Tax return filing question

asuragana | 2026-03-15 18:39 | 5 views

Hi, I bought Tesla model Y juniper last year and got 7500 tax rebate upfront at the dealer itself . Now I am filing tax returns for last year. Do I have to do anything as part of filing about the car purchase and rebate? Thanks in advance

Yes, you need to report this. Google how to do this based on your tax software. Both freetaxusa and TurboTax do this easily

Did you buy it from Tesla direct or a dealer? If used from a regular car dealer it is limited to $4000.

This is not a Model Y question , it’s a tax question. Thx, bye.

Report it on your tax return. Tesla should have emailed you a tax form. It not really complicated. Any tax software can handle this.
