Looks good!

casualberry 2025-07-17 00:03

Good looking minivan

Electrical_Quality_6 2025-07-17 00:07

awesome usa would love a bigger car too

icebabyiceice 2025-07-17 00:20

That ass look phat

psykedeliq 2025-07-17 01:07

Same size 5 seater would be dope too

Nokomis34 2025-07-17 01:15

I really like the extra space, but the third row is beyond useless for me. Hopefully they're at least removable. Not too sure about the captain chairs in the back either, as we camp with it and and the kids sleep in the car while we're in the attached tent.

Interesting that this is 3 inches longer than a Model X

Terrible_Soil_4778 2025-07-17 02:03

Let’s see what’s inside.

bgarza18 2025-07-17 02:22

There’s a really good alternative that’s a 2 row and available right now, today.

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:31

Thanks for sharing that info, I was wondering.

Dr_Pippin 2025-07-17 02:32

6 seats?

Terrible_Soil_4778 2025-07-17 02:32

Yeah but let’s see how tight it is.

oasiscat 2025-07-17 02:37

All that for just 1 more seat...

WrongdoerIll5187 2025-07-17 03:05

Yeah really wish there was pics

matthew19 2025-07-17 03:49

It’s not, just a longer wheelbase, but total length is shorter.

MoDa65 2025-07-17 04:16

Ugly. And doubt it will be any good if the previous 3rd row Y and current x 3rd row are jokes. Tesla needs to focus on a new vehicle that's actually an SUV 3 row to compete with gravity, ev9, ioniq 9 and r1s

bobsil1 2025-07-17 04:20

Tush push

TaifmuRed 2025-07-17 04:43

The back looks both dull and weird at the same time

scrotumseam 2025-07-17 05:10

The rear end looks so bad it's beyond me. Why didn't they just use the same Y back end?

aljung21 2025-07-17 05:11

It’s not just 1 more seat. At least the 2 second row seats are better than in the middle row. And the back row is easier to get to and has more space (leg room) than in the 7 seater version. Sure it’s subjective but the Model X 6 seater that we tested was fantastic.

Flaky-Character-9383 2025-07-17 05:56

Is it really true that Tesla would sell more with an even bigger car than if Tesla made a smaller car? Maybe it sounds strange, but maybe I just live in a bubble of people living in cities who are not potential Tesla customers. A Model Y as a shortened 5-seater Hatchback might make me reconsider buying a Tesla. The Model Y is just too big for me right now.

ArgonWilde 2025-07-17 05:58

Every revision, they look more and more like a BYD.

SnooStories3343 2025-07-17 06:20

Looking forward to see that interior

Lovevas 2025-07-17 06:54

The demand for a large 3-row SUV is much smaller, due to the price (you cannot make cheap 3-row large SUV), so even if Tesla can do a new model, it will face demand issue. The better is using existing Y platform, while it won't be big enough, it's probably enough for china market. Not to mention china street is very crowded in general, and bigger challenge to park a large 3-row SUV

mrporque 2025-07-17 07:13

Interior thread without the interior

Ok_Length_5168 2025-07-17 07:53

This is common practice in China. Most BMWs have the L version. China loves bigger rear seating area but small car size .

godnorazi 2025-07-17 08:01

Hmmm, so roomier but less seats than the old 7 seater Y

MoDa65 2025-07-17 08:36

Fair enough. I was just thinking of US market. Tesla gained a lot of people's trust in the EV market. I think a real 3 row SUV would have been the better focus instead of the taxi and cybertruck. Many growing families or those starting one. A more real 3 row--not saying full size like expedition or tahoe, but mid size like pilot/palisade/grand highlander, it would have been easy transition for folks who wanted to stick with tesla and but a big usable 3 row. They didnt do that so people looked to the R1s, EV9/Ioniq9. I guess well see long term. Honestly, this also lets people see how much different EVs from other manufacturers are. In the beginning Tesla was the be all end all answer to EVs. Even when others were available, no one really even bothered because they knew there was only 1 clear choice. It's like all the brainwashed Apple product folks. Eventually android surpassed them with better tech, features, etc. But apple had just enough diversity in their products that people wanted to keep them holding on. Tesla's case, people wanting a real 3 row couldnt find it with Tesla unless they stuck with the mediocre X and Y. You see what hyundai/kia has to offer and the features and amenities in the interior is just on another league compared to Tesla. so now it opened people's eyes that Tesla isnt the be all end all choice. Not to mention this isnt $1000 phones but $50-80K+ vehicles so sacrificing and living with settling just for the sake of staying with the brand isnt logical. The gravity from lucid is freaking awesome too. When the more cheaper trims become available, thats just another better choice when it comes to 3 rows. The X and Y 3 row are freaking prehistoric in comparison now. Just rehash of same crap now. Competition has caught up, superchargers are open to all. Lets wait and see..

JonNordland 2025-07-17 09:46

I wish they did something weird, strange, or unexpected with the back of the car so it's not just a giant wall. Not sure what though, so it might be harder than one thinks (Armchair car design is easier than actually doing it, obviously).

LeadingAd6025 2025-07-17 11:20

Didn’t they have a 7 seat earlier on MY??

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-07-17 11:53

> you cannot make cheap 3-row large SUV The Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander both have lower starting prices than the Model Y.

Lovevas 2025-07-17 12:50

Are these 2 BEVs?

Suitable_Switch5242 2025-07-17 12:54

No, they are 3-row SUVs. The Kia EV9 starts around $55k which is probably where this Model Y L would be priced if it came to the US.

Nimradd 2025-07-17 13:18

It’s both. They are planning a «model 2» that’s more of a cheaper hatchback city car. That class is really big in Europe. For me Model Y is a good size but I would love something bigger as I have kids and a dog.

ghostsolid 2025-07-17 13:21

I just want more roomy camp mode.

SocomPS2 2025-07-17 13:24

ThiccY

Zero_Abides 2025-07-17 13:30

Ok now make a truly larger vehicle for large families.

Lovevas 2025-07-17 13:31

It's known that EV has significantly higher cost than ICE cars, so we should only compare to BEV on cost. EV9 starting model only has 230 miles range, while we don't know the range of Model Y L, but we know it's dual motor AWD, and the 5-seat Y RWad has 357 miles range, so we should at least compare to EV9 LR AWD 6-seat (283 miles), which is $69K.

IAmMcMuffin25 2025-07-17 16:01

I actually really want this

start3ch 2025-07-17 16:04

Yea a model 3 hatchback would be nice. Street parking the Y sucks, it’s is as wide as many street parking spots here

applepumpkinspy 2025-07-17 17:25

They need it to be taller in the back for the headroom in the 3rd row - the overall height has increased along with the length.

seveneigh8si6 2025-07-17 17:30

Fits the Xs profile.

matroosoft 2025-07-17 17:32

Bit too fatt

icy1007 2025-07-17 17:53

China only. Just like the previous extended Models.

Adencor 2025-07-17 18:37

You're looking at the 5-seater taxi right here; this will have 4 rear seats, not 5 (6 seats total). EV9 and Ioniq9 are far more like the Pilot than the Tahoe when you drive them and ride in the 3rd row. The R1S, Cadillac IQ ("true three row SUV/trucks"), etc. all boast 6-figure price tags for the most part.

AutomaticAccount6832 2025-07-17 22:19

No 7 or 8 seat version?

MLucian 2025-07-17 23:02

ThYCCC

PointyPointBanana 2025-07-18 00:22

This is longer.

No-Association-7396 2025-07-18 02:11

Just for China first

jamiegs 2025-07-18 02:53

Model Y-d ass

gweilojoe 2025-07-18 03:31

As an X owner, also my first thought…

Perryfl 2025-07-18 04:10

damn why does china get everything from the american company first

hatefulevo 2025-07-18 04:34

i wonder when they are gonna reveal the performance

inlaguna 2025-07-18 06:54

they sure know how to ruin a good thing 😂😆🤣 (model 3 and model y)

NoHonorHokaido 2025-07-18 09:49

Why does Tesla hate ground clearance so much?

tall_cappucino1 2025-07-18 11:12

Who among us does not have a few “unflattering angles”?

Sinsid 2025-07-18 13:08

Just 4. Two are mounted on the roof when needed.

slodojo 2025-07-18 13:42

except it’s not nearly as functional as a minivan. guarantee there’s practically zero storage in the back with the third row up. I wish I could buy the zeekr 009 in the US.

bittabet 2025-07-18 14:54

So it’ll fit adults in the back. Current one has no headroom. And with the third row up they probably need more cargo height to make the cargo area usable.

[deleted] 2025-07-18 15:19

I’m sorry but the Model Y is the ugliest Tesla ever

THATS_LEGIT_BRO 2025-07-18 17:42

Sir Mix-a-Lot Edition™

falcontitan 2025-07-18 20:35

Looks like a kardashian from the back

ob1spyker 2025-07-19 01:24

Let’s see your fridge!

mjezzi 2025-07-19 03:16

I love our Model Y, but it’s still funny that they made it look like a bigger Model 3. They kinda fixed that with the refresh, but now they are doing it again by lengthening it. I remember a story that the Model Y styled like the 3 was a safe choice to share parts with the Model 3, and that Elon caved in instead of doing a unique style. I feel like they are still paying for that mistake by trying to lengthen the Model Y. Really, what they should do is redesign the SUV from the ground up. The new model Y designs feel awkwardly constrained by sharing parts with the model 3.

[deleted] 2025-07-19 03:52

YYYes

dude83fin 2025-07-19 05:36

Wow that is fugly

harda_toenail 2025-07-19 14:00

Would be awesome if it’s like a minivan and collapse into what’s now the subtrunk area making for a flat surface when stowed away.

MTN2187 2025-07-19 17:43

No interior photos makes this post useless.

He1nr1chB 2025-07-19 20:33

Chinese market. Narrower buttocks.

Terrible_Soil_4778 2025-07-19 20:34

Or just for kids.

sentu4400 2025-07-20 00:28

Over priced

Iwillgetasoda 2025-07-20 11:44

No buttons?

Terrible_Soil_4778 2025-07-20 13:19

Only buttons you will see is on the doors, steering wheel and cabin lights.

casino_r0yale 2025-07-21 06:16

There is no third row, it’s 6 seater. It’s captains chairs

snowballkills 2025-07-21 08:20

I still remember the BS marketing stunt at Model X's launch when he claimed that the X was roomier than an Audi Q7 and had better handling that a Porsche 911. I know Elon is a business genius, if not a genius per se, but he and people claiming he is just an engineer is complete B.S.

ngvuanh 2025-07-22 16:58

I may have to agree, especially the rear end. I like 25' models and earlier more. But it's just me.

AZFire480 2025-07-22 22:20

Underrated comment

priuspilot 2025-07-23 11:51

I don't know what the deal is with these comments, I've been for this car, will definitely buy

Status_Job_1522 2025-07-27 09:40

About to be smooth as well. The cheap MY will not have the grey plastic on the back, along with a metal roof.

NoWafer6151 2025-07-27 19:40

I’ve been seeing the new teslas all over the road, they rare ?
