mind. Of all the made-up things that never happened, that one might be the most made-up. Let's see the video. If it exists, you know he kept that shit. So let's see it.

ManifestDestinysChld 2025-10-17 17:03

>I've always been kind of a cyberpunk, so I fell in love with it right away. SLEEPING PILLS MY ONLY FRIEND

ManifestDestinysChld 2025-10-17 17:04

>**How do you feel about becoming a political lightning rod?** >People occasionally just flip \[me\] off or whatever, but nobody's come up to me and tried to make a statement about anything. Personally, it's kind of dumb. It's just a vehicle. So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is. \[*Editor’s note: Taylor was arrested and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. He was later pardoned by President Trump.*\] If you don't have a WIRED subscription this year, you're missing out

Mycalescott 2025-10-17 17:05

Can confirm: my wife always makes this weird barf noise every time we see one. Thankfully we don't see too many

Horror_Response_1991 2025-10-17 17:13

As a guy I’m much more repulsed by them. But it’s more likely the women are repulsed by the kind of person who would  buy a Cybertruck.

amplaylife 2025-10-17 17:15

Should be reposted under /noshitsherlock

dpdxguy 2025-10-17 17:15

>“When I’m driving, I’ll ask questions, and it actually gives really good therapy advice,” he added. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 If this choad could actually recognize good advice, he wouldn't have bought that woman repelling vehicle in the first place! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 EDIT: *wouldn't*

reddit_is_fash_trash 2025-10-17 17:17

>Davis made clear that he calls the AI "Aura" — and that he uses "her" akin to a therapist. Men really will do literally anything other than go to therapy.

RocketLabBeatsSpaceX 2025-10-17 17:23

When I lived in Pacific Beach there were one or two I saw frequently. I’d like to think I drove by ol’ Roger on more than one occasion. Lol

Cyberbeast is totally amazing.... anyone saying otherwise is a dumb loser.....

secretlyjudging 2025-10-17 18:00

I’ve yet to see a Cybertruck do truck stuff in NYC. Every driver either looks like he’s defiant about something or has that expression of “why am I driving this?”

NotThatTodd 2025-10-17 18:02

Women are repulsed by the kind of men who like cybertrucks.

I_just_made 2025-10-17 18:09

It’s a stupid car, but I’d put my money on the personality of the driver as being the thing that’s repulsing people.

MonsieurReynard 2025-10-17 18:09

Somebody should check his hard drive.

cylonrobot 2025-10-17 18:12

I first saw one in the wild in early 2024, and I was amazed at how bad it looked. Pictures don't convey how bad they really are.

PerfectPercentage69 2025-10-17 18:19

StellarJayZ 2025-10-17 18:34

When you're getting therapy from your car you are just gone, man. If the ex wife is reading this, she's probably like "wow it actually got worse!"

gmwdim 2025-10-17 18:35

So that’s why so many of them come in ridiculous colors and wraps. It’s a douchebag competition among them. Not enough to just have a generic Nazimobile, needs to be extra horrible.

PilotKnob 2025-10-17 18:44

They're really not holding back, and I love it.

cryptotrader87 2025-10-17 18:55

Tesla had such a great opportunity to compete with Rivian, the future scout and others. Having a regular truck that keeps to current Tesla car design would have blown the market out of the water. They really need to admit defeat and pull the plug on this car.

hippotango 2025-10-17 19:04

Surprised no one commented on the actual Nazi mentioned at the bottom of the article.

CapnTreee 2025-10-17 19:04

Uhh der, shoot, they can see that I'm a shallow racist Momma, now what kin I do??

needssomefun 2025-10-17 19:05

Hellkyte 2025-10-17 19:22

That article is amazing. First dude uses grok as a therapist Second guy says he doesn't get why people politicize it, and then it turns out he is a J6 pardonee

Janky_Forklift 2025-10-17 19:30

It is also just super godawful ugly.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:32

After reading a piece of this I suddenly feel like I need another shower.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:33

Could it be more than tha CT, like maybe the fact that he's a few short of a sixpack? But then again the CT alone is an strong indicator of that fact.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:34

It's looks like some frankenstein car, thrown together by some high school autoshop from scrap parts.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:35

Pretentious douchemobile.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:36

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:36

.. and on the road.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:37

Maybe that's Grok's problem.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:39

...and anyone else with an ounce of taste.

BringBackUsenet 2025-10-17 19:40

That would acutally involve things like real engineering and setting up a system of quality controls.

IntelliDev 2025-10-17 19:41

Yeah lmao, and it's not unnecessarily long either.

Darryl_Lict 2025-10-17 19:44

I wouldn’t take that bet.

BeefSupremeeeeee 2025-10-17 20:34

Married men are generally not allowed to make poor decisions like this because of their wives. When I got divorced, I bought a sports car that my kids could barely fit in the back of. After I got remarried, the sports car went away, drive a 4 door SUV now.....

Mecha_Magpie 2025-10-17 20:38

I'm pretty sure calling the rolling toaster "brutalist" just triggered every single architecture nerd on the internet, but since I'm not one I can't explain why

jaimi_wanders 2025-10-17 20:55

pzerr 2025-10-17 21:00

pzerr 2025-10-17 21:08

If you spend an hour each day shinning it up, you can make it look... ok. I mean ignoring it just looks like some not particularly interesting design. But everyone I see now is all blotchy. Even if they are somewhat clean, it looks like crap. And that will be the day I am beholden to a vehicle to keep it looking somewhat nice.

DreadpirateBG 2025-10-17 21:20

Ok I don’t hate the cyber truck. I think it is a unique vehicle and I think it’s cool that they tried something different. I would buy it just for that. The issue the fail is the quality, the safety and other things. There should not be sharp edges the entire industry knows about then radii that is needed for safety and other issues. As with all their cars manual door release needs to be obvious and easy to reach. Even with fragments yellow identification. They had potential and just made stupid choices an I think we all know who made those.

Phosistication 2025-10-17 21:28

Wow. Who’d of thought women would be repulsed by vehicles made by a South African Naz1?

esther_lamonte 2025-10-18 11:25

In 2025 while Israel commits a genocide and Stephen Miller is pushing for Christian Nationalism, “I can’t be a Nazi, I’m a Jew” is 100% a tell that someone is probably a little Nazi. Inferring morality based on ethnicity is pretty much Nazi 101.

MyNutsin1080p 2025-10-18 17:27

Life, uh, finds a way.

MyNutsin1080p 2025-10-18 17:38

So in 1991 there was this sci-fi movie that came out called *Freejack* that was set mostly in the year 2009. In an interview with the production designer, they said “the movie is eighteen years into the future, so I figured 2009 wouldn’t look too different, it would just be the cars that are different.” That movie had some real cars in it, but also made-up future cars. Those cars were built by taking the chassis of an existing mass-produced car and slapping some custom form over it. A lot of those kinds of cars were not all that good-looking, but to be in a background shot for a few seconds when it’s not the focus of the scene? It will work. The cybertruck looks like one of those movie cars, but now we get to take a look at it from every unflattering angle. It looks not just ugly but *wrong*. It’s got weird dimensions and proportions, with too geometrically simple a shape. It almost looks like it’s 15-20% too big when you see one on the road.

meshreplacer 2025-10-18 18:22

The chicken and the egg question. Is it that people who are repulsive to women buy Cybertrucks?

infamusforever223 2025-10-18 18:59

It's repulsive period.

Sine_Fine_Belli 2025-10-18 19:55

The future is even worse than the worst cyberpunk dystopias ever created

Sine_Fine_Belli 2025-10-18 19:55

I can confirm this, I think the cyber truck sucks

RandomlyJim 2025-10-18 21:26

This is the saddest thing I’ve read. My wife and her girlfriends make a habit of flipping a bird at every one they see. They call them diaper trucks because they are driven by babies. They mock them. And every time I see one, it’s driven by the exact type of douche bag you’d expect.

MountainManGuy 2025-10-18 22:11

Can confirm. Literally had multiple women tell me they wouldn't date me if I owned one. This wasn't just one occurrence. There's not a single other vehicle on the road that would spark that sort of comment. Pretty sure I could get more chicks with the Oscar Meyer Weiner mobile.

OrdinaryPollution339 2025-10-19 00:37

here you go (I am an architecture nerd): "brutalism" is an anglicized version of "beton brut" aka raw concrete in French. It literally means exposed concrete. It was a popular style in post-war Europe. The IncEl Camino as originally rendered was an example of minimalism. Saturday Night Live suggested a car made of adobe, but to my knowledge no manufacturer has ever made a car of exposed concrete.1 The CT (when sharply rendered) is similar to the stainless steel sculptures of American artist Donald Judd. The CT as actually built by Or Hero Elmo (who knows more about manufacturing than anyone alive!) is similar to stainless urinals or beat-up commercial kitchens. If I was going to assign a style to the built project, I might use "dystopian industrial" or perhaps "shiny vulgarian," (a style I invented). 1. there were some experiments with concrete ships in ww2. It's crazy! google "concrete warships" if you want to go down that fascinating rabbit hole.

keleko67 2025-10-19 11:06

Yesterday I saw a matte black Cybertruck parking in a strip mall spot. I was surprised that a woman driver got out. She looked like she could be an employee of the Trump admin, so there may be a narrow niche of women who do like the Cybertruck.

JM-Gurgeh 2025-10-19 14:46

definition of an Emotional Support Truck...

zeeper25 2025-10-19 15:57

Dude who has the off-road business Smugglersruns (who happens to be a pardoned domestic terrorist) drives a Cybertruck, worst vehicle for both off road adventures, and attracting women...

beren12 2025-10-20 00:49

It’s repulsive to men too

Stannis-B 2025-10-20 02:05

Fakest story I’ve heard in quite some time. That imaginary dialogue was painful to read. “I saw you get out of your truck with your boots…I guess I just assumed…” and then they get into a deep personal conversation about ethnicity and sexuality, in the parking lot 🅿️ gimme a frickin break pal lol

nlaak 2025-10-20 13:55

> “Women don’t like the vehicle.” I'm pretty sure it's more that they don't like the personalities of men who like the vehicle.

svmonkey 2025-10-20 19:56

Cybertrucks are repulsive to anyone with good taste

cybew_twuck_dwivew 2025-10-21 00:22

soycerersupreme 2025-10-21 04:49

Whom have you been having intercourse with? The truck doesn’t count

Opposite-Chemistry-0 2025-10-21 05:29

Women? Not only. The car is repulsive to most of people

ready-redditor-6969 2025-10-21 22:54

Poor dude could have been walking, imagine the connection with nature possible without being encapsulated in a moving trash bin.

Mushroom_Tip 2025-10-22 01:25

counterpoint: you also seem like you completely repulse women.

Available_Draft_6225 2025-10-23 10:27

You sound like the kind of fella who holds the door open for his wife’s boyfriend.

RandomlyJim 2025-10-23 11:55

You’re the exact type of guy to call a man you don’t know ‘daddy.’. What color wrap is on your Cybertruck?

Available_Draft_6225 2025-10-23 12:03

I don’t have a cyber truck. I also don’t obsess over other people’s vehicle choices.

RandomlyJim 2025-10-23 12:05

Thanks for clarifying that. But it’s weird you didn’t argue about calling other dudes ‘daddy’. Have a great day!

mackfactor 2025-10-23 19:17

I think maybe, just maybe, Cybertruck owners might be more repulsive to women than the trucks themselves.
