Yes but you blow the breaker if you turn both on at once
Why not just have the dryer run during the day and charge the car at night? Seems like unnecessary spending if you’re just at an air bnb
No. Buy the 10-30 connector thing that goes with the mobile charger.
It _can_ work. I've done it successfully. But there are going to be potential safety risks. Absolutely make sure you set your car to draw the appropriate amperage! Based on the plug you're using from your "charger" it may want to draw 40+ amps, but the outlet itself is rated at 30 (so you should draw, like 24 max?) Also, those dryer outlets are not really designed for the kinds of sustasined loads that EV charging can put, so overheating can occur, which can be catastrophic. Also how far is the dryer outlet? The grounding might sound optional, but you'd want to look up how to do it properly and do it before using as well, just in case. _Definitely_ don't use it to "split" and run multiple loads.
I can smell the smoke from here....
Under no circumstances should you do this in someone else’s house. WTF!
Yea do not do this. Go buy a true splitter that has its own fuse and automatic switching. Thats how I charge at my house. If the dryer is used charging is cut off to the car automatically and everything stays plugged in. You do not want to take out the dryer plug and plug in the charger over and over either as those plugs are not designed for it. Even better if you pay an electrician to upgrade it to a commercial outlet so it can handle those long charge times. I bought a SplitVolt 2 years ago for like $300 then spent another $60 on a good commercial outlet. Im handy so I swapped the outlet myself but you NEED to follow the instructions and have a torque screwdriver to ensure you are installing it as designed. Over tightening or under tightening can both cause it to fail
I did it. Worked for 2 years now 😅
Don't do it. If you absentmindedly run the dryer and charge your car simultaneously, it'll either result in regular nuisance trips of the circuit or, much worse, melting the cables or receptacles. Instead, consider selecting a [NEMA 14-30 Smart Switch](https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Charging-Integration-Automatic-Real-time/dp/B0DMNNW7CJ/ref=sr_1_7) (link arbitrary and for reference only). It'll prioritize either EV or Dryer and won't let them both draw current simultaneously.
Fuuuukkkkk you if you do this
Works if you only use one at a time. Better to just buy the mobile charger adapter and keep the single plug so someone doesn't accidentally turn on both..
Is there not a supercharger nearby? Seems like a big risk for something that can be avoided.
Not a good idea. Electrical world is not a fun one to cheat, the consequences far outweigh the benefits. Lots of people are melting receptacles due to this kind of stuff.
Ahh yes, the well known and reputable electronics brand called Tellegloww lmao
This will work good, but if you buy this, then make sure it says EV. One made for RV will not work. I’ll be skeptical about the picture you posted since it mentions RV.
That’s a pretty large flux capacitor
No. You should never use these kinds of splitters. They should be illegal. Also the splitter is for 220.
