Thanks for sharing this! If you want the normal speaking speed, bump playback speed to 0.85x.
Dang it's already built and out? Seems it went from rumor to being on the street really fast.
Damn the 3rd row looks actually useable.
They’re electric cars, they’re naturally fast
A white trunk, that is, eh, an interesting choice.
Watched the video, interesting that the second row you can adjust more back to give even more legroom and recline it to 125 degrees. Also he states that the 3rd row is similar to model 3 second row, this part he might be exaggerating…
I want to know if they added AC vents in the 3rd row. Because it gets pretty hot back there.
They dud
They have added vents to the B and C pillar areas
Nice
Nuce
I can see this becoming really popular with families who have pets. Parent up front, kids in the captains chairs and Fido in row 3 with the seats folded down and hogging a vent.
This needs to come to the US asap so I can upgrade my 2019 model 3
Got em
Makes me wish Level 5 FSD was electric!
This would sell like crazy in Europe!
This car looks amazing!
Not only that, but the 2nd row seats can also be folded down. That’s not possible in my 23 6-seat MX.
This is china. Things move pretty quickly. It may be a year or three before Europe/USA.
I love this. In everyway it's a better car. Better aerodynamics, arguably looks better proportioned, much more usable space, the arm rests, the vents. Makes a very usable car even more so. The Y as a bed with the seats folded as well. The 3rd row looks genuinely impressive. Tesla was looking a bit stale and confused. This is awesome.
Yah but look at size standing next to the car. He isn't big.
They are waiting for the tax break the expire for that.
Interesting to see that wireless charging is now air cooled
Thank you, now I don't understand the language 15% slower
I don't understand why many of the improvements aren't in the regular new Y. They must have been developed side-to-side. Things like the AC vents, the bigger screen, the new seats. Should all have been in the regular Y. Makes me a bit mad tbh.
All round good review. Even though I'm a native Chinese speaker, listening to the guy pronounce the "L" awkwardly every time he says it is still difficult.
It’s so ridiculous that China got this first when the US has been begging for a usable 3rd row since…forever. Even most of the X 3rd row configurations over the years have sucked.
Number 1 EV market in the world is China. Plus, disrupting the factories in the U.S. while folks are clamoring for the vehicles with the end of the IRA ‘22 tax credits doesn’t make sense. It would make sense to take that hit in Q4.
The arm rests on the 2nd row are interesting. It shows how far Tesla has come since the model X. Third row is interesting too. If this was released in the US the X sales would go down quite a bit further. I wish Tesla would create a new platform and make a few cars based on that. A minivan, large 3 row vehicle, and even adapt it for a work van. One platform and take on a few different segments. I like my X plaid, but the falcon wing doors are stupid and the interior space is not utilized well at all. 3rd row is small and the trunk is tiny. The 2nd row captains chairs look cool but no arm rests, dont fold, and adjustability sucks.
This thing is awesome! It seems to be only for the Chinese market, but I really think it would expand its market presence here in the US. With FSD it might give me something to think about vs a Rivian R2.
Isn't the US typically a year or less behind?
and arm rests! the X 6 seater doesnt have arm rests always an annoyance for me
TIL the L in MYL means luxury. For some reason I thought it meant LONG. also those armrests in the middle row are funky AF.
This is nice
ZoomZoom > VroomVroom
He's 5ft 9 (179cm)
Looks great for children and smaller people.
European launch seems logical since it was also spotted testing in Germany.
What the heck are zero gravity seats? That’s his complaint. He said he doesn’t want the electric armrest he wants a thigh booster and zero gravity seats. Love the third row A/C I think it’s still going to take some honest reviews to see if it’s actually feasible. We have a Y with 7 seats and I can’t believe that made it through blueprints.
Hopefully October 1
more like 5ft11
The features are nice! Even if Tesla copy pasted this into the X it would still be great as the X is a bit wider (American sized). I’d buy one ☝️
It looks like the rear doesn’t taper off as aggressively as the existing Model Y, leaving more headspace in the 3rd row and likely more storage in the trunk. This would be an instant purchase for me if it’s sold in the US.
Zero gravity seats are a popular feature in larger chinese market cars. Google it and you'll see some examples.
Generally Tesla implements new things randomly, for example, in the older Y, they added a new wood trim on the doors around Summer 2022 for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Too big for my needs but yea, I'm surprised there are so many upgrades-better NVH, better suspension, etc.
I think the idea is so they give you a bit more space to get to the 3rd row vs flipping them up like in regular cars
I get that. But they also try to share parts between models as much as possible. So why not do that between almost identical cars?
He said he's 5'11(179cm) but has a long torso and short legs so more like 5'9 (175cm) leg length while sitting and 6'1 (185cm) head height.
It’s been rumored for over a year.
Since Australia no longer has the X, I need a good 3-row upgrade path. Bring this to Australia asap please Tesla!!
This will sell well in the US. I wonder if it has its own frame/gigacast compared to the regular Y?
Same, starting to think the new model Y L is better for families than model x
Also impressed. And yeah proportions work better with the extra length for some reason.
New 3 and Y also hit China first. USA came a few months later after they worked through the bugs and could help train US production teams
Good to know! I have 2 from 2018 so I don’t stay on top of the latest news like that.
It's beautiful. 🤩
I like it
Do I have to pixelate my junk every time I get back there, too?
Honestly surprised how much extra ground clearance it got! 31mm is a substantial lift.
Very curious if it actually comes to the US with all these features intact. The adjustable dampers, ventilated second row captains chairs, etc. Would make it a lot more likely that we upgrade if it actually comes with all these features!
There’s a lot of reasons to launch in China first. It’s a MUCH more competitive EV market there so they need to keep up against the Chinese competition, but Tesla Shanghai is also a much more intense Chinese workaholic type of factory where upgrades are going to get done ASAP. The equivalent US factories just aren’t going to move that quickly when rolling out a new model.
Glad I didn’t upgrade to the juniper. This is a lot better. I don’t even need the third row, I’ll probably have it down most of the time. But the luxury touches are amazing
how much bigger is it than the regular Y?
When’s it coming to Japan?
Aus gets Shanghai giga built cars so it’s likely we might actually get this here
this is dangerously good.
Wouldn't they want people to be able to use the tax break?
I wish they made a version of the regular y with these luxury touches.
this will probably not come to the states because american people are big and fat. 😂 sad sad sad.
I agree, this is what juniper should’ve been.
Why do car influencers always stand with their arms up? Cringe
People are way too excited over one extra seat for $7000.
