ConfidentImage4266 | 2025-08-18 14:40 | 650 views

New vents for both the second and third rows, new front seats, controls for third row passengers to lower seats.

Interesting cupholders and armrests for the 3rd row as well. I wonder if there is USB charging etc. as well.

HYtool 2025-08-18 15:02

They should change the model X 6 seaters second row to these folding type, MYYY interior very nice look like alcantara inerior

LegitimatePea2758 2025-08-18 15:09

I'd buy one without the third row in a heartbeat. IDGAF about more passengers, I just want more space when camping and hauling stuff.

TheTimeIsChow 2025-08-18 15:09

Oh look, adjustable head rests in the front. Only took 15 years to recognize the fact that not every owner is the exact same height.

KanyePikaMyChu 2025-08-18 15:10

Black headliner as well

Brutaka1 2025-08-18 15:10

They need to bring this into the US. I don't care for the third row though.

Posture_Chk 2025-08-18 15:11

Two foldable rows!?

sunfishtommy 2025-08-18 15:14

Still looks super uncomfortable. It need to be adjustable forward and back, the forward back adjustment is way more important than up and down.

Jamin1337 2025-08-18 15:14

Adjustable headrest and extendable thigh support on the front seats. Nice 👌

sunfishtommy 2025-08-18 15:18

We heard your feedback about how you didn't like how the headrest forces your head forward into an unnatural position. So now we made the headrest part of the seat so its impossible to modify or remove. Thats what you wanted right? /s Seriously this seat would look comfortable if it wasn't for that giant headrest projecting 3 inches off the front of the seat.

venk 2025-08-18 15:18

Full flat folding 2nd row, does the X do that yet?

hattyhat24 2025-08-18 15:18

Very cool. This has to be coming here right? There's still a huge gap price wise to the Model X, so I cant imagine Tesla thinking this would cannibalize sales.

Terrible_Soil_4778 2025-08-18 15:24

I like the seats

Gold-Passion-7358 2025-08-18 15:27

Those headrests are obnoxious

RyanB95 2025-08-18 15:32

One of those times where they’re trying to reinvent the wheel and miss the mark completely

Taylooor 2025-08-18 15:35

You could probably remove the second row

yhsong1116 2025-08-18 15:38

Maximum utility

yhsong1116 2025-08-18 15:38

Rumor says it’s going to be produced world wide

yhsong1116 2025-08-18 15:38

Not if u have six seats

Straight-Grand-4144 2025-08-18 15:39

How do you get out from the 3rd row, though?

Infamous_Tour_2232 2025-08-18 15:40

Is that screen slanted upwards more?

spectradawn77 2025-08-18 15:42

As an X owner... this is INSANE to me that they don't do that.

emmysdadforever 2025-08-18 15:43

Same but I’d want the second row to be bench for the poochies!!

Iamcheez 2025-08-18 15:43

Do I see stalks?!

venk 2025-08-18 15:43

Silliest thing about the 6 Seat X, it’s seems like such a waste of cargo capacity. The 7 seater is the far superior model and $3500 less.

TheRuggedHamster 2025-08-18 15:44

they don't have much to lose on X sales

TheRuggedHamster 2025-08-18 15:46

I'm thinking these front seats are going to be in the Y performance....

bphase 2025-08-18 15:46

X "replacement" then maybe?

sixfourtykilo 2025-08-18 15:48

Nah. The EV market still needs a minivan.

President_Connor_Roy 2025-08-18 15:48

I would buy the shit out of this in a heartbeat. Please, please come to the US.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-08-18 15:49

The refreshed Model Y already has a turn signal stalk.

WhereCanIFind 2025-08-18 15:52

Thought they would fold flatter but still nice nonetheless.

cbelliott 2025-08-18 15:54

Looks awesome. As others have said - this setup with the 3rd row seats outta there would be epic for hauling stuff around, car camping, etc.

specter491 2025-08-18 16:00

The captain chairs in the X seemed pretty crappy to me when I test drove it. There are no arm rests and the seat is missing the expected full range of motion/adjustment that other captains chairs in other brands have. IIRC the angle between the seat and back rest is fixed, the seat only moves forward, back, up, down and tilts forward/back.

rainer_d 2025-08-18 16:00

They sell a two seater in France, IIRC

ChunkyThePotato 2025-08-18 16:02

I guess it's for aesthetics, but yeah it's not practical.

Every_Tap8117 2025-08-18 16:02

FINALLY.

manchegoo 2025-08-18 16:03

Yep only problem is you can't get the Plaid in the 7-seater for some ridiculous reason.

FIREgenomics 2025-08-18 16:05

Old 7-seater has armrests, plus cup holders and usbC in between the two third row seats.

ApeX_PN01 2025-08-18 16:07

They have had adjustable headrests before, though.

petard 2025-08-18 16:11

My 2018 Model S had power adjustable headrests and ventilated seats. Those features were dropped shortly after, but ventilation returned a year or so later.

petard 2025-08-18 16:14

Yeah, I think this wheelbase but with the standard 5-seat arrangement would take most of the sales over the standard version, as long as it's not more than \~$3000 more. Americans love cargo capacity and 6 inches extra length doesn't make it any meaningfully less maneuverable or parkable.

PresentAd9429 2025-08-18 16:31

No armrest for the second row? The front seat looks a bit longer?

Iamcheez 2025-08-18 16:40

had no clue

Narwhalcommando 2025-08-18 16:49

wonder if the darker headliner upholstery will make it to the production model or if it is only for the test mule

ChrisRx718 2025-08-18 17:00

Just ordered an ID.BUZZ, this is going to arrive too late for me (I'm in the UK... If we even get it at all). Totally different proposition of a vehicle (it's a van) but there would probably be a lot of demand for this, seeing as the Model X was both overpriced and only available in LHD in a RHD market...

jabroni4545 2025-08-18 17:01

Id buzz

boomHeadSh0t 2025-08-18 17:04

What does Y L mean

auburntygur 2025-08-18 17:07

We bought a 6 seat X specifically because the tilt solution is so much better when you have car seats installed. Obviously a seat that could either tilt or fold is best but if I have to choose one I’ll take tilt every time. Overall I think the time an X makes the most sense is when you have young children in car seats, otherwise the FWD seem like more trouble than they are worth.

ObeseSnake 2025-08-18 17:10

Looks great!

ObeseSnake 2025-08-18 17:10

I suspect it will be here next year.

Own_Amphibian_9138 2025-08-18 17:11

My bet is on saving cost.

jekksy 2025-08-18 17:12

No glass ceiling???

Specialist-Can9671 2025-08-18 17:15

Siciliano777 2025-08-18 17:21

Can we see the whole car?? 😐

HellsNels 2025-08-18 17:30

I feel all 4 of the experimental China ones could come here. * Model YL * Model Y Performance * Cheap Model Y * Super long-range Model 3

Plastic-Squirrel1431 2025-08-18 17:37

Anybody notice how small the rear doors are here?

Past_Explanation69 2025-08-18 17:40

I'd imagine a giant refresh of the X in 18 months

MrTofuDragon 2025-08-18 18:03

Finally, extra side air vents for the 2nd and 3rd rows. The current Y's 3rd row air flow is abysmal.

[deleted] 2025-08-18 18:12

I want that fuckin head rest

El-DiablitoRojo 2025-08-18 18:13

It might be adjustable?

HoPMiX 2025-08-18 18:14

Love the look but 5 seater for real life.

Wafflesnobbert 2025-08-18 18:14

Most uncomfortable back seat experience I've ever had is a model x with the captain seats. Very very cramped.

rustybeancake 2025-08-18 18:16

Only about 4 years late then.

whitemiketyson 2025-08-18 18:18

They just bolted an ajustable piece to the existing seat…

whitemiketyson 2025-08-18 18:18

TWO WARS!?

specter491 2025-08-18 18:19

That's how I felt. The 3 seat bench seat configuration IMO is better and it's also cheaper.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-08-18 18:28

That Model 3 is basically just the Model 3 LR RWD we already have in the US. 78.4kWh battery capacity etc. It just gets an impressive looking range number in China because the CLTC range tests give much higher numbers than the EPA tests.

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-08-18 18:33

The second row armrests raise and lower per the video Tesla posted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gWYW_hzvoY

ibuybundy 2025-08-18 18:34

No armrests for the second row? Major miss IMO.

Individual-Coat4710 2025-08-18 18:35

Wow, this is a home run. I can't wait for this to come to the states. I'm buying it for sure

Ok_Giraffe8865 2025-08-18 18:44

Hope they offer it with a folding bench option for the second row. My dog loves being right in front of the rear air. Plus if I have 5 I would rather have a bench.

imironman2018 2025-08-18 18:47

Exactly. It would accommodate more cargo. I have a mx 6 seater and I can’t fold the captain chairs and can’t really carry a lot of bulky items.

rotaryczar 2025-08-18 18:55

Third row air vents?!?! My kid hates roasting alive back there in our current 3 row.

BTC_Bull 2025-08-18 18:56

It has armrests. They are seen in the video.

JoopMens 2025-08-18 19:03

They had me at the black liner. Needs to be an option for all models.

chfp 2025-08-18 19:07

So many questions about the 2nd row. How far back does it recline? How does it get out of the way to let in the 3rd row passengers? The way it's folded down now looks like the base blocks entry into the back row. Does the whole thing fold up while it's sandwiched flat?

sunfishtommy 2025-08-18 19:10

No this seat is taller than a typical model y seat.

sunfishtommy 2025-08-18 19:12

Model Y (Long). Tesla is releasing a long wheelbase model y in china that has 3 rows of seats. Aparently the chinese love long wheelbase cars like this.

sunfishtommy 2025-08-18 19:13

Looks like glass to me.

[deleted] 2025-08-18 19:22

Please tell me those seats are ventilated

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-08-18 19:31

They are there, they just raise and lower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gWYW_hzvoY

DingDongHelloWhoIsIt 2025-08-18 19:33

Folding seats are quite compromised in terms of comfort. At least every one I've seen. Fine for kids though

LurkerWithAnAccount 2025-08-18 19:55

Still under metaphorical and literal wraps. Press will get the car “soon” (if not already) so expect all the details “soon.”

phido3000 2025-08-18 19:55

X is being discontinued. They have stopped selling it pretty much everywhere other than the usa.

OptimizeWithAPassion 2025-08-18 20:00

It actually looks really well done! Designed in America but built first in china or was this the china team? Even the pillars have air vents. Idk if that’s standard on the x but it’s a nice touch.

michalf 2025-08-18 20:04

These front seat headrests don't look comfortable at all.

matthew19 2025-08-18 20:24

3rd row AC!

matthew19 2025-08-18 20:29

Yea a little forward jutted.

17kangm 2025-08-18 21:03

Those front seats need to be on the current Junipers. There’s like zero thigh support and the seat is too narrow. Those new ones look much more comfortable.

Lindberg47 2025-08-18 21:04

Wish it had a 7 seater configuration with three independent seats on the second row.

hoang51 2025-08-18 21:09

Now make it in a Performance trim and I'm sold. :D

icy1007 2025-08-18 21:14

wtf? B-pillar air vents?

pavanforest 2025-08-18 21:18

At least second row folds, unlike X. The space in between is minimal only kids to pass though I guess.

eried 2025-08-18 22:18

Nice but those vents in the back? Looks like they went to some china fly market and grabbed some cheap ford after market vents, do you need to manually point them in the back, wtf?

AntalRyder 2025-08-18 22:21

I can't think of a vehicle outside of the Model X that doesn't have folding rear seats. They're fine in every vehicle.

MisterBumpingston 2025-08-18 22:37

It always is.

QuantumProtector 2025-08-18 22:45

I think it will get killed off

Beefmagigins 2025-08-18 23:41

Perfect! for them to brake just after warranty and Tesla charge you $1.6k to replace the whole seat!

soondolee 2025-08-18 23:53

Chinese love the 6 seaters.... that is why tesla are making one.

SippieCup 2025-08-19 01:27

ventilation didn't return to the model S until 2021 with the refresh. 2019-2020 Vegan leather seats are a little more comfortable, but god damn I loved the 1.5 Ventilated seats and miss em so much.

[deleted] 2025-08-19 02:05

I don’t see the differences to be honest that much

Durkza 2025-08-19 03:11

Woah more air vents!

Certain_Revenue9278 2025-08-19 04:31

All the video reviews are out.

Emergency-Note1162 2025-08-19 04:32

They missed out on should have made the rear screen larger.

[deleted] 2025-08-19 07:20

the interiors are shit

mr_chillout 2025-08-19 07:41

Basically it will make X obsolete

HYtool 2025-08-19 14:26

I have the 7 seater they are foldable

buckmcneely 2025-08-19 21:41

I’ll do anything for a flat back seat where my arms can rest naturally

Rare-Winter3355 2025-08-19 22:50

We need a pic of the leg room inbetween 2nd and 3rd row.

Fluid-Feeling-8590 2025-08-19 23:15

Buyinggggggggg

Ipod5thGen00 2025-08-20 01:57

gravity

Coob5 2025-08-20 02:24

You just go in between the seats using the open space to get to the third row. That's the beauty of a 6 seater with captains chairs in the 2nd row.

chfp 2025-08-20 02:33

Yeah the Chinese reviewer showed that. "Beauty" is a stretch, it's just the least expensive design to get people to the back. It'd be a pain to get car seats in the third row. Sliding second row chairs exist and would make it easier to get into the third row.

colinstalter 2025-08-20 05:28

One of numerous examples of Tesla’s hubris.

Beautiful-Muffin-445 2025-08-21 02:45

it will be a good place for a midday snooze haha\~\~

cbciv 2025-08-22 14:34

No one‘s gonna buy that. The EV’s in China are 10 times better.

Forsaken-Hedgehog437 2025-08-22 15:30

Back seat air vents look sweet! I bet they work way better
