I wouldn’t be surprised if Elon used that and advertisement opportunity on the durability of the CT.

He already is, he is never the type to let a good disaster go to waste.

Really interesting report. Sounds like terrorism to me, since the truck was exploded 20 seconds after being parked there.

But what he said isn't wrong, and it did control the explosion more than if it had been different vehicle.

It wasn’t a bomb going off

That is how an explosion works. The explosion/force is looking for the path of least resistance. Since the sides are made from steel it makes sense that the explosion went mostly upwards. The Cybertruck did hold up well though for sure, I don't know if that strength really matters from a practicality point of view. For regular truck stuff that is.

It was technically fireworks but if you look at the definition of a bomb, then this was a bomb. Definition of a bomb is an explosive device designed to detonate under a specific circumstance.

Sure, I like to let off bombs on the 4th of July

Those are just controlled explosions. They are designed for the explosive powder to blast upwards. When we were kids we used to take bottle rockets and then stomp on them then tape it all up. Voila you have a small bomb. That is essentially what happened here except this guy wasn't smart enough to wrap up and stomp on the fireworks. He would have done a lot more damage if he had. If he used a different vehicle he would have done a lot more damage. The Cybertruck rolled steel body forced the energy to blast more upwards through the cab and the tonneau cover instead of sideways.

How could a person not think it was terrorism. It wasn't an accident that is for sure. He has a whole bunch of fireworks and gas and camp fuel in the back. I am not sure what he was trying to do, like I don't know if he wanted to do a bunch of damage to the hotel, or if he was somehow trying to show that Cybertrucks spontaneously combust or what but he didn't do a very good job of doing either of those two things. .

Some people really are that stupid! Let me use a 7000lbs solid steel vehicle( that has been proven to be bullet proof), load it with fireworks and other explosives and expect it to explode! He/ she was better off using a Honda civic or Toyota Prius.

Yeah exactly it is actually kinda bizarre, the Cybertruck has to be some kinda message. Not to mention it seems like this person didn't do anything to the fireworks to make them more "explosive" when we were kids we used to tape them up and then smash them to make them go bang. If you have this much fireworks why not to smash them up to make them have a bigger bang. Apparently buddy was a American Green Beret. You would think he would know a few things about explosives.

I think is more about leaving the message rather than the vehicle it was used. Or maybe the vehicle was used exactly because it would perform better for the usage. Maybe the person wanted the message to be delivered and not harm anyone.
