I did only the front PPF on my ‘24. If installed properly you won’t even know it’s there unless I tell you it is. It’s a very debated subject on whether to get PPF or not. I decided to forgo the chips and get it. Zero regrets so far

That’s awesome, how long have you had the PPF installed for?

I bought a cheap ppf from Amazon just for the front and sides.

Got the car in Feb of 24, PPF was installed within a week of purchase. Tesla paint is weak, which was the main factor I considered when purchasing it. Also ceramic coated (stealth gray- a very high maintenance color). Very happy with my choices

Looks fine. It’s like putting a screen protector on your phone. It’s clear.

Not worth it, it’s a Tesla Model Y aka a basic daily commuter electric economy class car, not a Porsche. Use the car for the tool that it is and opt to protect things with actual value and substantial worth. Are you gonna care about your Seiko watch getting banged up with use or your Rolex?

This car is a the most expensive car I’ve ever bought. I used to have a hand me down Mazda cx-30. I’m a 19 year old, and saved up for years, working many jobs and investing in the stock market to buy this car, (Even before I could drive). And was able to buy it in cash.
It’s a Porsche in my eyes. Although I do also love Porsche, if I had infinite money a Porsche 911 GT3 RS would be my ultimate dream car.
But I’m also really into technology and love my Tesla that fact it drives its self and all the cool things it can do; and plan on keeping it for a long time.
That’s why I want to keep it nice; from my prospective it’s a life long achievement, and I care about it because of that 🙂

Im in the same boat as you, if you can afford it sure but know that it’s not adding value to your car. And especially when you eventually get rid of it, you’re essentially taking care of it for the next owner. I personally chose to save the money. I did the rear door PPF and that’s it. I have a couple small rock chips on my hood but so does every other car on the road.
You’ll keep it more than nice just taking care of the paint as best as you can. Hand washing it, using proper techniques.

All cars are expensive and deserve to be taken care of. A Rolex cost 8k, Model Y cost 45k. I wonder why people like you decide to make these type of comments. Then I remember this is Reddit.

Lol so you’re going to put something to protect it that costs 15 percent of the car? Much better saving that money. If you have to decide if it’s worth it, it’s probably not.
Also, that $45k car is instantly worth $40k as soon as you drive off and less every single day after that.
In 5 years, worth maybe $25k? What’s even the point.
Edit: forgot to add that PPF also needs to be replaced. So if you plan on keeping the car for a decade+, that’s easily over $12k just to protect your paint.

No worries man. Congrats on the car. Honestly, I would only consider it if you were doing it yourself. At 19, you are much much better off saving that money altogether. This isn’t going to be your last car.
